  1. But Thais who move to the west don't harp on about injustice all the time, nor do they tell us we're all wrong and should change our ways to be more like Thailand. That's because Thais are peaceful, accepting, and respectful of different cultures and local customs. Conversely, so many westerners move to Thailand, suffer from culture shock, then try to change the place and boorishly interfere with the Thai way of doing things. Actually, there is nowhere that's perfect. Look around - Thais are generally cheerful and put up with us quite well, even though they never try to change our degenerate societies. You're fond of quoting statistics that have no relevance to the points being discussed, and you seem to misunderstand nuances surrounding cultural differences. I also thought you'd toned down your past impolite behaviour and wanted a discussion without becoming rude, and you know from the past that I only talk to polite people here.
  2. Most cultures are derived from what went before. In Britain, for example, the culture includes Saxon, Norman, Roman and various other influences. You could say the same for every other culture in the world, because humans moved around a lot, even in ancient times. Borrowing is not the right word.
  3. So skip mine too then, if you don't have the capability to say anything sensible in reply.
  4. Why do people leave places like America to live in places like Thailand, then try to turn Thailand into places like America? Surely, if the west was such a great place, we would all want to live there and our only interst in Thaland would be for a holiday in nice weather? All that inequality stuff about the masses struggling under the yoke of the elite applies equally in the west too - the press is censored throughout the world these days, so you won't see too many headlines about pensioners feezing because they can't pay their energy bills because of net zero jacking up energy costs, etc, etc. At least Thailand has a cohesive society, where families help each other out, strong traditions, self-reliance, and a religion to support people through times of hardship. All the western world has is Prozac. Thailand's election result was influenced by propogation of western non-culture, vote buying, and external influencing of the young and inexperienced. It will be overturned, and the sooner that happens the better.
  5. I'm not sure why you keep bringing Thailand up China, North Korea and Iran, but Thailand is a conservative, religious, peaceful, cohesive and patriotic country, with strong traditions, family ties and respect for its wiser elders. The West has disregarded all of its culture and traditions in favour of soulless lefty wokism, and is vastly diminished because of it.
  6. You're incapable of serious debate, so sniping is the best you can do.
  7. Aside from that childish remark, do you have anything sensible to add to the debate?
  8. The headline and the article don't seem to align.
  9. Yes, we'd better brace ourselves for being ordered around by Big Brother, and his willing army of Stasi-styled wannabes.
  10. The absolute best way to cook bacon. Use the hottest setting 200C on mine.
  11. Air fryers are great, especially if you like crispy bacon.
  12. Didn't the WHO just tell us that the emergency was over?
  13. Panadol, decongestant and Strepsils were all I needed for a couple of days while getting my natural booster too. Covid was milder than many colds I'd had.
  14. The sooner, the better.
  15. Ahh, that didn't take long. 'Conspiracy theory' is another leftist tactic to smear opponents and shut down debate. Are you now going to start using words that end imn 'ist'? When will you say that I'm the reincarnation of Trump? You've already called me an antisemite - a smear intended to denounce me that's totally incorrect - my boss is Jewish, and I really like the guy, and look up to his because he's smart and brilliant at what he does. I've got loads of Jewish friends and colleages - I couldn't meet nicer a smarter people.
  16. Not at all - gays are no different from anyone else, and they have sexual relations all year round. But we're talking simple cause and effect here: a festival where people (gay or straight) get together in large numbers and have a party is more likely to result in casual sex than at other times. This is the point that the health message was making - a point that would have been noted humourously by my many gay friends. Any message that stirs the emotions (humour or otherwise) is more likely to be remembered, so they shouldn't have given in to the woke mob. Who are these people to tell the rest of us what we can and can't say anyway?
  17. The English language is dynamic and constantly morphs - the word 'gay', for example is an adjective that once meant 'joy' but now is accepted to decsribe sexuality. The adjective 'woke' is commonly used in the way I described, and its original meaning has faded into obscurity. We do need adjectives in the English language, and the left wing has plenty of much stronger adjectives they use to smear those on the right. Wokism goes beyond what you described anyway: it's a revolutionary manifestation of updated Marxism, created by the left to divide a once peaceful society (in this case gay and straight people living together as one, as the vast majority do). Its interesting that the leftist woke creed seeks to change language constantly - what were adjectives are denounced by the woke as "attack words", to disorient their political opponents, shut down debate, and label opponents as extremists whose opinions should not be heard.
  18. So please indulge us with your definition of woke then.
  19. Isn't a gay pride event is one where gay men will converge in festive mood and meet other gay men, so more sexual interaction is likely to occur than when such people are not attending this event? It's not a conflation to say that risk of passing on infections is higher at such a time, in the same way that risk of road accidents is higher during holidays, when people travel more. All this confected woke outrage has achieved is suppression of a valid and well intended public health warning, which will in turn result in more people catching this horrible diseases.
  20. Try this: An ideological and false state of awareness achieved only by those hypocrites who find injustice in everything except their own behaviour. In this case, a well meaning public health message was withdrawn and people may suffer as a result. I know lots of gays and they don't go around shouting about injustice all the time - they're integrated into society, balanced and nice people just like anyone else, who would welcome well meaning public health messages that advise them to take precautions during an epidemic.
  21. That's the most worrying part: even Thailand is struggling these days to stand up to the woke outrage mob. Gay people might not realise that they are at risk of catching a serious disease because of this virtue signalling wokist nonsense.
  22. They are associated with it, owing to the irrefutable fact that gay sex is indeed a risk factor for monkey pox: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/factsheets/Pages/monkeypox.aspx#:~:text=Who is at risk of,or sex on premises venues. Woke zealots who rail against warning gay people about a serious disease are the problem here.
  23. Experiencing foreign cultures and traditions. You won't find them in a Starbucks.
