  1. Every New Years it is the same routine. I go with the wifey and her niece to 'pay' for all the food they will cook.

The relatives, freeloaders, a few dogs come up to drink and eat the food. I make my customary three minute appearance and disappear into the house to ring in the New Years with our two dogs. Same Same Same

  2. ""We still have some very difficult missions around the world — including in Iraq," Obama said. But, he added, "the world is better, it's safer, it's more peaceful, it's more prosperous and our homeland protected because of you.""

Talk about putting a spin on something. Needs to take off his blinders and look around more closely.

  3. With what is going on around the World, ISIS, Japanese men joining them, some Americans are trying also, China and Russia makeing close fly-bys with US aircraft, Russia in the Ukraine, hot spots all over the World . Do I hear World War 3? What is going on, Are we all going crazy or what?

    SNIPPED...

Think of just how many things could be done to ease world suffering with $19 billion dollars.

    Not much at all!

  4. Where I live, village in Nongbulamphu, close to Nonsang I am continually amazed at the number of Tom and Dee relationships there are. A lot of the Dee's have a farang on the string somewhere but are in a relationship with a Tom. And I do not mean a few couples but many.

  5. I always pay it using the Online TOT website that others have noted using a credit card. Whether I am local in Nongbulamphu or in the states. I use a credit card that does not charge fees or exchange rate surcharges. One of few things that actually works AOK.

  6. Personally I do not see what all the worry is about if you have a level head and do not mingle with the protesters. The Sakaeo significant other and I came into BKK on election day and stayed on Sukhumvit. We are back and staying 100m down on Soi 19 and Sukhumvit. You just go with the flow and stay street smart.

  7. This is not an answer to the OP's question but a comment. It is election time in the village we live in on 19 February .

Six different groups of people vying for whatever the positions are. They come around in teams to solicit her vote. Team A swept our

street. Team B cut the grass on our Soi. Team C and Team D offered 500 bt for her vote and the other 1500 bt for her vote. None of which

is guaranteed for she will probably not vote or vote depending which way the wind is blowing.

If I could vote it would be the team who would actually fix the Soi as it meets the main road. There is a 15m gap and it is like driving over the moon's landscape but no one

pays any attention to the farang.

  8. Since you are a US resident there will be no problem for you to get a tourist visa in the US.

You can find a list of the various honorary Thai consulates in the US here. http://www.visetkaew.com/wp/directories/

If you use an honorary consulate you would be best to contact them to find out if you have to go to the honorary consulate with your documentation. The Atlanta, Georgia consulate will no longer accept an application by mail (UPS/Fed X). You have to go to the consulate in person. They than will send it back to you. They were told by the Thai consulate in DC to no longer accept mailed in applications. I know first hand for I contacted them first.

  9. If they are found ,could you please ask them to come and dognap next doors dog ,at least we would not have to put up with his barking all the time.tongue.png

I am so sorry about that. Tesco and Big C (father and son Shih tzu) have driven me insane too. The wife will not have it in pawning them off to someone
