I just recently sent my paperwork into the Atlanta, GA Honorary Thai Consulate in Atlanta, GA for a tourist visa.  I have done this countless times but I just got an email back from them that the NEXT time I need to apply in person. I also just called and got the same requirement. IN PERSON.  I asked if this applies to the Royal Consulate in Washington, DC and again was told yes.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Plain and simple don't!

My wife loaned her 1st cousin 100k years ago and she is still waiting to see even 1 baht back. Thais have a unending number of excuses. And no I am not Thai bashing. Just plain old common sense.

That is a honorary consulate. Since August of last year no honorary consulate can issue multiple entry visas when the embassy in DC took away their authority to do them. Only the embassy and the 3 official consulates can issue them.

The one issued to me October 2016 was a multiple entry.  The one I have now is a single entry nonimmigrant O.  

Atlanta Thai consulate general. Been using them for years and never a problem.

I expect Gold package users could quickly tell us if they got upgraded to Platinum.

We are on gold and got upgraded to platinum.  For a month. Those on Platinum, according to what I read,  get 1,000 Points added to some kind of card. I didn't pay much attention to the card details. 

We were paying extra to get all the HBO channels and according to the True representative as of 01 January that comes off the bill. We shall see.

I read somewhere that they upgraded everyone by one package level for a period of one month.

As all can see the wife got it all wrong. I called in twice today (01/01/17) and spoke to two different CSR's about the 'where is the discount' I requested 29 December.  "Oh sorry sir we can not give now".  Nothing more can be said.

Sad to hear that another venue of Bangkok's great old days as an entertainment city is about to vanish for good. Why do they have to close? Lease running out? Or is the land lord going to bulldoze the entire block in order to build yet another boring shopping center?

I remember the old Thermae. What a bizarre place - and that was exactly what made it so interesting. I stopped frequenting it after it moved a couple of blocks down the road. It just wasn't the same anymore.

Then there was of course the original Napoleon Lounge in Patpong (it later moved to Sukhumvit Soi 33 and never really kicked off there).

Also in Patpong was Crown Royal, a delightful drinking place with an ingenious owner (Izzy).

Not sure if other classic Patpong venues like Gaslight, Mizu's Kitchen or Madrid still exist. Haven't been to Patpong in more than a decade.

Madrid is still there and I use to get the EB regularly but the last few times I got EB it was less than desirable. And stopped ordering same from there!

BS with the vet way. We have two Shih tzus. Dad and son. Had Dad fixed. What a mistake. Bloated up. Wife wants the son fixed. No way.

There are moments of I wonder but in the end I trust her completely.

My moments maybe due to my own failings.

Every New Years it is the same routine. I go with the wifey and her niece to 'pay' for all the food they will cook.

The relatives, freeloaders, a few dogs come up to drink and eat the food. I make my customary three minute appearance and disappear into the house to ring in the New Years with our two dogs. Same Same Same
