  3. some people only care about getting famous, clicks, views. i like it when someone posts content that actually has a message behind it. like this. he may have a good point here.
  4. youtube has some corruption. most of the large channels with millions of followers are the crappiest. many of them are funded by large companies. so they have financing, expensive equipment, a team filming for them, etc... this guy is traveling around the world. that costs a lot of money and he may be financed ... and maybe they have money to influence the youtube algorithms so their videos always come out on top.
  5. who is mark wiens? exactly. smiling is an art form. don't overuse it or you will look tacky and like a fake wannabe.
  6. some of the biggest channels on youtube are also the crappiest channels. buyer beware. big nok, be sure to smile in your videos.
  7. go pro . or buy a cheap chinese knockoff if the price is too steep. onlyfans? wut?
  8. english is better. just add thai subtitles. much larger audience in english. if you travel a lot all over thailand, you should start a youtube channel.
  9. Because JimTripper needs a mentor. And that would be YOU.
  10. I saw a Youtube channel where a guy was visiting condos in Hua Hin. There's some stuff on Youtube ... might save you some time.
  11. Russians don't care about your smile. They're very pragmatic people and they know your smile won't solve their problems.
  12. someone mentioned that if you keep 800K in a thai bank, it's not gaining interest. but a lot of retired folks who stay in their home country will travel during winter months, so that costs several thousand per year anyway.
  13. yes, you are right. that's the best way to live. what a messed up world if no one is ever smiling.
  14. ok i'll work on it. thanks. good point about dalai lama. but he never had to worry about the same problems as most normal folks. he's basically born into royalty.
  15. FYI: here is a list of some of the nomad visas with the lowest requirements. https://www.travelinglifestyle.net/these-7-countries-offer-digital-nomad-visas-with-less-than-1500-salary-requirement/ Colombia offers a 2 year visa and the minimum income requirement is $684/month. Ecuador is also 2 years. Oh, the article also states that Bermuda cost of living is very high.
  16. Not sure. you can have a look at the official website. https://forms.gov.bm/WFB
  17. Not everyone goes through life with unremitting good fortune. There may be health issues, emotional issues caused by distress of divorce, etc ... some people need to battle alcoholism. There are all sorts of problems that people can have during their lives. No need to be snobbish if you made it to a higher rung. If you can afford a swankier place, then just don't live there.
  18. No, it's not. Most folks on this fourm only want to stay in thailand, but a lot of other countries have much better options for digital nomads. Bermuda has one of the best - a one year digital nomad visa with no minimum income requirements.
  19. In an ideal world, everyone would always smile at each other and the smiles would be genuine. Smiling at people you don't know can sometimes have the perverse effect that an unscrupulous person sees it as a sign of weakness. You're letting your guard down. Or percieves it as "you want to be friends" when you don't. I have no expectations that people should be smiling all the time.
  20. no fake smiles.
  21. I nearly got my ass whooped by an arab guy on beach road one time. the guy was walking with his gf and I guess some freelancers (not ladyboys) were cat-calling him. and the guy started verbally attacking the freelancer. i guess his religious beliefs were in direct conflict with the freelancer's invitations. i stupidly got involved and told him to leave the freelancer alone. and then the guy nearly assaulted me.
  22. I think a lot of them quit after going broke or not making as much money as they thought they would online.
  23. that was my point too. if you go around smiling at everyone, then you will need to shake people off. it's better to go around looking mean & miserable so people won't bother you.
  24. no! suspicious footage of moon landing .... there were no stars visible someone mentioned 9/11 in another thread. that was the first conspiracy i ever got into
