  1. which of those too get jam packed with government hand outs
  2. Ok thought as I live in the sticks thought this may pass me by, but no got the phone cal this morning. First said she was from bangkok bank, then said a few things and then said you have a joint account only with us, no I said I also have an individual account opened 9 years ago at Chiang Mai and moved to Lam Plai Mat branch 7 years ago. Then she asked me what ID documents from Australia do you have, I said a passport and she said need 1 other an id card, said Australia doesnt have them, asked drivers license, yes I have an expired one( wont renew because have thai ones and hire companys in Oz take thai licenses not sure next time as Im over 70) I said I have bike and car Thai licenses, I have a pink card thai id and a yellow house book, none of those were accepted. I stated the way things are going in Australia a lot of over 65 wont have licenses soon so maybe you need to tell the high ups that maybe need a new way to verify us. Will hit the bank after lunch and report back then. This could also be an intepretation problem, like for a yellow house book it says if you have a work permit a copy must be included and if married a copy of certificate must be included, they read it as they 2 things are required not that only required if you have them at our Amphor office.
  3. Except in waiting in line as they fiddle with their phone to get that simple fast payment made LMAO
  4. Which I used on my last 2 cruises and it worked fantastic with no problems what so ever, maybe too many envelopes needed to get into Thailand
  5. Not that advanced is this one
  6. Dont wait report without doubt
  7. Live in the sticks, at my local check point I always get waved through and I think its because they dont speak english
  8. Number one just take a look at any thailand dashcam site they actually block roads driving on the wrong side. Number two they park anywhere they please especially if its to buy food. Nunber three really never saw this but then I live in the sticks
  9. So they only stopped 2261 locals then
  10. Hope the local in the pic was fined for no helmet, probably not, in the sticks I get waved through either because they know me and Im always polite, maybe, or they dont want to try and talk to me, most likely.
  11. The letter from the bank stating funds are fro outside the country.
  12. Thanks very much for that link it is so very helpful, if it haenglish page as well but hey ya cant have everything
  13. But make sure you get your purchase in a non see thru bag as my local used to when I liked a beer or two.
  14. Mmmm we were newly married when I got mine, but had been together 8 or so years, we had not only photos but also as stated earlier we had testimony letters from our next door and other people in the village to back us up, hope you get there in the end.
  15. What have they done added another person to sit in the tent at the side of the road, as helmetless riders go past on scooters with no mirrors or working lights at night, speeders who know that there is no mobile police force who can catch them. Best advice park your vehicle and dont go into the madness.
  16. So do you have a place in Oz, what will you be doing if you retire there, how far will your money go. Pattaya I have visited once while down Rayong way, dont think I will go back. Chiang Mai was ok for the year I spent there There are numerous places to base yourself that isnt a tourist trap, you can then you can go and visit lovely beaches or mountains or anything you like, it will all be new and fresh to you. you could also find like minded people and help out at schools or businesses or a vast array of things. But to each their own, I visited Oz last year to go on a cruise, only part I enjoyed was visiting Narrabri where real people still live, I dont miss the rest and was happy to come home
  17. Sugar cane can be cut green, most of the harvesters harvest it green and all the chaff gets left on the paddy.
  18. Another of the great Thai "Lets put a sign there and they will follow it" it follows the 100% helmet signs, the no fishing signs and no left or right turn signs and many others. Without a mobile police force nothing will change and then make 50% of fines to the police pension fund and the rest to police operations.
  19. True in Lam Plai Mat, they still scream up the main road out of town every night and every morning on the road next to town water supply never stopped.
  20. When they get to the constuition make both houses selected by the people, not selsected by anyone else
  21. So another sign failure then the 100% helmets in the village or school arent working along with so many other signs they put up and think will be obeyed
  22. You say it in the last sentence, undocumented, who or what are they, oh thats right they wouldnt lie, then you cant find them how the hell did that happen, if thats not open border I dont know what is.
  23. You must be mentally challenged to support someone who believes in an open border and who thinks giggling is the answer.
  24. Oh so blind how did it never flow like a river and then suddenly did
