  1. We need a car - can’t just call a taxi. it’s actually a fantastic time to invest, read a book or two.
  2. Si between the Toyota veloz (cheapest) and the Honda Brv or the Mitsubishi xpander or xpander cross which car would you recommend?
  3. Anyone else have any opinions? Which car would be - “best option”? Am I missing any other options? These are the ones I have spinel. To dealerships about and Gad offers and conditions.
  4. Great….any reasons why? Someone said to me the 1.5 engine on a ‘big’ car like that will really feel it…..also the E version is cheaper. Any idea why the EL is more expensive?
  5. My options so far; Can buy new without too much hassle - downpayment and then around 19/20k month - I’ve looked at 36/48 months - I would have to pay off and sell if I was to leave Thailand before then. car options: Honda brv toyota veloz mitsubishi expander mg zs interest goes from 0% to 1,99 to 2,19….. I’m still looking at possibility of buying from toyotasure - trusted secondhand - they seem to have LOADS of expanders or Toyota chr - also a few Toyota cross - process range from 500 to 800. Again we are a family of 4 with 2 young kids that’s why I like the suv type also like being higher off the ground with Bangkok traffic etc. which of those cars is best value, will be able to sell later on etc? like idea of electric but for my temporary stay of a few years I don’t think it’s worth it. Thanks - I know nothing about cars so recommendations are very helpful!’
  6. Thanks, are you saying in my situation where I’m not sure if I’ll be here 2,3 or 4 years it makes sense to buy new or secondhand or rent?
  7. What would you say is BAD about having an electric? I saw an MG electric suv st mega Bangna the other day and it was around 800,000k - looked futuristic. but in Europe everyone says not enough infrastructure yet - guess here it’s worse? how do you charge it at home? How often do you have to charge? what if you go on a road trip? is it harder to sell in the future?
  8. Ah ok, which office should I go to? I live in bangna area, close to mega bangna - think officially samut prakan - should I look for a dlt office close to me?
  9. Expat with family, wife and 2 kids. Arrived in august, not sure if we will be here 2 years or 3 or 4. Definitely need a car. Currently renting for 16k month. Two good salaries - currently we rent car and save 1 salary and a bit of the other - we use money to send back home for mortgage and to invest in private pension. should we: A.keep renting for however many years we are in Thailand. B. Buy a second hand car from a place like toyotasure on a loan - will allow us to continue investing in our pensions back home C. Buy a new car on a loan - will continue to allow us to invest in our home pensions. D. Stop investing in our pensions for 5/6 months and try to save 600k to buy a car from a trustworthy secondhand place like toyotasure with cash. My doubts are mainly because it’s s good time to invest and if I was to save to buy a car outright it would mean saving for 6 months - so not investing. Also- what car? I’ve looked at the Mitsubishi xpander - toyotasure “sure” have a lot of them for around 600 to 800k. Also looked at the Toyota chr or the veloz - but that’s too long I think. Also the Honda Brv. Anyway - what should we do?!
  10. What do you mean I must start again??? Please don’t give me a heart attack?! my license expired in august - can I not just renew it? also should I go to the nearest office close to my house?
  11. Thanks!! do I need to go twice? First time for a cue number?? Then go back another day?
  12. Thanks this is very helpful! if someone can please confirm if I need to first go and get a que number? then return on another day? also, what is needed? Documents wise? finally - do I need to do the online qr thing to renew?? thanks
  13. Si my 2 year license expired in August. Can I renew it myself? I live close to mega bangna which I think is samut prakan. I was quoted 3000 by an agent. can I do this myself? I have a residence letter from my embassy and a work permit. with zero Thai is it worth trying to do myself or not? if so does anyone have any recent experience and can share the steps? Also where I need to go? What I need? Thanks!
  14. @KhunLA is the MG a fake Rolex? also I’ve heard they have like 5 years warranty and that it’s transferable if you buy second hand - any ideas? Warranty on what? thanks
  15. If you were buying a small suv for a family and you wanted to go electric - what would you buy?
  16. Still hunting for a car - thinking a Mitsubishi xpander or a Toyota chr from a Toyota sure dealer might be the way I go. thoughts on these cars? also, out of curiosity - would buying an eléctrica car second hand be possible? Wise?
  17. But would a second hand place give me finance? What about a place like toyotasure, do they give finance?
  18. Thanks! I’ll go and ask at a Toyota garage, for some reason I’m thinking MG zs might be the easiest option - I do prefer either a Toyota or a Honda though.
  19. Looking for a small family SUV- reliable and easy to sell when we move on from Thailand. Family of 4 - 2 small kids. looking at Toyota veloz, Honda brv or hrv or one of the Mazdas. Also the MG zs or maybe even a Mitsubishi expander? don’t want to spend too much - not sure we will even get financing as expats newish to the country. thanks.
  20. Which one of these do you recommend? what about the Mazdas? Thanks
  21. Ok thanks - what about a car? Thinking either an MG, Toyota Veloz or a Honda brv or hrv. we are a fmaily of 4 like small suvs now renting a ford eco sport and happy. main thing is we fit and how easy I can sell it if we leave Thailand in a year or 2.
  22. 41 views zero replies…..I’ll try again: will they give me a loan to Buy new? Or at a place like toyotasure?expat with 6 month pay slips both wife and I work on a 2 year contract. second: what car do you recommend - we like small suvs have 2 kids so need to fit 2 baby seats at the back. thanks.
  23. I need a car - currently renting and paying 16k month. I don’t have the money saved up to buy cash now - can I buy through a loan? Monthly payments? Only at current job for 5 months, both the wife and I are working - we are expats. second, my drivers license expired in august - I need to renew it. Will I have problems? Can I renew it or will they make me do tests etc again because it expired in august? thanks
