Have the BKK Bank call BKK Bank head office and they will be told that a long term visa (extension) OR work permit is needed. Most branches also require a letter from your embassy stating passport is real and address. I used my Yellow House book rather than embassy letter and that was accepted.

All property has a Family Register, Tabien Baan, called Blue Book. If the poster's wife is the owner she will have been presented with Title (Chanote) and Blue Book at the time of transfer of the property. This Blue Book is required for many government transaction and commonly to prove residence at Immigration. The owner can also have a Yellow Book issued to non-Thai (based on the Blue Book) that includes the non-Thai name and address and useful for Immigration. The Bank proof of Foreign transactions time depends on the bank. Since the Poster has extended his stay many times a Yellow Tabien Baan should be easy to obtain.

IRA withdrawals are income and no longer part of the IRA so this type of income is acceptable but the funds held in the IRA are not.

When I applied for LTV the BOI rejected any reference to my IRA which was converted from my 401K. From this I would expect the same treatment for a 401K. Based on my experience The Bank account can only be Closed at the branch office where it was opened. Zero amount does not close it.

As an expat I acquired a BBL secured credit card 20 years ago and have used it for various transactions over the years to include installment buys. The card has a limit tied to the fixed deposit account. Now that I am above the age limit for credit cards in Thailand (over 70) I have been rejected at various banks when I applied for a new card. Credit history was not factor in issuing a secured card and the card started my credit history in Thailand. I receive a yearly credit report.

My daughter (not US citizen but Thai) has traveled to USA several times with no issues. Immigration asks questions but never has rejected her.

Learn to do cardless withdrawal and problem is solved. I never use a card anymore at TTB, K-Bank, SCB or BBL. All have cardless functions at ATM.

Without a work permit it will be difficult to open an SCB account. OP can try once the work permit is available. but there are better options.

Unless the girlfriend is well educated and in good financial standing with a full time job in Thailand or ongoing business it will next to impossible to get a visa. The USA is very strict on Thai females due to human trafficking issues.
