  1. Ah, OK. Good to know, thanks.
  2. The PT reinvents itself after each and very "loss" and no doubt it will do the same again. Who's this "fugitive" you allude to? Last I read, Thaksin has returned, surrendered, and if not exactly jailed any more, certainly in some form of custody. Nobody needs to keep an unelected quotient of military-aligned senators any more. The law mandates that the incumbent sycophants maximum 5-year term totally expires in April-ish 2024. PT are perfectly capable of rounding up their own largely unelected and unelectable cabal of yes people for the upper house without the need for a military crutch. Same trough, different day. Different snouts too.
  3. AAIB investigations are typically very thorough affairs. And this unfortunate crash was in England. Considering where you claim to have been living for a long time, you must be gutted. You don't know squat about helicopters either. Sorry for your disappointment. Agreed, case closed along with all the tenuous attempts to bash Thailand and all things Thai.
  4. The IO processing you will already "see" your previous O-A use on their screen after he/she initially scans in the passport. If he/she doesn't see any reference to the eVisa he/she may just proceed with the O-A entry for which you have proof of insurance. I am not sure if the issuance of the eVisa will appear on their screen as, like all visas, it is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the database he/she uses is the Immigration Police one. Thus I would suggest keep the eVisa letter out of sight until he/she mentions it. Worst case is they see your O-A AND the existence of an as yet unused eVisa and after flipping back and forth through your passport, whereupon you will be handed over to a supervisor. Your experience at that point onwards will depend on whether he/she is having a bad day at the office. Good luck!
  5. If you behave like that, the demi-mondaines won't touch you with a bargepole. They're after the two-week millionaire-like 'fresh meat' experience and not the old 'falang loo-mahk'.
  6. I recall reading a thread where someone tried entering with two valid visas and immigration were quite nice and asked the traveller to choose which one he wanted to use, whereupon the other one was stamped cancelled. Not sure what the OP's experience will be if they're not nice and decide for him (and still cancel the other).
  7. Four months is the norm for improvised heart disease, which coincidentally corresponds with when he will be able to walk out of the hospital as a free man. The Corrections Department now have the prerogative to exercise the Royal Pardon whenever they see fit. He'll be home for Christmas with his grandchildren.
  8. They momentarily threw their hand in with a one-trick pony called Pita until someone popped his ONLY balloon.
  9. In other news, Reagan said he was going to sign off on the biggest tax cuts in US history, and he did. The following year, he started to raise them and introduce some more. George H.W. Bush said, "Read my lips. No new taxes." Then he approved new taxes. Every sitting POTUS since Eisenhower has stated in their first speech after being elected that they will end the US's dependence on imported oil. None of them have. Boris Johnson said he had an oven-ready Brexit deal ready to be done. But he hadn't. What's your issue with election pledges again?
  10. You managed to see EVERY person in Switzerland while you were there on vacation? That's awesome! Your Aussie mate can see clear across the Nullarbor and way up the Cape York? That's amazing! Is he clever like you as well?
  11. Maybe because nobody has suggested that he's going to get shot as yet?
  12. And there was me thinking that after all these statements about bad tenants and rental abuse, you would come up with some serious questions.
  13. Anyway, no matter which side you bat for, I won't be making any more comments on a Royal pardon on a public forum in Thailand.
  14. What are the chances of that now, eh? Muhammad Ali — 'Frazier's got two chances. Slim, and none. And Slim just left town.'
  15. How many people have bailed you up personally because you used an 'inaccurate' pronoun when addressing them? No? Do you know someone who has got up close and personal with this 'woke brigade'? A common description of woke is getting all bent out of shape about what one thinks other people are feeling or getting upset about. This despite the fact that neither these other people nor whatever is bothering them has any influence or presence in your life whatsoever. Ringing any bells yet?
  16. But nobody is insisting any such thing. What's annoying is insisting that you are right. Fine, so why did you not place a full stop after the word transphobia and leave your opinion there? Instead of being boorish and spewing your medically unqualified and misguided personal opinion all over the place again? If they are such a tiny percentage, and I agree that yes they are, how come they rent such a colossal smount of space in your head? As my sister says, there's really no need to be afraid of things you simply don't understand.
  17. When I did my UK passport 'flip' on re-entry at DMK a few months back, the IO at the desk was similarly challenged, as the top-level passport biometrics probably indicated that I had used my other UK passport for well over a decade. Once handed over to a supervisor, it was an easy job for her to enter the new passport and immigration status change on HER workstation and be on my way. She only asked two questions: was I still living in Udon Thani and why I was using a different passport. She accepted my affirmative to place of residence and comment that the RetExt in the other passport had already expired and the passport was almost full already. No more immigration drama expected. I guess the IO at the kiosks have administrative limits on their terminals, whereas their supervisors are the only ones with the higher admin level to input and approve passport changes?
  18. Although a visa wasn't required, I had a whole ship's crew, all travelling on seaman's airfare tickets, carrying Seaman's books and letters from the vessel's handling agents at their destination, refused boarding by a dim check-in desk worker AND her supervisor because they didn't have a visa. I parked them up overnight at an airport hotel and rebooked them on another airline the next day that didn't have ignoramuses working the desks. Some supervisors are worse than those they are supervising. They are mostly subcontractors and not airline employees, and work for several airlines during the day all serving different destinations and can't be arsed checking the rules when forced to make a (wrong) decision.
  19. Maybe your (made up) Mick from Scunthorpe, like yourself, should have gotten out more?
  20. Mental illness I think, used to be called transvestites, now transgender and if you don't agree with gender change being possible, or don't want to be bullied into calling a He SHE you are called transphobic. Yup, true to form, still a dick.
  21. Yet you care enough to read and comment on this thread eh? For what reason do you comment here? Seems just to be pushing your agenda against such people. Yes, quite a bit of homophobic and misogynistic anger masquerading as blokey humor here.

    Their cigars are overrated too.
