  1. He also knocked back the Republic of Ireland manager role in March. Perhaps he knew there was something more appealing coming along?.....
  2. Can't see it personally but there are worse candidates. He has been manager of the under 21's for 3 years so he certainly knows all the good young ones coming through. You should have a couple of quid on that - might be a good shout.
  3. Never liked him but begrudgingly have to admit he was a good player. Perfect example of good player doesn't mean good manager. I'd be surprised if he was offered a job in the Championship, no chance of getting the England job (I hope).
  4. My bad, looks like 6 shared the golden boot. 1. Dani Olmo Spain 3 (0) 2 5 341 = Georges Mikautadze Georgia 3 (1) 1 4 346 = Cody Gakpo Netherlands 3 (0) 1 6 525 = Ivan Schranz Slovakia 3 (0) 0 4 334 = Jamal Musiala Germany 3 (0) 0 5 423 = Harry Kane England 3 (1) 0 7 605 Normal settling rules mean you should have had 1/6th off your stake applied to the odds you took. Assists etc. shouldn't come into it.
  5. Don't think I would want a sandwich made by that face. Think you might get extra 'special sauce' if you didn't keep an eye on him whilst he was making it....
  6. How did your bet work out? I would have thought that you would have been settled at half stake as a pay-out. That's the usual way with Bet365 as a tied outcome. Be interested to know the outcome.
  7. They will probably go for Potter or Howe. I think they will go for an English manager. If they do consider a foreign boss then anyone but Mourinho please 🙏
  8. And that's why he tried explaining it to an assistant manager who speaks English well, and not a waitress.
  9. Totally agree. As soon as they (I'm talking bar girls, not all Thai women) have an inkling that you may not be fresh off the plane and naïve, they will move on to their next prey. Doesn't make them bad - they just know not to waste too much time on you. It's their job after all.
  10. 8 happy hour priced beers and a short time followed by a chicken kebab. Don't think I would get that past the Mrs. though - she doesn't like me eating chicken.
  11. Hadn't we established that susanlea was the new incarnation of sparktrader/bignok/uttaradit/dolf? I get a bit confused.......
  12. One more thing to add, whether it's of use or not. My mate has started flying with Eva from Schipol, Amsterdam to BKK. He flys premium economy/elite both ways. He has just booked a round trip AMS-BKK-AMS for £890. That's over £500 cheaper than the same flight from the UK. Obviously there are additional costs involved flying from UK to Amsterdam but it's still a big saving (especially for 2 people). Only real downsides are their schedule is 3 days a week and he spends a night in Amsterdam on the return leg (which some may view as a bonus but probably not applicable to you as you will be heading back to BKK)) due to the arrival time of the flight.
  13. Safe journey and enjoy your trip 👍
  14. About 20 years ago I had a gun pulled on me by a drunk Thai bar owner on Samui for beating him in a game of darts. Knew the guy pretty well but obviously didn't return to that bar. Think he wasn't happy that I was showboating and checked out on 90 with double top and bullseye 🎯 555
  15. Nice bet. Best of luck. It helps that Harry takes the penalties during normal time. 👍
  16. I'm not entirely sure what you are asking but if it is to upgrade from Economy to Elite or from Elite to Royal Laurel then it is certainly not cheap. I flew Eva London to Bangkok last month. Before departure I was invited to bid for an upgrade online. It was based on a 'swingometer'. To upgrade from Economy to Elite, a 500 Euro bid was poor, 750 Euro fair. To upgrade from Elite to Royal Laurel, 1,450 euros was poor/fair borderline. These figures were one way only. You can ask at the airport - either check-in or baggage drop. I have even seen people upgrade on the plane using credit card/swipe machine. I don't believe they offer any 'bargains' though. 200 Euros might tempt me but certainly not the amounts they were asking for. That aside, I much prefer to fly Eva over Thai Airways on the LHR-BKK-LHR route.
  17. Think you might need to edit that one. Bob's off to Koh Samet, not Samui. Or do you not like Samui aswell? 555
  18. I don't know about a film but I'm willing to bet that we will hear about them on the TV news channels. Enjoy your weekend Bob 👍
  19. Yes, but that is called sustenance, not a holiday.
  20. I applied for a SETV in April via the UK online system. It was a much simpler process and was received in 48 hours. I seem to recall I only provided evidence of address (bank statement although financials not required), passport biometrics page, return flight confirmation and confirmation of first 2 nights hotel booking (Agoda voucher). I didn't have to upload the previous document for various sections stating "not required for SETV". There was a slight delay with the payment process but received the payment receipt after about 12 hours.
  21. I seem to recall Bangkok airways domestic flights having no row 13. Could be imagining that though?
  22. LHR - BKK return I always use EVA. Flight times suit me for both outbound and return plus direct flights. Their reward program is also pretty good. Have had gold status for many years now and from checking in to baggage reclaim, it makes the whole journey more enjoyable. Not necessarily the cheapest but it works for me.
  23. I don't have any tattoos myself but the only thing I would consider is having my blood group tattooed on my upper arm. Could come in handy in the event of a serious accident.
  24. Bearing in mind you are all one and the same person, are you really surprised?
  25. I'm just having a couple of bottles of beer Lao IPA which I am finding very agreeable. 70 baht per bottle at my local expat shop (Lamai, Koh Samui). I wish more bars/shops would stock the beer Lao range. I personally think it puts Thai beer to shame. I'm a Singha drinker when out and about.
