You have to be registered as a foreign born citizen or something like that. You will need the birth and death certificate of your grandparent(s)and marriage certificates, birth certificates of your parents and of course your birth certificate. If accepted as a citizen only then can you apply for a passport.Thats a rough guide.

Sorry didn't see Salerno had already posted the info

What is hypocritical is that the government will increase the pensions of expats living in Europe, even in the absence of an agreement.  I guess they're more concerned about the votes of European expats than Thai ones.

There is an agreement over the status of Brits living in the EU and EU citizens living in the UK.Pensions are covered in that agreement. How long that will last is another story.

Have you tried the metal filter?

After googling the upside down method, naturally all things aeropress started popping up.One was the aeropress world championship (Google it at your peril),they printed the recipe's! Of the top four and all of them used the paperfilters one used two,and they all really gave them a good wash first.just saying.

  5. A DeLonghi grinder and a Kinto conical metal filter work for my morning coffee slowish pour over. The aeropress with paper filters give the cleanest brew and easy to clean, good for traveling. The stove top is only if you like the Italian glass espresso shot size drink. The French press is fine but you need to read the reviews,a cheap knock off will be a false economy. Its mostly about the coffee and the grind allegedly.

    Did you read this part?
The people were assembled at City Hall. Those with mental problems were taken to Bang Lamung Hospital while the details of the homeless were taken and appropriate help for them was sought.

What happens in your country? Anything different? Anything at all?

Not if he's a Brit, the home secretary Priti Patel has announced that any homeless on the streets that are not from the UK will be deported.Their mental state was not mentioned.

Technically a crown covers all of the tooth down to the gum after the tooth has been made into a stump (fits over whats left), an onlay or inlay covers only the top of a tooth with most of the tooth still intact (fits on top of whats left)

A crown is usually the generic term that covers anything that caps a tooth

It probably is called a cap.

    ????????????

Fact is the UK has out  manoeuvred the EU and people like you can't handle it for some reason. You can't be a Brit, you must be a European crying about actually starting to see the problems with the EU which is being exposed now the UK has left. You need to start campaigning for your own country to get out, it's starting to implode.

You will never be taken seriously if you put up links to the daily express.

A friend of mine lives in Morecambe, Lancashire. Noted to me that a large group of Asian muslims were seen strolling down the promenade on Sunday, clearly not locals, just there for a day out. probably no coincidence that Blackburn and Darwen, which has a large muslim community, is a hotspot for Covid in Lancashire.

My two white Christian brothers travelled down to North Wales to seem my 97yo mum last weekend, she seems to be fading away. One from the Medway area one from Norwich, both on the orange list.

Nothing that the EU and it's agency the EMA said or did as both consistently said that the AstraZeneca vaccine is safe!

If you want to blame somebody for the suspension by the governments of some, not all, EU member states and those of other states worldwide, including Thailand, and the hesitancy shown by some over receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine; blame the Norwegian Medicines Agency as it was they who first raised concerns over it's use.

Norway is not a member of the EU.

The major problem we in the EU have is that 60% of the promised vaccines have not been delivered. They won't be delivered until June/July.Throw in the nearly two weeks hiatus in using the AZ vaccine it's a cluster. The UK have ordered more than they need, that's why the EU want a fair distribution of the vaccines. Its the same when Italy stopped the export to Australia,Oz already have more than they need.My guess it's so Boris can be seen as the magnanimous saviour of Europe by distributing the UK's excess,a bit like the eastern European's loved Maggie Thatcher they saw her as saving them from the Soviets.Guess it will be 2023 before I can get to Thailand.

