  1. <self-edited my armchair detective nonsense>
  2. Yeah! Only the LOCALS are allowed to do that. Foreigners need a WP to do it.
  3. ...after the Thai pushed the victim three times, without any physical response.
  4. Not sure, but where I come from, pushing and shoving a much older man, even an inebriated much older man, isn't brave. But that's you.
  5. Correct. He was attacked by only ONE cowardly Thai.
  6. Security official... getting in his face... politely asked... the head wound was actually caused by the working girls who dropped him... So little evidence, so much wasted bandwidth.
  7. The perpetrator is talking about the "eyewitnesses" and the "tourist" as the same person. He is not talking about the victim.
  8. I would further say that the bouncers are unprofessional cowards. Is that better?
  9. Christ! Aren't you lucky that this lunatic "qualification process for having kids" wasn't a reality around the time you were being spawned.
  10. There was a total of five shoves. The 'guard' pushed the victim three times with the second one being quite violent. Only after receiving the third shove, did the victim respond with a much weaker shove after which the 'guard' shoved hard, causing the victim to fall and get injured (not injure himself as the AN's news bot suggests). In the UK, it would come under causing actual bodily harm or ABH which can earn any 'shover' up to five years in jail. I recall Australia has a similar law where anyone delivering a blow or punch that subsequently results in serious head trauma, then they are also going to be charged accordingly. Here in Thailand, less so. Especially with the feral types that typically get hired to mind the staff in these locales.
  11. You do not know the victim. I, and a few others on the original thread, do. Your speculation and comments on that thread were ill-advised, now they are sick.
  12. I learned not to park outside ANY business that I didn't have ANY business in. You will be pleased to hear that I haven't had my head kicked in since, and the extra walking does me good. A rental car. Why?
  13. yes they do. bob. In 1984, I ended up in a Pattaya hospital with a major face wound after a large beer bottle was used by a bar security chap in Pattaya Land 1, to teach me not to park my car outside a bar that I wasn't drinking in that night. Things haven't really improved much over the past 40-odd years.
  14. As a personal friend of both the victim and his wife, I can safely say you couldn't be more wrong. Back on topic, he is in ICU with a very serious head injury.
  15. Be careful out there. https://www.pattayamail.com/news/brutal-assault-on-canadian-raises-serious-questions-about-tourist-safety-in-pattaya-467900
  16. Yeah, sure you are. If you are aware of all these changes you list in painfully excruciating detail, you're still ploughing the field.
  17. There's absolutely nothing nefarious about being 'armed with a cucumber'. Some of my best friends do it.
  18. Oh. Doesn't everyone? Except @JimTripper I mean?
  19. Maybe you can try HRT and get back to your old, 'hard-body smashing' self.
  20. True. Some old geezers die their hair, do HRT and tell lies about their age.
  21. They probably want to goto those new trendy clubs like in Thonglor or whatever, or the emisphere (whatever that is). I feel like I'm too old for those. The foreigners from a younger generation seek mainstream, quality entertainment and a 'normal' Thai girlfriend. They eschew what the dwindling amount of mongers and sex pats drool over. Possibly after a one-off visit to witness the overpriced fleshpots, walking past the sad-looking, aging Lotharios nursing their Chang's from the front row of Stumble Inn (you know who you are), they're off to where the 'nice' girls are. And yes, you are probably getting too old for the 'scene' anyway.
  22. Is there something incorrect with my 'sub-par' interpretation of your 'not great' opinion? To me, both descriptions would suggest that you have tasted better. The member card is inedible and doesn't contribute anything to a food review. A discount does not and cannot make poorly prepared food 'not great' or 'sub-par' food taste better. Back on topic, it is their FB page, and they have the right to remove anything they see as negative. You have the right to stop eating there.
  23. That's gibberish cr4p. Nothing embarrassing about eating at Kiss or Cheap Charlie's. Yes, and you are not the OP who has admitted to eating multiple times at Cheap Charlies despite the mostly sub-par experience.
