  1. Can't find it the App Store either
  2. Can anyone tell me if the Land Transport Office is open on Friday (2nd) and Monday (5th)? I am not quite clear which are official public holidays.
  3. It is worth mentioning the problems given to landlords. I always register the tenant when he first moves in. After that he is under no obligation to report his movements to me, so how can I be liable. The tenant is also not obliged to tell me of any change of his visa which might affect reporting requirements. Further, what happens if I am not in Thailand? The tenant is the possessor - full stop. I have tried the website, but all I get back is data not correct without telling me what data is wrong. I believe the app is better, but I cannot get on my iPhone despite the app store being registered in Thailand secured with a Thai credit card. I understand the need for immigration to location of foreigners in the country. However, the application of a bit of brain power could achieve this with more user friendly procedures.
  4. Not only in Pattaya 2 Hong Kong men held over disorderly conduct after allegedly soaking Hong Kong police officers with water gun at Songkran festival | South China Morning Post (scmp.com)
  5. Has anyone got an up-to-date link to download the app on an iPhone. I have tried various links but am being told that the app is not available in my country or region. I cannot find it at all in the App Store. My App Store is set to Thailand, and I have updated it with my Thai credit card.
  6. I am soon going to attempt my first TM 30 0nline for a rented property. I have registered successfully and have downloaded the relevant Excel. Looking at the submission process I have some questions:- What documents do I need to upload (passport, visa, rental contract etc.); I can't see any submit button. How do I submit the TM 30.; and How long does it take to get confirmation and does it come by email. It is not that user friendly in English. Answers to the above questions and any other useful tips would be gratefully received.
  7. Your wills should specifically state that assets in UK/Thailand as appropriate are excluded.
  8. In the case of Immigration "competent official" is an oxymoron.
  9. The requirement for insurance is one issue. Here is a link to Thai Consulate in Hong Kong which clearly shows you do not need it. Entry - Regulation - สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองฮ่องกง (thaiembassy.org) Your only problem will be the airlines. Cathay insists that you do need insurance and cannot get on the plane if you have not got insurance.
  10. The police are the more visible manifestation of corruption in Thailand, but the real problem is much deeper than that. Whether it is a minor civil servant asking for a couple of hundred baht tea money to issue license he is paid to issue or money being ripped out of major infrastructure projects corruption is rife in Thailand. Too many Thais shrug their shoulders and say "that's the way it is". Many hate the corruption, but are powerless to do anything. The police have to be dealt with, but this just treats the symptoms and does nothing to cure the illness.
  11. Did mine at Jomtien today. Approved in one hour.
  12. Why do they use a picture of Hong Kong when the road show aint going there?
  13. Thanks. Looks useful. If you own a number of condos that you rent out, can you register for each premises? For landlords it would be helpful if property agents could get an account in a similar way that hotels do. They could do the report for their clients.
  14. English is back on analogue.
  15. Thanks for all your replies. I re tuned my TV multiple times, but no luck on either digital or analogue. I am now going with YouTube, which works fine.
  16. Recently the Al Jazeera English has been replaced with the Arabic version on Sophon. I have tried ringing Sophon, but can't get a reply. Anyone got an idea what is happening and when we can expect to get the English back.
  17. Came from LHR 2 weeks ago. No one check my vaccination certificate. No insurance, test or TM 6 required at Swampy.
