  1. What is the noise source ? Noise will pass through the seals between the movable frame and the static frame. The glass itself will act as a diaphragm and retransmit the noise from outside to in. you can try some painters tape on the seal edge to see if that cuts down on sound leakage. For the retransmission, your idea of outside or inside dense plants could help. Heavy curtains, if allowed, can help some..
  2. Not going to argue with you. We have some different experiences with polyurethane and varnish coated table tops, mine with children. Working with rubber tree wood is out of my experience so the surface oils comment was only offered for awareness. yes, thinning sanding sealer would not make sense. My experience is with 4# cut and i did not include that detail. Thank you for for explaining the details.
  3. Based on the environment and threats previously listed, no finish will last more than a few years. Given the high humidity, many thin coats of polyurethane or spar varnish, possibly with a drying accelerant, i would expect would be required based on my experience along the US Gulf coast. Expect to re-coat every few years. if there are surface oils on the rubber tree wood, a good wipe down with alcohol before applying finishes would be a good idea. An alternative would be a thinned coat or two of shellac as a base.
  4. Wisebond clear self leveling epoxy finish for bars and same for floors https://www.wisebond.com/collections/bar-table-top-countertop-epoxy-resin
  5. Take a look at clear epoxy used for bar tops and floors something like this https://www.homedepot.com/b/Paint-Interior-Paint-Countertop-Paint/WiseBond/N-5yc1vZc61sZq2k Also, consider an overlay of polycarbonate. I would not use acrylic sheet as it scratches too easily.
