  1. I had two legal passports issued by the same Country for many years. Used them both in and out of Thailand, as well as many other Countries. I only needed to assure I was using the same passport for stamp in and out. Was not a problem in Europe, Canada or USA, as you were processed electronically and they did not need to see a stamp out from another country. . Had to Surender one passport , as I could not justify the re-issuance, when I retired.
  2. I did a VTE visa run in Jan 23' $40 Immigration Airfare about 280 Euro 3 day nice hotel 180 euro meals and booze 120 euro entertainment 40 euro per night long time Can do it for less with bus 1200 bht rt , cheap room 200 bht , Leo beer and street food. but still $40 immigration
  3. I have received a myriad of opinions on this item and have studied the immigration procedures, but still a bit fuzzy. Came to LOS Mid OCT 22' for my five month winter home as I have done for many years. A combination of visas, extensions and border trips. Covid era was a bit mirky but doable. This winter a bit of a snag came up. 60 day STV mid OCT 22' 30 day extension good till 15 Jan 23' trip to VTE gave me an additional 45 days good until late Feb 23' Snag on 26 Jan 23' and had to go Portugal for a real Estate issue. Now want to come back to Thailand to finish my Mai Sai to Satun bicycle ride. Best option to return with little chance of IO denial? MTV (not sure if possible) STV VOA No visa, stamp in only. Seems straight forward, but murky when I think about it. IMG_0088.HEIC IMG_0079.HEIC
  4. Two choices on release, Lobotomy or castration .
  5. Rolled over like a two pence hoar. Or, posturing rather than wai.
  6. There are no shortage of rental units in Thailand. Wait for a week or so before you get here and start communicating with agents , but no quid as deposit until u taste the goodies. You are along for the ride. Should have never mounted up, but u did. So u can only wait to see if this ride takes you where u want to go. If not, learn from it and move on. The reason these people are so successful is the most of us have a good heart and until we get scammed ( Il. never forget her). So move on and hope it works for the best.
  7. Was just offered a position in Laos. Not sure I want to continue to work, but having lived there before, a few more extra quid and connections would help.

  9. I continue to be utterly amazed at what a grown man will do with young children. The parents of these children should be allowed to decide his fate.
  10. Euro 250k bounty would entice many enterprising individuals with extra ordinary services to get involved.
  11. There was a USA comedian Robin Williams, said man has two brains but only enough blood to operate one at a time.
  12. As stupidly fubbard and messed up as this sounds, I got tired of listen to her bitch about disgracing her family and me not pay sinsod. So got married. actually in the end it was probably the best way to find out her game plan and get rid of her. Granted, it wasn’t my smartest decision. But was a good lesson on trusting a Thai girl.
  13. I’ve seriously considered Udon, Ubon, Roi Et. Definitively had enough of BKK.
  14. I found a young lassie 20 years my jr. lived together 3 years in Lat Phrao area. Great life. Decide to get married. First thing she said afterwards was “ now ur money my money”. She flew back to BKK next day on her own. However quickie annulments are easily obtained when u can prove abandonment and fraudulent intentions . She would have been okay if would have just keep her mouth shut and stuck it out a month or so. The annulment took about 62 days to process and be stamped. Cost me about 4000 Euro. Now I’m only interested in Rental units. Made it to Trang so far, no issues yet.
  15. Most certainly, I just retired from the travel industry and very aware of that. Especially daunting when u work remote or from home.
  16. Yes, I agree. Im able to by-passs most, BUT NOT ALL, by select a western home country IP on my VPN. However as you mentioned, on Social media , Bezo and Ebay it won't work.
  17. Doubt you want to go to Krabi for Visa extension, however its the easiest Iv ever done. 2000 thb, they fill out the TM7 for you, take the photos for you and you are out of there in ten to fifteen minutes. Go before 09:30, wear long pants and shirt.
  18. sorry, just pre-posting...the local lassies gave me a B-day party this afternoon a day early cause I start my BKK to SIN bike ride tomorrow and Ill be gone. Just tiding up all the little details
  19. I like the verification steps and many of the financial institutions are already using them. I just use a vyke wifi number and they text me a code. Takes seconds. It happens whether I using VPN or not. Most Gov agencies are already using the ID verification steps. Facebook is the only real issue Ive run into and given the big "FIVE EYES", I can't understand why someone would post their real name, photos and personal data on social media. Likewise with Ebay and Bezo.
  20. Im using Proton VPN with my own or dedicated IP. I have a choice of over 100 Countries and States/Provinces to connect through. Some sights lock u out when using it, but some make it easier to disguise your in Thailand, when the site thinks your in your western home country. The rotating dedicated IP attracted me to Proton.
  21. 21 DEC.... 69 years today and first day of retirement. Been living /working SE Asia for 11 eleven years and dreaming about this day. Scared Sh_tless on what to do next. Have already done many of the Thai things and wonder what comes next. Pensions add up to about 6k Euros monthly, so Im not poor, but not rich either. But, the cost and availability of health insurance is concerning me. Been considering VN over TH, anybody have comments about retirement comparisons? Ive lived and worked in VN/Lao/Cambodia/TH/INdo, so know my way around, but never looked at the retirement comparisons. Comments?
