As the day draws closer to me picking up my new car, hopefully if all goes well will be by the end of this month. I wanted to ask for advice from people that have bought a new car in Thailand. What do I need to check and make sure? How do I make sure I am not getting ripped off or basically what should I be checking? I have decided on the Atto 3 Extended 2024 version - I am not sure whether to pick White or Black - I am currently thinking Black because the interior is darker and I have kids but is one better than the other? Those are the 2 colours I have been offered. I am buying on finance and I am waiting to get approval. So when I pick up the car what should I make sure I do, check, etc? Thank you for all your help!

What is the current promotion and what do you get? I think I got the motor show promotion as I paid the booking fee but have to sort everything out in January as had to go on holiday…..will find out next year! but I would be interested to know if the promotion now is better? Price and what’s included? cheapest quote for charger was the one you have in your picture for 25k

Welcome to Thailand😂🤣 Dealer said he thinks it will be fine as doesn’t think conditions will change….but assured me that the deposit will be returned if not….thats it! Fingers crossed and that I get the financing! can someone maybe @Pib I know you have an atto3 extended - can you help with the ceramic film….ive got no clue….whats what most people get…..the car also has a sunroof with a shade. anyone else with an atto and experience selecting the film please chip in!🤣😂

I’ve got all the documents except the residence certificate. do I need to go to immigration or is the residence letter from my embassy also accepted? my embassy does it in 30 min for 1500 and I think Samut prakarn take a week.

Does anyone know if a residence certificate from my embassy will do for the documents required for applying for finance or does it have to be from immigration??

Oh, I had to get white colour as he said black was out of stock for a long time and he only had white….

I did it, I put the deposit down for the atto3 extended. now I have to hand in all the paperwork for financing and see if it goes through - might actually do that after the Xmas holidays as I’m off to Europe for 3 weeks. I can get everything easily except for the residence certificate. Apparently I need to go to the immigration office. Does anyone know if this is a one day job or a long waiting time? I know my embassy can do it quick but not sure they will accept the residence certificate from my embassy? included is ceramic film, whatever that is….anything I need to know? Also please if you can share what might happen next so I know all steps….. hand papers for financing, if accepted what happens? Downpayment on car delivery? Get car with red plate (dealer says I pay 3000 and get that back) they register car and then swap plates….will they pay car tax and insurance and add those stickers or how does it work? thank you! Excited but waiting to see if finance goes through. Ceramic film do I need to tell them anything? Im gonna buy the lazada charger, read quite a bit and a few scare stories of being careful at 16amp if it gets too hot or your house wiring can’t handle it etc etc but I guess I’ll be careful and see how it goes. i have a 7-11 next door to my Moobaan and it has a fast charger so guess can always pop over there. Going to try and see and if not convenient then I’ll speak to landlord and see if I spend the 25/35k but for the next months or so going to give it a go. THNAKS!

What are the amps it can handle safely and how much can it output in terms of kws I see so many I want to understand if I buy how can I use safely and how is it better than the one that comes with the car?

Oh man, it was a done deal and now you got me thinking….😱……I know someone who has just bought an MG VS…..and that made me think….. does anyone know if they are good? Anyone own either the new MG VS or ZS? I was set on the atto3 and had gotten past the uncertainty of resale value, gotten past the wall charger and convinced I could used one of the cheaper alternatives and just a wall socket and also convinced myself charging at anoetrol station wasn’t a problem even though I’ve looked more and there does seem to be a lot of cars doing it at the petrol station close to my home even saw some waiting….. then a friend told me today they bought an MG VS for 699…… anyone own an MG?

I hear you, if it was my house I would definetly do this but I’m thinking I would need to find an electrician, get him to understand me, check with my landlord, landlord would have to trust him…..etc etc etc…. yes M6 may be more practical but not sure we really need a 7 seater - have 2 kids and folks coming out now but do we need a 7 seater for the off chance someone visits us?

My head is definitely spinning mate! Probably just my over thinking nature….. went again today and saw the atto3 and the M6. Wife asked for us to test drive and wife and kids loved it but to me it seems less….nice. More room but the driver seat is lower and doesn’t feel so premium. good things I guess is the 7 seater and bigger battery means more km but everything in be read puts the atto3 as a better car? current offer means both are same price. But in thinking the atto3 is a better option because it’s a better car? thoughts?

I did - they gave me the three options and the three prices. i asked for the cheapest which was the zencar and they have quoted 35K

What about the m6 - that has a range of 520 km? That’s a lot more than the atto3 right? the Kia EV 5 also has more range?

I thought the atto3 was the car to go but I am seeing there are other options that cna do longer ranges. Is there a better alternative in the same ballpark price wise that can do longer range? I’ve kept my appointment tomorrow to go and see the car again….

I get that but I think for me it's the uncertainty...I like the idea and I love the Atto 3.....compared to other cars Ive test driven in my budget like the Yaris Cross......it's feel so much better.....but it's the uncertainty of if I will be in Thailand for x amount of years....and if going electric now is a wise choice....:(
