Regardless of how you view it, if shops are selling illegal extract products or not, or whether there are legal consequences or not, that is the law. In fact, the government is aiming to reduce the 0.2% THC limit even further on any extract product that isn't being created by the pharmaceutical industry strictly for medical use. So flowers with any amount of THC are no longer an illegal narcotic as on June 2022, but any extract product containing above 0.2% THC still remains an illegal Category 5 narcotic.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_in_Thailand Excerpts copied from the above Wikipedia link: On 9 June 2022, cannabis extracts containing less than 0.2% THC, referred to as industrial hemp, was decriminalized. Cannabis extracts and cannabis products (including edibles, food supplements, cosmetics, etc.) containing more than 0.2% THC by dry weight are still categorized as a Category 5 narcotic.

Sounds good for your needs. But any extracts containing more than 0.2% THC are illegal in Thailand. So probably most people aren't taking that path. People looking for weed here will presumably either be smoking or vaping it. Also, using oils with extracts in a vaporizer or a dab rig aren't good for the respiratory system. Assume you're just ingesting the oil though.

Rule number one when building a new house; never overbuild for the neighborhood. Why? Because you'll never get back out what you invested into it, but, more importantly, if you want to maintain a low profile then don't ever do something like that draws a lot of attention and makes you stick out like a sore thumb. Aside from that, my experience in building or remodeling anything in Thailand is that it takes double the cost and triple the time as originally anticipated. But if you don't mind that, as well as not eating or sleeping enough during the entire construction time of the project, then go for it. In fact, it can be one of the best ways to lose some unwanted weight from the stress around your waist line. 👍🏼

I agree. People have bought into the “strain” hype so heavily for the last couple of decades that for most of them it would be too soul destroying to accept that all they have subscribed too is a bunch of fluff. In fact, almost all varieties these days are a hybrid mix of what was once Sativa and Indica plants. So mixing different strains and smoking them together is actually no different than smoking any single hybrid. Just smoke some good herb, get baked, and enjoy the ride. That’s all there is to it.

Cetrizine is Zyrtec, which is from an older generation of antihistamines that cause drowsiness. I wouldn't suggest it. Fexofenadine, which is Telfast, is a non-sedating antihistamine and a better choice as it is more effective against itchy/allergic reactions and causes no drowsiness. It's probably 3X the price of Zyrtec, but you can find lower cost locally made generics. One pill is all you need for 24 hours.

You're welcome and I hope you can get some answers to your problem quickly. Yes, any decent skin doctor should be able to diagnose it if it is in fact scabies and any hospital pharmacy should be able to provide the right treatment to get rid of it. Perhaps Lindane is still administered by hospital pharmacies under a doctor's supervision, but maybe not by the outside pharmacies. I think the reason so many doctors misdiagnosed it in my case is because I think I told them I had treated for scabies already so maybe they ruled it out too. It wasn't until the last doctor (who ignored my diagnosis) and quickly thought outside the box. That doctor was at Bangkok General Hospital, but that's of course anecdotal information at this point.

I got scabies in Thailand nearly 30 years ago. Presumably from some outdoor gym equipment I sat on while wearing short pants. I had scabies once before overseas and so the terrible itching at night on my inner thighs was already familiar to me. So I immediately treated it with Lindane gel, but it didn't go away. So I ruled that out. Then I went to see various different skin doctors and allergists in Thailand and got all kinds of wrong diagnosis. I was told I had things like folliculitis, heat rash, sweat rash, allergic reactions to all kinds of foods I eat regularly, etc. All a complete waste of time and only made the situation worse and more depressing because I wasn't getting any closer to getting rid of it. Meanwhile, it went on for 9 months, often with very little restful sleep at night. It started becoming soul destroying. I persisted though and didn't give up trying to figure what it was and eventually I went to see another skin doctor (the 4th or 5th already at that point). He didn't bother to look at the rash on my inner thighs and immediately asked me if I had itching between my fingers and so I said, yes, a little at times. So he took a straight razor and scraped along my knuckles and then stuck it under a microscope. Then he called me over to look for myself. It was indeed scabies and they were very unpleasant looking creatures. I told him I had treated for scabies already and he asked me how many times. I had only treated once with Lindane though and one needs to treat at least twice about 10-14 days apart and I had already forgotten the correct protocol from the first time I had it years prior. The reason two treatments are needed is because the first treatment kills the live ones and the second treatment kills the eggs after they hatch, which aren't usually killed by the first treatment. Needless to say you will also need to wash all bedding and towels and put everything in a hot clothing dryer, possibly more than once, and then possibly repeat after a week to be sure. Two further things to note; Lindane isn't sold in pharmacies in Thailand anymore as far as I know because of its toxicity (it's an actual pesticide). Not sure what they use to treat it with now because my experience with it was so long ago. Presumably they have something else available that can kill them as easily. Also, scabies don't bite. So they don't cause any hard bumps or welts like an insect bite. They only lay eggs under the skin and it's the eggs that cause the immense itching at night. If you scratch often and long enough then the area can get very inflamed and resemble many different kinds of rashes, thus making it harder to diagnose. As someone said, it isn't an STD, but it can be spread by close human contact, clothing, towels, furniture, etc. In my case my partner (who was living with me at the time) never got it from me during that 9 month period. That was another reason I ruled out scabies because it usually spreads pretty fast to anyone else living within close quarters. Best wishes with finding out what you have.

