  1. Voip.ms paired with Zoiper (follow the links on Voip.ms.) US number 89 cents/month, calls are around 0.1 cents/minute. Supports SMS, incoming and outgoing calls. Setup wasn't the easiest, but their support staff was excellent. Now it's working perfectly
  2. Nothing new on the official DLT website. All requirements are still the same if anyone cares to check. https://www.dlt.go.th/
  3. No video calls. Free calls within US and Canada (maybe more if your # is in another country). Use Facebook Messenger for free calls and video calls. The other party has to be on your friend list.
  4. Finally found a replacement that gives me a US phone number for incoming and outgoing calls. I set up an account with VOIP.ms which lets me chose a phone number in many countries for (mine was US 89 cents a month). Then you patch the settings into a software phone on your cell phone (download the suggested free Zoiper app) https://wiki.voip.ms/article/ZoIPer_for_Android. Very cheap calls internationally and free within US and Canada. The setup is a little cumbersome, but support staff is absolutely fantastic. Basic cost 10 USD, rechargeable through the website. Once set up works great for me. Works out a lot cheaper than a Skype number.
  5. On top of that, Thailand isn't listed under country of residence. What's an expat to do? LOL
  6. I used a locally (Thai) purchased health insurance I had for my O-A. No issues at all. All they wanted to see was the policy and the proof of premium payment. And like others mentioned, two years of tax returns showing passive income in excess of 80K. Social security, pension, annuity and interest/dividends. Really effortless process.
  7. Rewriting history according to the current ultra-liberal climate. Terrorists were dealt with appropriately.
  8. If you're born with a penis, you'll never be a girl! Only fool liberals get confused.
  9. They're welcome to stay, just won't have a job anymore. No different from a corporate job overseas. Why should they be any different?
  10. Don't ask, don't tell worked well enough. Don't discriminate, but don't rub my face in it.
  11. Not only losers come to Thailand, don't you know?
  12. And meet all kinds of interesting ladies
  13. Expats have a country they can go back to. They usually have a passport allowing them to travel. They had access to education and medical care. These people have no country, no identification, no rights, no future. Thailand did right.
  14. I never argue with a fool
  15. If you ever had chickenpox, get it. The nerve pain is intense and unrelenting during the attack. It is also recurring. I'm living with neuropathy after the last bout. Get the vaccine if you can.
  16. Why spend so much time and energy? The whole thing will be swept under the rug anyway.
  17. From the tax perspective and cost the LTR-P (Pensioner) is the best option if qualified. No tax on amounts remitted to Thailand from abroad. Multiple entry permits. Preferred lines at airport (allegedly). One time fee of 50,000 baht.
