This “self created trap” as you describe is a psychological trap that needs to be re-thought out. I never been in such of a relationship but have been in situations where I needed to do a mind reset of psychologically preparing for the next phase and implementing the execution of it. If you overthink about the situation then you’ll probably remain overwhelmed. Or, as others have mentioned, be decisive grab your personal belongings and bolt on out of there ASAP and save yourself.

And not to mention the roosters modified mufflers and over ventilated car mufflers. Heck if I wanted I can find as many things to complain about here as I can in my home town in the US of A, but as I never did there I have no reason to do so here. Some people just lack tolerance and/or lack the IQ to choose to live in an area that they can tolerate. There is an element of truth to the OP, the world is full of low IQ people, especially of those who believe that they are smarter than those around them.

Actually everywhere

What about the low IQ of those that choose to live in places that they complain about.

I just went through immigration a couple days ago in Chiangmai and seen no such thing. My guess is that when the immigration officer started flipping through your passport you gave off a destine look or vibe and she responded accordingly. So many posts here from those that nitpick every nuance of immigration officers and their responses are well deserved to those that do.

“Five Minnesota Senate Republicans are seeking to dub “Trump derangement syndrome”, a term coined to describe a form of criticism of President Donald Trump, as an official mental illness recognized under state statute.” https://www.startribune.com/gop-minnesota-senators-introduce-bill-that-defines-trump-derangement-syndrome-as-mental-illness/601237381

What is wrong with you???!!! Are you so short minded and diluted that you have a problem with someone uncovering government scams? Or is that you all are Marxist commies that believe that governments should not be held accountable? It’s either that or complete stupidity is at play in your minds and the minds of your corrupt left wing politicians.

RFK Jr.’s Confirmation Hearings Prove He’s Unfit to Lead HHS

That about sums it up!! -
That’s what I eluded to. It seems to be a hassle if the OP is planning to live in Chiang Mai and needing to take a trip once a year to renew. I mean as time goes by and age sets in people tend to get lazy. Just seems best to iron out a good path during the younger years of age. Or am I missing something here?

Lots of redundancy 4 meat and 2 spuds?

I have developed the same disposition stigmatization towards big service centers, too many turnovers of young wannbe mechanics that shouldn’t be near my bike!
-
I used to take my bike to a Honda service center but not anymore because they are very busy and tend to mess up. The last time went in for an oil change and I told them the chain was loose and needed to be adjusted, guess what, it didn’t happen and I won’t be returning. Better service at a small business where the mechanic is the owner.

CM Biker in Pa Tan is where I go because it’s close. Good mechanic and quick. There are a lot of good motorbike mechanics in Chiang Mai.
