  1. so would you not help a poor unsuspecting tourist if you could?
  2. over the many years of living in Thailand I have heard the phrase ‘farang know too much, farang mai dee' I started to hear this phrase in bars when i first became proficient in Thai. In my opinion this roughly translates to ‘foreigner who knows too much can’t be taken advantage of like a newbie can' my question is, how does one who lives here long term avoid knowing too much? it would seem to me the longer one lives here then the more wise one gets to their scams. i also regularly feel the urge to help fresh fish like when i see a young naive couple jump into a tuk tuk and the driver tells them 10 baht tour all day I really wanna tell them to get out, its a scam. But as of yet I haven’t done it...
  3. it seems that i have really hit a nerve with this thread. not quite sure why, as i thought it was common knowledge that most taxi drivers that hang around hotels in tourist hot spots are up to no good.
  4. and yet here you are, still commenting on it. haven't you got anything better to do?
  5. dont let the door hit you on the way out.
  6. well seeing as though its what I saw and not you I would say that's correct. unless you also saw something similar?
  7. not nonsense. all happened before my very eyes on Friday. but believe what you want.
  8. give what up? if you dont like my thread then dont post
  9. you weren't in the one I was in then.
  10. so you know what I'm talking about then, dont you.. wait a minute, you're not a taxi driver are you?
  11. you clearly haven't been to a tourist hotspot recently.
  12. from what I have seen they are dangerous, They are now even resorting to going up to tourists sat in restaurants eating with their city tour placards and waving them in their faces. it's disgusting, and if they ever did that to a family member of mine in my presence I would clock him square on the chin.
  13. this country has gone to the dogs, big time. nothing but cronyism, nepotism and corruption.
  14. a tourist ghetto. doesn't matter which one, they are all alike.
  15. can anyone shed some light on these vermin? what is with their attitude toward farangs? They hurl abuse at those who ignore them and walk past, and follow them aggressively. dont they remember covid time? when they had no money to feed their families for 3 years? do these people just love biting the hand that feeds them? how about a bit of professionalism and common courtesy for a change.. its no wonder a lot of foreigners hold such a negative opinion of the locals when this is all that most will see. your average faring isn't coming for a 3 week holiday to Korat or Udon. They mostly go to the tourist hotspots and these aggressive locals need sorting out pronto because they are giving a bad impression to tourists.
  16. Thailand loves to make a mountain out of a molehill. We all know that overstaying a visa isn't a huge issue in the grand scheme of things. But because Thai people are so inept at most things, overstayers are an easy win for them given the current 90 day report system that is in place. Try getting them to investigate a real crime and they haven't got a prayer.
  17. Cos they are pillocks mate.
  18. martial farts
