  1. That's a very good point, six of his companies went bankrupt. He did not. Good point.
  2. Don't believe all the lies Kamala and the NYT tell you. "The Times was not specific about how much Trump would have received from his father by the time he entered the real estate business with the family company, but it appears to be somewhere in the $1m to $2m range once adjusted for inflation. That is a lot — much more than Harris’s proposal of $50,000 for new startup businesses — but it is far below the $413m Harris cited. Our ruling Harris said Trump “started out with $400 million on a silver platter and then filed for bankruptcy six times”. There is no question that the former president had a strong financial wind behind him when he started out, and he always had a reasonable expectation of inheriting a share of his father’s business. But he did not begin his business career with $400m available to him. A comprehensive New York Times review of the Trump family finances in 2018 found that Donald Trump received $413m from Fred Trump or his estate over the course of his lifetime. However, all but perhaps $1m or $2m of that amount reached the son after he had already begun working for the family business." https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/9/22/fact-check-did-kamala-harris-exaggerate-scale-of-trumps-pre-career-inheritance
  3. Obviously trade deals don't conclude within 3 days, lol. It's not K-drama. But negotiations are underway,.
  4. https://ig.ft.com/china-mexico-tariffs/
  5. Cheap lies, he got 14 million. Turned into billions. Twice. And refer to the president in a more respectful manner. I don't like how you talk about this great man.
  6. Pfffft, so many, Vietnam, Japan, UK...too many to name.
  7. At pretty much everything, at life, in real estate, made billions of Dollars, in show business, had a top rated TV show, in politics, became president of the USA, twice. How about you, what have you won in? Maybe list your accomplishments in this thread.
  8. Very true. You're lucky if your girlfriend talks to you.
  9. Of course not, in the first presidency China was able to evade his tariffs by going through Canada and Mexico. Now they don't have that option anymore. Trump learnt from the first tariff war.
  10. Trump advisers say more than 50 countries have reached out for tariff talks with White House https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/trump-advisers-say-more-than-50-countries-have-reached-out-for-tariff-talks-with-white-house
  11. Yes indeed, this trade conflagration is only getting started, much too early to call it. Bessent was working with Soros and was part of the team that structured the trade that broke the Bank of England. Trump's team is head and shoulders above anything any other nation can field. They just have to moderate their tone so they can actually do the deals and not annoy their counterparts more than necessary.
  12. Global trade will be remodelled in the US favour. Many nations have already sent delegations to negotiate with the US and offered substantial concessions. I suspect ultimately a Mar a Lago acord that will allow the Dollar to be devalued but will still retain it as the reserve currency will happen. That's what the paper by Bessent and his colleague outlines.
  13. No, the goals were to incentivize Powell to lower interest rates earlier than he would usually do, and to incentivize nations to offer the US a new deal in trade. As nations are lining up to give the US what it wants and make new deals, including the UK, it would appear Trump's strategy is working exactly as planned.
  14. Okay, so bargain basement journo nonsense. He claims because Powell wasn't fired and a short reprieve was given on tariffs Trump "rowed" back". Which is of course not true. Both the pressure on Powell and the tariffs were to achieve specific goals, that look likely to be achieved.
  15. Article is behind a paywall. Useless.
  16. No it doesn't. You'd just use a USB hub. Your advice is totally false.
  17. Sexual predator, lol. I bet you swallowed Me Too hook line and sinker.
  18. Total nonsense. You'd use a USB stick or hard drive if you need larger capacity.
  19. There's always a chance of dropping charges against the guilty in Catholicism. That's kind of the whole point. But doesn't it strike you as odd that in Christianity there is a devil, and in Buddhism, a wholly different doctrine, there is a devil as well? Anthropomorphic thinking surely?
  20. It seems to me that one of the greatest arguments against religion is the existence of both Satan and Mara. Let me explain. If the bible were a divinely inspired book of absolute truth and it uniquely found out about Satan, then how come Buddhism came up with its own Satan, Mara? It would thus appear that humans just think the same way and conjure up these figures. Of course you could read it the other way round and claim that the existence of both Satan and Mara corroborates that such a figure must exist in the afterlife.
  21. I agree, Trump has a history of being too soft on many issues. He's not authoritarian enough. Maybe JD Vance when he gets to power.
  22. Excellent article. When faced with cut price products from China, I doubt Europe will be able to resist.
  23. My experience as well. Often women will out of themselves pack my shopping in a bag at Big C. Usually older women, less often young women and never the men. Still that this happens at all is a miracle, try getting a cashier in the UK, German, France or Spain to put your groceries in the bag. Not gonna happen.