I agree. If you really have got good stuff with 25%-30% THC levels then why would you sell it for a fraction of the market price? Why would you even need to? Nobody is going to be fooled by the advertising. And why not offer it as what it really is? If you state the actual THC level (even if it's only 6%-8%) then people who are looking for something cheap to smoke may still buy it at those prices. Sheet, people pay a tremendous amount of money just for useless tobacco and all that stuff do is kill you. In defense of this low grade stuff though, even if it is quite low in THC, you can just smoke more of it and still get high. Personally I rather consume higher quality stuff and not put the extra wear and tear on the respiratory system though.

There is never any shortage of non-users who needlessly spew misguided assumptions. For many people, THC makes their thoughts clearer, happier and more positive, improves their quality of life, and it helps them in ways that many other substances never can.

Is cannabis legal for foreigners in Thailand? Know the rules

What the banks provide is an SMS notification after an outgoing transaction has occurred. What they don’t provide is an OTP via SMS text message with a code that needs to be entered back into the banking app (for security purposes) before the outgoing electronic funds transfer transaction can be completed. UOB definitely doesn’t offer it and SCB, KBANK, and BBL don’t seem to offer it either.
-
The majority of bank transfer fraud could be fully prevented if the banks would require an OTP be sent to the mobile phone number registered on the account before any electronic transfers can occur out of the account. But the banks don’t offer that as a security measure unfortunately. Short of that, most of the big banks allow you to set daily transfer limits to very low limits in their banking apps. Setting these daily limits very conservatively will prevent accounts from getting fully cleared out within a matter of minutes. Again, the issue is the default limits on the apps are by default pretty high. So people should reduce the daily limits immediately from the app after setting up their online banking. Or just disable outgoing electronic transfers on accounts completely from the banking app if the facility isn’t needed, which is another great security option.

Savings accounts will not print a BF entry when there are transactions to update. If no new transactions then it will print just a BF. Try inserting your passbook a second time after it updates your recent transactions and then you will get a BF entry. Or if you insert it at time when there are no transactions to update you should also also get an updated BF printed entry.

Thank you. Understood. That’s good information. But there are also two other possible Immigration issues with the type of locked bank account used for a bank credit card guarantee. First is if the bank would be willing to include the balance of this type of account within the bank account balance letter for Immigration. The second question is if a small deposit can be made into this type of an account on the date of the visa renewal each year so that you can get the passbook updated to show to Immigration.
-
Assuming the bank would be willing to provide a letter for immigration purposes showing both of the 2 account balances, the trickier thing might be trying to update the passbook balance for the account which has the frozen funds that are being locked up for the credit card since that account won’t have any deposit or withdrawal activity on it.

I’m considering taking a portion of the 800K Baht I already have on deposit with the bank for my visa extension and then putting that money into a separate bank account at the same bank. The purpose for this would be to lock up a portion of the money in a separate account with the bank as a guarantee in order to qualify to get a credit card issued from the bank. So for example, if I had two bank accounts going forward from the same bank, one with 750K Baht and the other one with 50K Baht, would Immigration accept submitting two different bank books, but from the same bank and with a combined balance of 800K Baht in order to meet the financial requirements for extending the annual visa on the basis of retirement? I assume the bank would also be able to give me one letter for Immigration purposes that shows the combined 800K balance of the two accounts?

Just to clarify, Apple Pay and Apple Wallet are technically two different things, even though they are both often simply referred to as Apple Pay. Apple Pay means making a payment using wireless tap and go on your phone, which then gets charged to you through your Apple ID/account. This does not work yet in Thailand. What I meant to say in my previous post is that Apple Wallet allows you to add overseas debit and credit cards to the Apple Wallet on an iPhone and then you can make tap and go payments in Thailand anywhere that they accept contactless tap and go card payments. I have already used this method successfully at 7-11, Villa Market, Tops, Central, Foodland, Big-C, etc. Also, with Google Wallet in Thailand you can only add local cards from Bangkok Bank and Krungthai credit cards and not their debit cards according to a recent Bangkok Post article. Apple Wallet might come to Thailand soon though to allow local bank cards to be added to the app knowing that Apple Wallet is already operating with local bank cards in many countries in Asia and recently opened up in SE Asia in Malaysia.

Retirement Visa - Changing Bank Accounts?
HugoFastor replied to HugoFastor's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thank you. I assume the requirement to keep the full 800K Baht in the subject Thai bank account for 90 days after the extension has been granted, and not allowing the remaining bank account balance to fall below 400K Baht for the duration of the 1 year visa extension, all becomes moot once you present a different bank account at the next visa extension renewal which shows 12 months of bank account history together with a balance of 800K Baht during the preceding 12 months? -
I read that Google Wallet recently launched in Thailand and that it will now allow you to add cards from two Thai banks: Bangkok Bank and Krungthai Bank. I’m not certain though if Google Wallet works with debit cards from these two banks or if Google Wallet only accepts credit cards from these two Thai banks. But my question is if anyone has tried adding a Bangkok Bank debit card to an Apple Wallet yet and if it has been successful?
