Will gold shops buy non-Thai 18k gold
proton replied to Sandboxer's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Same abroad they dont usually want un hallmarked Thai gold -
Anti corruption not anti agent. People doing things legitimately are victims of bribes paid via agents. Not only do we have to keep money in the bank longer now in a futile effort to stop the fraudsters, we have to wait longer in the office when an agent pushes in front of the line with a handful of pass ports. Of course it makes sense to keep 400/800k in the bank if you do not have 65k a month income- that's how you legally stay here on extensions. Immigration corruption is certainly not victimless.

Not impartial or in any way reasonable, just hysterical. In the 1930's people were leaving Nazi Germany, today the UK is being invaded by illegal immigrants. Hardly a sensible comparison. All we are trying to do is stop them. -
Justice and an end to corruption needs to follow on from these arrests, nothing to do with bad luck. I think it's wishful thinking to to hope nothing will ever be done about people getting extensions through bribery when they are not entitled to one. Around 20 years ago they raided agents who were routinely doing visa runs for people without them leaving home, they were just getting the passports stamped at the border. People were confident then that would carry on and there was nothing wrong with it

Stoped appearing in concerts some time ago, Mrs says she wants to start her troupe up again. Saw her at Wat Klong Suan 4-5 years ago, disappointing sound, almost a whisper. Her shows were great entertainment. She told me she was 26 when she recorded this one

The rot set in under Tony Blairs term in office. Learn from Thailand, stick all illegals into nasty detention centres and leave them there until they pay their fare home, after all they paid about 1500 quid to get on a boat. The incentive to enter illegally has to end, the costs and damage to society are just not sustainable. No Hotels, hand outs or money. The Tories have been just as useless as Labour, they all say they want to reduce immigration but it keeps on going up, the illegals are only a part of the problem.

Knew about her sex problems, bit odd to make it public, did not know she had split up with him, she has 2 sons from previous marriage. Hers was one of the first Thai tapes I bought in '94. Years ago at a big M150 concert I gave her a mali and she heard some comment in the crowd, she told them off and said I knew more about Thai music than most of them. Used to see her a lot at one time. She still has a voice, a few others of her generation sound pretty awful now. Her book is quite interesting.
