This walk on shame is crap,

if you are leaving a hotel with a gogo girl in the morning and around are mainly farang couples. The farang lady will be furious because she will think her husband can see what he can have, and the farang mans mind will be running riot, how can I get away from my wife for 2hours to roll around with quality like that. While saying to his wife “its disgusting that pervert sleeping with a woman half his age”

Yes how could one attempt to rubbish dear old Pattaya, the very nerve of the posters that do.................

Anyone would think that Pattaya was an overcrowded, dirty, polluted, crime ridden, sex tourist filled dump.

Not the peaceful, crime free, uncrowded idyllic retirement community we all know it to be.

I'm trying to compile a list of Pattaya's girl-friendly hotels. Would appreciate learning which hotels are easier.

I am thinking about buying a condo in Pattaya. But why would I buy a condo when it seems like there was/is/and will be a limited supply of water? Not only is there a shortage of water, but it seems that the water is very dirty also. Is the water problem so bad there that I should not buy a condo?

The water shortages that are a constant problem in Pattaya should be well down on the list of why you shouldn't consider buying anything in Pattaya.

Rent if you have to, buy if you have money to lose, up to you.

Seems to me that this question in Thai Visa Forum is not representitive of the general Farang population in Thailand.

Most of the posters on this Forum are married to high powered, high earning hi-so women, the others have girlfriends they met in top universities who have connections to the monied elite.

We even used to have a poster whose wife was having lunch with the deputy Prime Minister on a regular basis.

I have a friend trying to unload 4 houses in Pattaya, he's finding it impossible at the moment.

Some Thai guy has offered him 30% of his asking price and said it was 'Up to him ' if he took it or refused it, as there are many Farangs in the same position that will have to sell at a massive loss anyway.

Good job most Farang can walk away from Thailand without being completely skint after losing houses.

I could make a long list of reasons why it's by far the best place for ME to live in Thailand.

Many Farangs that live in Pattaya will spend a lot of the time moaning about Pattaya, especially those that have bought incredibly expensive poorly built housing and can see a day when they will lose it, either to a Thai wife or any member of her Family should she die before he does, even her ex husband if she has children from a relationship with a Thai man in a previous life can take over the house should something happen to her.................I'd be a bit worried myself too if I was ever in that position!!

Then there is the crime, pollution, even the traffic police wear face masks to protect against the air pollution, very odd for a beach resort.

Yet on the Pattaya forum of TV, they all act like it's paradise and they are so happy stuck in the traffic jams.

Maybe wishful thinking on their part, but reality is, most of the long termers in Pattaya think it's a dump that was better years ago and spend the bulk of their time complaining.

I paid for my car in Cash, I was charged a service charge at the Bangkok Bank in Chumpare as it's not my branch.

I took out enough to pay for a Fortuner in one visit, but charged a fee.

Pattaya is not a desirable place to live, it's overcrowded, dirty, polluted, at times it resembles a giant building site, the traffic problems are terrible, crime rates are spiralling...etc etc...

Take away the Bar scene, and the place has absolutely nothing to offer, unless your dream holiday or retirement destination involves walking around Big C or Carrefour.

If some time in the near future some progressive Thai Government decided that The Pattaya sex scene will be a thing of the past, those multi Million Baht Farang houses in Farang Ghettos might fetch 500,000 Baht off of a local Fisherman, most would just fall into disrepair after being on the market for years, unable to sell at all, at any price.

It's good for a night out, it's a good place to go for a holiday if you are a male.

That's it. To live in Pattaya full time, no way.

I just cannot imagine anyone who would travel thousands of miles to live in such a place full time, it don't make sense. Ok, 20 years ago, now, no way.

I don't see too many Farangs complain about getting away with a 200 Baht on the spot fine by the Highway Police for an offence that would have gotten them Banned for 6 months in the UK.

So I guess Farangs feel certain corruption is fine, as long as Farangs feel they benefit personally.

If it only benefits Thai people, then more Farang venom will be discharged from their yellowing fangs.

All I can see is observations of a general attitude from Farangs in internet Forums.

Many Farangs do come across in a superior manner, they do have the attitude that all Thais are dumb and bad drivers and all Thai men are lazy and drunk and all Thai women are.............well, you get the picture.

Of course, it's all total rubbish, but as a casual observer, I also get the same impression of superiority from many Farangs.
