  1. Just the bullets? Maybe you need to hook up with @bob smith
  2. So you've got a gun as well?
  3. Pretty much the same information that my UK offshore bank requested from me about 6 months ago as part of their KYC compliance procedures (customer for about 38 years). What's your problem again?
  4. Sod off, I'm Scottish. And you didn't need to keep staring either.
  5. Do you slow down when you see them, or are an aficionado of the local's 'shoot-the-gap' game now?
  6. When I came back for second rodeo in Pattaya, having fallen badly during the first rodeo that ended in divorce (from that bitch, but I'm not bitter), I was the epitome of the solitary, hansum man, ploughing between the fertile thighs of Thai womenhood like Gods' gift to something or other. After about forty days (and forty nights) I found myself in a bar, around 2 pm, mildly buzzed and perched on a barstool with several other wrong-side-of-middle-age farang fantasists, all purportedly living the dream. I took a long slug of beer and squinted at this coterie of white male... loneliness, and had my epiphany. Who wants to be a silver-haired (or bald) old geezer in a whorehouse? That night, I went and got myself the longest-legged, biggest-titted, closest-shaved, best-kissing go-go dancer (prior experience helped) and offered her the 'barfine for life' deal. She accepted and now, 18 years (and two kids) later, I really am living the dream, totally on my terms, and I don't really care that I am older than my mother-in-law. I know that when the time comes, and I can't get out and about (soon) or control my bowels (sooner) or need all my food puréed and sucked through a straw (very soon), she and the boys will be there for me.
  7. People often don't slow down when they see pedestrians especially when they're unlicensed and uninsured
  8. Being a sociopath is a lot easier when you don't understand either the language or the culture.
  9. Did you know that 50% of online AI detectors are driven by AI ?
  10. Have had Daikin, Hitachi and LG in the past but now I'm a Midea convert. Also have Midea hot-water shower units (replacing the original Panasonic), under sink hot water for the kitchen (replacing the original Ariston) and microwave (replacing the original Samsung).
  11. Do cashiers have tatts? Asking for a friend.
  12. Her sister. Same thing happened in Cuba as well.
  13. Excellent response and pretty much answers my questions. Thanks.
  14. What's your receiving bank here? Thanks.
  15. My rat got trapped in the recirculation vent right behind the glove box on the passenger side. It took about three days before the smell became noticeable, and by that time it was kinda crispy, but the maggots were having a field day. Not too terribly hard to remove and clean, and checking on a few YouTube's and shopping on lazada found some screens to prevent rats entering through that way again. But the biggest difference was cleaning up the yard and removing a busted bag of corn. They would load up on kernels then run across the yard and climb up on top of the battery and engine cover to eat, piss and sh*t. The worst infestations are when they go deeper inside the air-conditioning ductwork and have a litter of babies and they die. That's a major, major job as modern car air conditioners are one-piece or modular but fitted during assembly and not designed for easy removal
  16. One could argue that time zones make a difference but SWIFT remittances to/from my US bank to my UK offshore bank are almost instantaneous. It's just Bangkok Bank that appears to have reverted to the old ways. No big deal as it is pretty consistent ~24-hours unless a UK or Thai bank holiday gets in the mix and that's good for an extra 24 to 48 hours.
  17. Thanks for that. There are no variables on the UK offshore banking end since forever: same accounts at each end, varying amounts. Up until around 2014, it was always a ~24-hour event and most all Thai banks were like that too. Then it suddenly became same-day in that if I initiated the transaction BEFORE UK banking 'opened' (like around midnight Thai time), it would post between 13:00 and 17:00 same day. It has reverted to the old ~24-hours ways some time in the past couple of years. I have nothing to lose setting up a Wise account, so I will get my procrastinating alter ego to just get on with it.
  18. That will be Wise basically admitting 'your mileage may vary' which is reasonable since they are dealing with hundreds of different banks in many different countries. I am more concerned if Bangkok Bank takes 24-hours compared with other Thai banks when it comes to Wise transfers posting to the local account. I only have the Bangkok Bank account. I'm interested in what Krung Thai, SCB and Kasikorn posting times are like for Wise transfers?
  19. Find out WHY the rats are using the car for shelter and feeding. In my experience, that's the only reason they use the car as they can't drive. If there's garbage or waste nearby or even an untidy yard, they will be hanging about. As mentioned earlier, leave the hood/bonnet up. If it's till too dark (like in a shed where rats live?), rig up a light. The light also stops feral cats but, as mentioned, if there's a cat on the ranch, the rodents go away. The peppermint spray works OK, so do naphthalene moth balls (available at Big C). Just leave them in the bag but poke some holes in the bag, so the fumes get out. Jam the bag(s) in a crevice, beside the battery, wedged in a wiring loom but away from anything hot and NOT near the motor. The hardware stores also sell rodent deterrent in either aerosol or spray form. You can also buy them on lazada. But finding the source of rats and upsetting their routine is cheaper. Maybe a simple bit of housekeeping will do the job.
  20. Good grief, man (?), get a life and stop stalking the OP. It makes you look like you are "trolling for attention".
  21. That's disappointing. I am getting weary of Bangkok Bank sitting on inbound remittances for ~24-hours and was considering getting a Wise account to speed things up. But if Bangkok Bank delays Wise remittances, I won't bother.
  22. when i was a regular down soi 6, being prepared and playing it safe meant having a cum bag
  23. Not at all hilarious. With WW3 about to break out, I am packing my Go Bag tomorrow. Passport, cash, documents, clothes and anything needed to remain alive in Thailand. Anyone sensible should have a plan. Better to be in SE Asia than in Europe. If things escalate, I'll on on the next plane to Bangkok. Hopefully before thermonuclear war commences. make sure your go bag has room for this.
  24. here ya go mate
