Pounds/CAD, the result is the same. The matter was discussed further down in the thread, read it! -
I had an appointment at Rutnin two weeks ago, the place was extremely busy. That said, with an appointment I sailed through their system very smoothly and was seen on time. Rutnin does have an emergency system, it sounds like the OP's problem wasnt in that category.

Thai banks unaffected by two recent US bank failures

That's business and consumer debt, not public debt, private debt is not a part of GDP. -

I checked Bangkok/Heathrow yesterday, just out of curiosity. 32,000 baht return for travel in June, not much above what I might have paid via Etihad pre covid. momondo.com -

Silicon Valley Bank collapses after failing to raise capital
nigelforbes replied to Scott's topic in World News
SVB is not just a bank that serves Start ups in Silicone Valley it's an international bank that serves tech start ups globally. HSBC just bought SVB UK for one Pound, that means the tech start up companies in the UK will be allowed to continue to employee the large numbers of people they employ and to continue developing their companies. The alternative to that is the bank is allowed to collapse and large numbers of people become unemployed and the entire tech start up sector disseminated. Banks are interconnected, Credit Suisse is already under attack from short sellers as a result of this, the other major banks also. CS has now delayed its AGM because their annual report will show they also are holding bonds with a lower than face value. This is no different from many of the other large banks except they are able to weather the storm because the capital adequacy and liquidity requirements are higher. If those banks are coming under pressure now, imagine what would have happened if the Treasury hadn't stepped in! -

If you think it's hysteria, go read the papers and understand what's happening there right now in the banking sector then come back and tell me again it's hysteria. -
I'm being treated by Dr Roy at the Rutnin in Bangkok who is about as expert in this field as anyone. I saw him two weeks ago when he assessed that all was fine except my symptoms changed last week whilst on holiday in bright sunlight. I wrote to Dr Roy to ask what I should do and he replied today saying that the excessive spiders webs and flashing is consistent with vitreous contamination (my term) and that at some point in the future, if/when the lens is replaced, the contamination can be removed. Whether or not there is an element of posterior retinal detachment is unclear.

NO! The entire global banking system was just protected, if the solution had been any different or if there hadn't been one, the domino's would quickly begin to fall. Anyone with funds over the 250K insured limit would have withdrawn their funds from the smaller banks and put them on deposit with systemically important banks. The smaller banks would then have had liquidity problems and would have been pushed over the edge into the hands of the FDIC. The contagion from that would spread globally, it could easily have been the start of the end of the financial world as you know it. You should be extremely thankfully that people have acted. -
Interesting. My retinal tear was misdiagnosed at first by what was supposed to be a professor of Ophthalmology and a retinal expert but who later turned out to be a student who was subbing one Saturday afternoon. All fine she said, normal. Three weeks later during the follow up visit with the real deal (which I almost didn't bother going to), the tear was instantly spotted and said expert panicked, laser now, quickly. I'd already waited one week after the floater first appeared because I hadn't understand the significance so repair was four weeks late. The following day I had the laser repair but quickly lost all confidence in the expert and headed South to Bangkok and the Rutnin. There's something warming about being under the care of someone who is genuinely expert.

I have a sneaky feeling that if the Thai Revenue really wanted to talk to the OP they would get his address from the bank, either that or just freeze his account until he contacted them. -
Let them double up, the Indians do! They definitely can't come here during low season, that's a non-starter because that's when we go on holiday and we want the place to our selves. Whatever next! And what's wrong with the beach, when I was a lad it was the done thing to sleep on the beach at night in Cote d'Azure. Build new hotels indeed! The idea is to make money, not spend it, TAT wont like your idea one little bit.

All joking aside Harvey.....but first, you really should get someone to show you how to use the quote function et al because it looks hilarious. When Brits say, "our money", I understand the sentiment but most often it comes from people who don't pay tax and have told HMRC that they live in Morecambe when really they live in Pattaya. That means they get paid pension increases, heating allowance, Xmas bonus etc etc. You see the hypocrisy. Anyway, I know that a fine upstanding fellow kike you would never do such things so all's good.

I've had my Vigo since new in 2013 and I like it, at 73 I can't see me wanting to sell it and buy a new one. The engine has 152k on the clock, it's a 4 door auto. It runs well because it's been taken care of and serviced regularly, just like me! ???? But the time will come where I will need to do something, it's not getting any younger. I wouldn't trust an engine/trans rebuilder here but I would trust Toyota to put a new engine and trans in which I reckon shouldn't be too expensive. My question is, has anyone done this with brand new kit from Toyota and if so, what are the ballpark costs, please?
