    I have a new passport valid until August 2026. Now I have another question. Since this is my second consecutive retirement visa and I already have 800,000 THB in my own bank account, shouldn’t I be paying Maneerat Agency less than I did last year (which was 20,000 or 25,000 THB)? That was my first application, and they helped fund my account at the time. Wouldn't 10,000 or 15,000 THB be a more reasonable fee for their services now?

    I will definitely ask for a new 1 year passport (they refuse to give me one for a longer period) from my embassy. There are only 3-4 free pages left in the old one anyway.

    Just got from MANEERAT now. Was quite surprised. They told me that if I get a 1 year extension of my passport for one year (which is manually added to the existing passport) - this passport may be not eligible for the Retirement visa prolongation (extension, renewal - call it whatever you want). She told me that the extended passport is actually not a normal passport (even if it looks exactly like one). Any thoughts?

    I got a retirement visa about 1 year ago for 1 year . I think it is NON-O-A. Now I interested in the procedure of extending this visa for one more year. I am especially interested in the passport validity minimum.

    If I understood you right, if this is my second retirement visa application (in a row) - it is considered as an extension and I don't need to go through 2 months waiting period again before the visa is issued?

    well, it could be 49%. Or even as low as 40. It is not a science, just an opinion. These days of Trump everyone have a right for their own opinions.

    My advice is based on my 2 years old experience. The things could change since.

Going back 20000 years - this is a choice of the insects amongst us. We are not animals (excluding here Mr. Trump and his supporters)

    To the OP. Apply for the VISA at the embassies of the neighboring countries. Laos is a good choice. Now they ask to present your bank statements. Get 10k usd or more to your bank account statements which you will present to the embassy people. Will never have any problem when they see you have some money. For the Thais- money is the sacred thing, on the par with Buddha himself.
