  1. 555 For the same reason we have international standards to help push / pull the world to a “better” state of life, on average, instead of circling the drain in a whirlpool of naval gazing. 555
  2. I would guess the reason Linux has not taken off, with the exception of servers, is because of the heavy investment by businesses in Windows as a user system and the software supporting business is written for Windows. The same complaint can be made by users of Macs in their various flavors. Linux is a niche system. So is Mac. Profitable software is written for the lowest common denominator as that is the largest set of buyers. IBM found that out with OS/2.

Maybe AoT is being subjected to a certification inspection by ICAO . i think all structures over certain height and those within certain distance on approach paths near airports have to have red beacons at highest point.
  4. The air pressure keeps the treads in contact with the road and the sidewalls at the intended roundness. Increase the load and the sidewalls bulge out, locally heating up that can lead to premature failure. Increasing the tire pressure corrects that. Remove the load and the tire tends to round out reducing the amount of tread in contact with the road - dangerous for control. Reducing tire pressure puts the treads back on the road.
  5. RIP young people. at least it would have been quick. tough extraction . doesn’t appear to have had much fire post impact. those are the worst.
  6. get your lungs checked . Many different possibilities. one example, though more for younger folks https://www.webmd.com/lung/walking-pneumonia
  7. It’s moral outrage at “da man” . No cure but winning the lotto.
  8. Well, you've closed the loop now. So the cognitive dissonance should be peaking. Only flipping a coin and seizing the day will resolve.
  9. Huawei or one of the other chinese phones. Build quality may be medium. The Samsung S series tablets are their best build quality approaching the iPad. The A series may do what you want though. Seriously, a 9th or 10th generation ipad is the sweet spot for price/performance now. My old SS S7 is holding up without issues, but i only use wifi. Qualcom radio chips are usually more robust than anyone else’s. I would definitely not chase wifi 7 or 6e. Wifi 6 is plenty and well established hardware and drivers. Wifi 7 just got formalized, so hardware and drivers will be chaotic for about another year. It will take many more years before you see access points widely available in commercial locations with wifi 7.
  10. GG, for that price you are in laptop territory. Think of it as a tablet with a free keyboard attached. Have a look at the M1 or M2 macbooks or airs. If you can’t consort with Apple, then look at the Lenovo Yoga or similar from last years models. Then get a cheap samsung phone for the occasional call.
