  1. Enough is enough. These red shirts are holding us all to ransom. time to take action NOW. Clear the streets with the army. :)

......and of course the yellow shirts never "held us to ransom" when they invaded the airports and government house.

Lot of posters with double standards (just like the yellow shirts).

Not important. we're talking about the here and now, the monk*** must be sent home or to jail. that's it

  2. I dont hate the reds in any way shape or form. I wish that Thaksin could have provided some education for these poor people instead of blinding their minds with science. The reds are good people who simply need education. I have a secret feeling that the best thing that could ever happen to this country I love would be to divide it into 2 coutries. Issan could be its own country!!!! now this is a great idea. The rest of Thailand could be itself without all the craziness. I know Bangkok and the South would love this awesome idea. I love my southern wife and she is appalled by the reds doing what they are doing. She wants relaxation and non control by a Bill Gates figure who uses pawns to amass an insane fortune.

  3. I read this quote from the OP and found it to be important

"He followed her out of the processing area and asked for her phone number..."

what on earth is she doing giving her phone number to a customer/stranger in unofficial capacity? And how is a so-called immi boss allowed to leave his desk and follow this lady? Perhaps he's really a toilet cleaner? Perhaps the girl is thrilled by the attention she's receiving in her wonderful new country? Sounds like she's more interested in getting flirted with than her "bf". I asked my wife what she's do in the situation. she said she's tell him that she doesnt have a phone and uses her husband's phone. Sounds like a fishy story

  4. Hi, getting married soon and need to know particulars on obtaining a multi-entry marriage visa in the region. I'm going to Vientiane on holiday next month for 4 days. Can I scoop one up there? If so, what docs would I need? How about Penang, same questions? If only single in both places, what docs are needed for each? Not really interested in going to KL or elsewhere, just info on these 2 places would be great. Thanks a lot

  5. Here are the steps. You don't need an agent.

    1. Get affirmation from embassy it takes at least 24 hours. See this UK embassy webpage. http://ukinthailand.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for...gister-marriage

    2. Take affirmation to a translator. From my own personal experience it will be quiker and easier to have the translator handle the the certification at the MFA. What they charge won't be much more than taxi fare to the MFA twice.

List of reccomended translators from US embassy (I have used #5) http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/tra...otographers.pdf

    3. Go to the Amphoe (district office) and register your marriage. Info here: http://www.dopa.go.th/English/servi/marry.htm

    4. Take marriage certificate and any other documents to translator that require translation for visa application.

    5. Apply for visa.

I want to thank ubonjoe here. After being quoted 12-15K baht for agents to do the marriage docs and such, I found this post and went to ubon's recommended agent as listed above and on US embassy website. I'm glad I went to ITC (interlanguage). I almost shelled out 12K to a ripoff agent. Instead I went to ITC, across from brit embassy, and got them to translate and go to MFA for me to get translation certified. Cost of service was 500 baht plus 500 for translation and 800 for MFA fee. Man I'm happy. I go back in 3 days to collect docs and to bang rak ampur for marriage. Highly recommended. Dont pay other agents ripoff fees unless you got something against cash

  6. I told an immi guy at airport not to use one of my tourist visa entries once. He was extremely polite and seemed very helpful. He had me initial near my visa in passport. I thought i was initialing to say I did not want to use an entry that time. I was in a situation similar to OP. I later found out that in fact they gave me a visa exempt AND negated my entry. OP beware. My thinking is that immi cannot do what he's asking. I appreciate the mods saying they should be helpful but my experience is that they seem to be but maybe their hands are tied or something. OP, please report back what happens, I'm curious

  7. I said he moved to Penang. He lives there now. He was so pissed by Thai immigration rules that he decided to go and spend his money in Malaysia.

This is an attitude I don't understand. Thailand, as well as every other country on the face of the planet, has a right to determine its own policies for granting the privilege of entry into their country. It is not our personal playground. For the vast majority of us, Thailand's policies are much softer than those of the countries we come from. And this idea that any one of us makes a significant impact on the Thai economy is laughable.

I don't understand what you don't understand. He was fed up with Thai immigration rules and moved to another country, where they don't make life so complicated to tourists. He didn't start a rally vs immigration policies.

"Thailand's policies are much softer than those of the countries we come from." I am married. My wife has no problem to live in my country, has all benefits as me (free medical care, pension when old.........) and soon she will have my citizenship together with her Thai citizenship. I am struggling to gather 400k. What are you talking about?

Oh hey, don't mind these thread crashers. They have nothing to offer to help the OP and others concerned about this issue. They are always reading these threads and interjecting combative comments to concerned posters. They enjoy irritating people on this issue of great importance to many.

  8. So then has anyone with a red stamp successfully applied for a new tourist visa?? I am going on holiday in 2 weeks so I will require a new visa...

I doubt you're ever going to read any such report. It's a lot of effort to go through to try something that is likey to fail.

I've heard from an agent that once the free tourist visa period is over in March they may be easing off on the restrictions.

I just got a red stamp yesterday on my 6th tourist visa in passport. I used an agent, so I wouldn't count on them influencing the visa application process.

Hot news: New passport = visa with no red warning stamp even when previous passport had one. New passport = visa even after a previous refusal.

Tropo, whats going on dude? you trying for another double entry visa after you got one a month ago and your filly gf was denied? thai emb threw you a red stamp cause they cant figure out why you need yet another visa after they gave you 1 a month ago. whats going on dude? what were you trying to do? get another double so it would coincide with your gf's double in her new passport? Or you used your entries border crossing with her so she got her 15 days? all seems wacky but like to hear your story. btw, jazzbo and all this homeland security garbage is irrelevant I think but year Tropo lets get something so your gf can hang around a while