I can't speak for everyone but certainly back here in the UK that is my plan, sun, a beach and g&t as soon as possible. Unfortunately Thailand does not figure in the equation for quite a few reasons and we are looking at end of August, early September as my 25 year old son is on the trip (young adults first doses in June).  You are also right though as the sales of Motorhomes (RVs) have been through the roof this year in the UK and I can't see many of those people roaming far for quite a few years as they adjust their holiday style. Personally speaking my kids have shifted to a more activity based holiday style where they are concentrating on wake boarding, surfing and cycling rather than the beach type holiday. The backpacker holiday is probably dead and gone as multiple destinations could be too complicated. I am only speaking from my point of view but with the exception of sexpats Thailand doesn't have that much to offer and the kids of the younger generation will be influenced by their parents. There will be huge changes to holiday demographics over the next decade and those countries that can adapt quickly to the changes will flourish. I have a daughter in Thailand but family response now is to fly her here to join family holidays and events rather than what was before. People aren't as bad off as you may think (financially), some are better off having saved commuter costs and the majority of people I know are desperate for a holiday, but they aren't looking at long haul.????. See yall on the sunny side.

As always the devil is in the details. The UK government announced yesterday that the vaccine rollout for the under 50s or 40s will be suspended during april, there are supply issues,it may be a bump in the road but I wouldn't make any plans to travel untill you or your son's have a definite appointment for the jab.I was in Thailand in march when it and the rest of the world went into lockdown wouldn't want to do that again, with or without a jab I'm not going anywhere untill everything is functioning properly.

Plenty of other nicer places in Thailand to get a break from European winter weather.

    Why Pattaya?

I have been going to jomtien for the last  5 years, just because it's convenient and affordable.I stayed in Pattaya last march for the first time in years,a mate from Oz was going to be their and one from Amsterdam. They both really like to drink but my capacity to keep up as gone the way of my libido.I spent my winter break in Kho Chang for a few years but it all changed when the got that roro ferry.I then went to Sihanoukville for a few years untill the ravers wanting to take drugs and party all night arrived, they were followed by the Chinese,I miss the old snooky, that's when I returned to Thailand. On my own I don't really do many late boozy nights or spend much time in Gogo,s or girly bars but I like that they are there.I miss the old Pattaya before the Russians arrived.

So why is the Vaccination which is a key driver not happening

Thailand is way behind the curve on this, and IMHO, it will be nearer to February 2022 before 50% of the Thai population are vaccinated. This will make Thailand a " No Go Zone " for not just Tourists, but for Foreign Governments to allow Citizens to travel to the Kingdom

Some body said "nobody's safe untill we are all safe" that means not only do the population of Thailand have to be vaccinated, also the population of every country that visit Thailand have to be vaccinated.2022 might be optimistic.

I am certain Thailand will change the quarantine the policy, for vaccinated visitors from those specific countries, during the summer, mainly because most potential bookers for the third and fourth quarters will need that re-assurance reasonably far in advance. I'm not sure exactly when in the summer, but your July date should be fine. I suspect they will be in a position to do it as early as May, but June might be more likely as it allows them to say "from the second half of the year".

Make sure to get any necessary embassy stuff done in good time, I have a hunch they will be somewhat overwhelmed once the change is announced and everything may take longer than usual.

I suspect you and your family are going to enjoy an unusually fresh and energetic vibe in Thailand as it opens up once again.

I would love to be back in Thailand next January, but my biggest concern is the flying.I might wait till December 22,I want to see how many of the planes that have been parked up all over the world for what will be up to 18 months deal with being back in service.Really it's about how many fall out of the sky.I bet I'm not alone in thinking about what state the planes and the Pilots are in after such a long down time.

You can get all your music on .flac from pirate bay. Sell your CDs while they are still worth something.

Some years ago also in the Guardian there was an article from a guy who sold his CD collection.Whats stuck in my mind is the what the guy who he sold them to said "it's just as well you are selling them now because in a few years you will be paying me to take them away".I love Spotify and Tunein radio, there is a massive world of music and sound out there. When my arcam amp gave up the ghost I got a Marantz  pm7000n network receiver,it's a bit over the top for my smallish apartment but it's on all day,I still have my cd collection stuck away in a cupboard but I don't or rarely listen to them from Spotify.
