If you are over 50 you would qualify for 12 month extensions based on retirement. 800,000 in a Thai bank or proof of 65,000 Baht a month. -

Non Imm O-A Visa can only be applied for in your own country of residence. In Thailand you would be applying for a Non O Visa as part of a 12 month extension for retirement. Insurance no required. -

You can go on the day it expires if you wish but you better make sure you have everything in order. -

The consulate in Savanakhet laos will issue 12 month multi entry Non Imm O Visa. 90 days each entry. Money in the bank not needed. If you wish to do the 40,000 Monthly income at Immigration you need to show 12 months of deposits into your Thai bank. -

You should get your passport back withing a few minutes. Pattaya Immigration might have it's own rules though. -

Any body can do it for you. You sign the TM47 form. So easy to do online though.
