  1. Its quite easy to make you just need to make sure you have your salty (Fish Sauce ) Sweetness ( Palm Sugar) sourness (usually fresh lime juice) balanced then add chopped fresh chillies (Red or Green or a bit of both ) to your own liking some chopped Scallions(spring Onions ) and Garlic finely chopped . it might take a little experimenting to get the balnces right but it will be worth it Enjoy thumbsup.gif

  2. In Australia, it's still possible to board a domestic flight with essentially no ID (except if departing from an international terminal). Gotta love flying there...

Sorry I have to disagree with you on that ,you do need a valid form of ID to board a domestic flight here in australia usually a valid driving licence is sufficient failing that a passport is acceptable ...no ID no fly as nearly happened a few months ago when I was taking my 13yr old grandson up to Darwin to visit his uncle for a week he didnt have any ID and was initially refused at check in luckily we were in plenty of time to arrange a phopto copy of his passport to be emailed which the airline accepted plus I also had to provide proof that I was actually his grandfather !

  3. Thanks. Then I'll take some US$ and use ATM.

You will need USD for your VOA, $25 for 30 days.

I just use an ATM Card when I am there.

Not all ATM will give you more than 1 million rupiah too and that amount will fill your wallet alone.

Only if you get your money from a dodgy changer will you have a wallet full of notes ! ATM's usually give out RP100,000 notes so thats only a total of 10 If you get from a reputable exchange you can ask for RP 50,000 notes which are Blue and also a lot easier to get change for on a purchase ! As for the VOA they will usually accept a major currency I.E US $ AU$ GBP etc but at a rate favourable to them so check exchange rates before you hand over the folding stuff.

  4. Alcohol is banned in many countries (including USA and UK) during certain events. Also banned in certain streets in UK and USA all the time. Nothing new here.

Hmm I've never heard of an Alcohol ban during certain events in the UK only time I have come across any restrictions in alcohol sales is Good Friday when sales of Alcohol in supermarkets isnt permitted before 12 noon other than that Alcohol is freely available for sale !

  5. I've just has 3 guys (don't ask me why 3) around to repair the aircon. They isolated the problem, a cracked pipe that was leaking gas, soldered the pipe, re-gassed it, cleaned the filter etc. Total time taken, 2 hours, total cost 1200 baht. It would cost you a minimum of 4000 baht just for the callout for an aircon technician in Australia, the labour an material costs on top of that. You'd be lucky to get away with 10,000 baht.

yeah but at least in Australia the work would be carried out by a licenced technician unless of course you got Bodgit Fleecim and Run to do the job !

  6. One can acquire such stuff everywhere in Thailand if one so wishes. Mace would be legal same as here in Australia to be used as a dog deterrent.

I'm calling Bulls*** on that one nowhere have I seen legally obtainable Mace or pepper spray available to the general public in Australia as far as I am aware it is classed as an offensive weapon & the only people I have seen carrying it are police officers !

Also if it was legal to own I dont think it would be onthe prohibited Items list at arrivals at the airports here.
