  1. Never seen chinese in Thai buffets. Have seen plenty of them in VAT return. It is estimated that the average Chinese tourist remains in the country for one week and spends 30,000–40,000 baht (US$1,000–1,300) per person, per trip. The average Chinese tourist spends 6,400 baht (US$180) per day—more than the average visitor's 5,690 baht (US$160).
  2. To seek potential brides as many people do in Thailand.
  3. Mall salons charge 250 baht. Rompho market barbers 120 baht last time I was in Pattaya around Sept 2021.
  4. It depends on the Thai and his position in the society. A university professor has higher position in the society than a substitute teacher than a bar girl. My friend opened an account and his professor vouched for it.
  5. Are you coming on visa exempt or visa on arrival? There is a difference. The main difference is the time limit. Better to come on tourist visa that gives you almost 3 three months (including extension) to get your house in order (to obtain a O visa). visa exempt will give you two months (including one month extension). Visa on arrival is 15-days only. Agents can assists you for a price if you don't put 800K Baht in the bank. Or else, you can do it yourself. Need more details for a better answer.
  6. Don't go to the insurance broker. You need a TP to enter Thailand. Insurance brokers won't give you TP. Go to TP Website and from there buy a 30-day policy for 650 Baht. That's As simple as that. Enjoy.
  7. Only 6-months is easy to do using one visa run. STV may be not continue once it expires. Don't bother with STVs. Just get a TV and extend it and then hop over to a nere by country and get another TV and extend it one more time.
  8. Tourist who have purchased Thai government mandated insurance. And now they are forced into jail for not able o pay "alleged extortion" by Thai government. This will be all over the world and thailand's hope to ever recover from that disaster will be completely gone. I don't believe Thai government is running a scam to mandate insurance and the insurance companies are in cohort with the government not to pay and hospitals are engaged in a nefarious scheme to randomly assign positive cases to people who are testing negative. This is completely out of the world scheme only dreamt up people who have fled their own country to seek refuge in foreign lands using "wife visa".
  9. In cervical cancer,, they may have to remove the entire reproductive organs in extreme cases. Thai state level government hospitals will be her best bet, I would guess. If possible, take her to UK and get it done properly. Hope she recover soon. Good luck
  10. The person must your GF. Otherwise nobody would give a Thai person one million baht. Have you thought how the person is going to pay? Does he have a job and a high incomes? I am still assuming the person is your GF. If GF, forget it. Think about it as a donation to for her heavenly pleasure.
  11. There is no statistics to claim that the same tourists would have come to Thailand. Pre covid also they enjoyed tourists dollars.
  12. So there are platforms (three listed in the article) for the transportation of these type of merchandise. The OP can use one of the platform to transport his goods.
  13. Won't a 30-day 695 baht insurance suggested at Thai Pass website would be sufficient?
  14. I read the booking must show 1. Hotel for one night, 2. transport from airport to hotel. 3. first day RT-PCR test. 4 5th day antigen test and all paid. Without that, they won't issue TP. The package cost around 5K BHT. There are a few cheaper options and higher end options also.
  15. While people arguing here on useless conspiracy theory about insurance not paying for quarantine, I got some answers from a facegroup group where a few people confirmed that the insurance did pay for their quarantine. People will buy useless insurance without checking what it covers or not and then come here to argue that I was tested 24 hours ago negative why it is positive now. It does not work this way in the real world. You buy an insurance that Thai government recommends for Thai pass and they will pay if government mandates expensive hospital quarantine. There is no conspiracy involves and insurance companies will be on guard to protect their financial interest. The risk of being tested positive remains the same if there is a pre flight RT-PCR test or not. All RT-PCR test are a roadblock but at least one less is better than one more and in the right direction. Kudos for removing the pre-flight RT-PCR test. Keep it up Thailand don't listen to what desperate people who can't find their brides in their home land and have to take refuge in a foreign land to live off of their "wife visa" and voice their frustration in this forum.
  16. The risk of testing positive is always there irrespective of there is pre-covid test or not. And if I am tested positive, I won't like to run around and spread in the population.
  17. I have seen multiple insurances that say covered if medically diagnosed with Covid-19 and destination country's regulations require quarantine.
  18. Last time I read how many farangs have not cleared their medical bills? In millions. I have been to Thailand hospital and I would have easily escaped without paying. Not a big deal. And no hospital kept my passport. I even jokingly asked a staff what happens if I don't pay and leave. She got little nervous ???? ????????
  19. A few insurance I have checked says medically or legally necessary, specially for Covid-19.
  20. Few insurance I have checked says medically or legally by government regulations necessary.
  21. As I said earlier it could happen irrespective of whether there is a pre-flight test or not. With an insurance, I won't pay a hefty bill. I would simply say I have insurance that your government approved and I don't have money to pay.
  22. Who ever is coming to Thailand takes that risk. Also, I don't want wandering around if I'm infected with covid, even if no symptoms . It is a mute point. If I buy insurance, they must cover it. There is no iffs and butts. Glad that one more hurdle of pre-flight test is gone.
  23. I read they have plant to switch to Antigen only on arrival from July 1. One thing at a time. This is a the first step in the right direction for my arrival after july 1. Glad to see this good news in the morning.
