  1. You gotta be a bit savvy with online shopping in thailand. Remove any farang name attached to any type of account. Thai only dialogue so gotta team up with the Mrs or..... But providing you are a bit savvy, then returns and scams are minimal. Identify the item, perform a quick check of their feedback scores, ensure location of item, send link to Mrs, job done.
  2. Seems odd. Have visited many foreclosed properties and normally the residents are still there whist the house is being sold from under them. Grim and awkward
  3. Having your own dedicated access to the internet is a must anywhere now. Reliance on WIFI is a begpacker type request. Sorry to say but there's zero upside to sharing WIFI, security issues, lack of portability, shoddy connections. If i was a hotel i'd get rid of it too. Its over.
  4. Our son speaks English at home and he speaks thai and lao, but i reckon he is a bit behind on those two. Not worried at all as he seems to catch on quickly with languages and is a touch rusty on thai and lao due to a lack of use. Our sons favourite videos are " big boy youtuber" grown men playing games and commentating on gameplay. Some Yank words have entered and last week he joked I was the stinkiest guy in the neighbourhood. I never try to explain to people who ask him " do you speak thai" i just advise him to answer like mommy speaks. An English chap once asked him something in thai and he responded correctly in English. Good guy but always room for improvement.
  5. Never insured our child but in 6 years he has only had a couple of colds. Vaccinations, we think have played a part. He has had EU vaccinnes in addition to mandatory thai vaccines. All in all about 15 injections over 4 years. Every time we have been offered insurance the sales pereon think we are interested in the payout. Bit off putting but we never reqlly pushed this subject. Touch wood.
  6. You might well be ok but step in the wrong boozer and you might get a begbie and rents special. Choose life.
  7. A restaurant which i like and had never tried until 2 years ago is MK. Usually in a big C. Never tried that hot pot cook your own deal. They have decent sized portions of HK style braised beef, healthy broiled chicken leg and some tasty duck options. Normally go there after shopping. Easily feeds 3 of us for under 500 baht. Be cautious when paying, their system is a bit weird. Keep track of table reciepts.
  8. Nmax like above comment have over taken the PCX for comfort and style. My only reservation about some nmax new models, they appear a bit big. Not ideal for whizzing thru traffic. Mine is 2019 a smaller profile and very good for city a 2 b.
  9. Im surprised they do not have options for late night drivers and premium charges. I would pay a premium for late night delivery, same with restaurants, incentivise them to be open later or different times.
  10. These delivery apps do let you down when you most need them. The restaurants and the apps then take way too long to decide to cancel and that then defeats all purpose of the apps. I prefer grabbing my own grub to these apps. The last straw for me was when i realised the riders had figured out how to collect two or three orders and make your food cold and wait way too long.
  11. IMO thats not common and that can present a problem to some people who need proof of a 1 year rental contract for certain visas.
  12. 1k baht a year x 3, 4 people you know, who do not know each other.
  13. Well then, looks like you got a 3rd bite of the cherry so put you big boy pants on and go and command the situation and ensure all is as it should be. It's on finance so it's gotta go through a few more hurdles than a cash deal. All that being said, you are from that industry so best to be there and provide some calm support. Last car we brought the sales man did not know Jack, was too excited, albeit a nice guy. Being present was key in getting all done and its not like its an everyday occurrence so find the time and maybe one day when you have the knowledge, you can share it with someone who is where you are now. Pay it forward type of deal.
  14. Pity or fear. Harsh review anyway. Keyboard warrior caught out.
  15. 2k can get you a <deleted>oni BG50. Decent phone with decent weather resistance, specifically developed with Begpacker friendly apps pre-installed, Patreon and gofundme straight out of the box.
  16. Normally all printer shops will have such a service. If you know where they are where you are, worth enquiring.
  17. Its new sim card time. Just chuck the old one away head south for a few months. Have a couple of months on the beach with a cocktail and move on. 31 is too old now anyway, its a win win.
  18. You should chill out a bit, have a beer or something.
  19. Many many estates here are mutton dressed as lamb.
  20. The full story is very funny.
  21. Proof of onward travel is wise and should put the airline at ease. Showing an email with booking is all they needed to alleviate that concern.
  22. The stuff they sell in shops is really high grade, it's Skunk type stuff. It shocked me to see it. I expected Thai stick or a lower grade version that was not so blatent. The stuff they are supplying is no different to gear available in the dam. Way too strong. Got 40 pecker joints of 2g, lasted 3 weeks.
