Based on my experience The Bank account can only be Closed at the branch office where it was opened. Zero amount does not close it.

Credit history was not factor in issuing a secured card and the card started my credit history in Thailand. I receive a yearly credit report.

My daughter (not US citizen but Thai) has traveled to USA several times with no issues. Immigration asks questions but never has rejected her.

Learn to do cardless withdrawal and problem is solved. I never use a card anymore at TTB, K-Bank, SCB or BBL. All have cardless functions at ATM.

Without a work permit it will be difficult to open an SCB account. OP can try once the work permit is available. but there are better options.

Unless the girlfriend is well educated and in good financial standing with a full time job in Thailand or ongoing business it will next to impossible to get a visa. The USA is very strict on Thai females due to human trafficking issues.

I had BBL app on two phones for my account, not a joint account, and recently was required to select a single phone number to use for access. This the same as my other bank have been for a long time.

Police report is usually required whenever a document of importance is lost, especially government issued documents (ID, DL etc.) Charge for Thai replacement ID is 100TB, my daughter lost her ID several times so I know the cost. Over 60 (lifetime) ID replacement cost my wife nothing. I even needed a police report to get a new Condo car pass sticker. My Pink ID cost 60TB years ago.

Non Thai can not be added to a House registration book (Blue book) but can obtain a House registration (Yellow Book) based on a Thai Bluebook. The Yellow House registration book is what is need for PR application,
