  1. I would imagine banks would have policies in place to deal with this sort of thing. Reimbursement would be possible, but not after they put you through the ringer, e.g., the police, long investigation, mountains of paperwork, etc. Consider the bank's position--it wouldn't be difficult to arrange to have someone siphon money out of your account and claim theft. If bank's were to gleefully hand over large sums of money for every alleged theft, there would be a cottage industry for this sort of thing.

Bangkok Banks have seen every Issan scam imaginable and are not going to reimburse cash. They are not idiots like many falongs are. The funny thing is that Issan scams are so simplistic, similar to Philipino scams only simpler

  2.  Immigration are aware of this "loophole" of people undertaking loooooong overstays and then coming back straight in.  Several senior people at Immigration have mentioned to me, they are discussing regulations, that would ban long overstayers from the country for a period of time, similar to the way other countries practise!

Keep your nose clean folks or you could get hit with a stealth new immigration law that no one knows about till it is promulgated with no amnesty period.

The law is the law like it or not.  We are guests and should act like it by respecting the law.

I believe in the law and have abided by it to the letter from day 1; however, I'll believe this stealth change when I see it

  3. yes I am Canadian

Israel is the only country in the middle east that could be destroyed by one crude nuclear bomb.

Look at the language coming out o the president of Iran(who also happens to be a holocaust denier) The Isrealies are simply concerned about their survival, everything you mentioned about ability and holdings is just politics. The middle east is so complicated with Sunni muslim VS Shiite conflict that the only thing keeping them at peace is their hate-on for Israel so anyone backing Iran is unlikely.

Israel just wants to bomb Iranian nuclear sites and go home, Iran is the one that will start the war. Israel bombed a nuclear site in Iraq in 1981 and bombed a nuclear site in Syria in 2007. There was minimal repercussions.

i can only think you are saying these things because you are a gold bug and maybe you could see

your precious metal sky rocketing as a result of World War 3 ?

But be careful what you wish for because the world is very different now from 1981 and even 2007.

Do you think a nuclear armed Pakistan ( a 90% failed state ) plus Syria, Lebannon,Turkey etc

will stand by and allow an unprovoked attack ?

Oil would be the big bet when Isreal attacks Irans nuclear sites. Being a gold bug, I wish that situation was resolved so that the world could peacefully go bankrupt.

Not many of the countries you mentioned support a nuclear armed Iran.

how many support a nuclear Israel

The Middle East is a powderkeg

You're very one-eyed on this, Sokal

was that a nuclear israel or nuke israel. I got confused there; please clarify

  4. As far as I know with an overstay of that length you must be out of the country for 6 months minimum before you can re-enter. But the rules constantly change, and it also depends on each individual immigration office and officer....Yes still 500 per day with a max of 20,000.

totally false info regarding the 6 month thing. wherever you got that info, scrap them as a source

  5. Does anyone know why people go to these full moon drug parties? Is this like some kind of a rock concert or something? I never quite understood. Maybe you could equate this to the stampede at the Who concert in Cincy in 1979. Or maybe that stampede made more sense. What goes on at these moon parties anyway? and what kind of drugs are involved? We've all read about the rapes and murders that happened during them. What is the attraction?

  6. A lot of Turks come here and study in language schools. I know that the language schools push hard for customers and can get your visa done as easily as going to the toilet. I would contact them. They have some flashing ads on the thaivisa forum homepage so it shouldn't be rocket science getting their contact info. I am certain they would be delighted to hear from you and get the job done

  7. This is an awesome report and I greatly appreciate the OP for posting it. There is some interesting and shocking new news in that NJ Books needs to accompany customers to the consulate now. Jeez, thank god my visa run days to Penang ended early this year. I did that trip for 8 years so know it well and the OP is accurate on NJ Books accomodations. I wonder if all agents have to follow this rule of going with agents to the consulate. I imagine that they do and would not be surprised if the reason for this is because of that red shirt on stage jackass who is now behind bars where he belongs. Look what he did for all of us. What a fukking fool

  8. Congrats Tropo, I've been reading about your battles to stay here with her for years now it seems. You're set now. I take it you decided not to gamble with getting the Non-O in Cambo and went to your well known Laos instead or perhaps the Laos trip was even cheaper. I'm headed to Cambo soon but not for a visa run, just a 3 month activation and a wonderful night in PP. LOL
