  1. We had a few ladies who swept roads for a time but haven't seen them lately, when I lived in Chiang Mai there were people who cleaned different sections of the roads around the moat, they need a 1 baht deposit on all containers food and drink.
  2. Well on my morning walks, there is lots of litter on the roadside mainly drink containers and food containers, it slowly peters out at about 6 klms from town, and there are a few areas where some individuals weekly dump their household rubbish.
  3. Well they do up here in the sticks a lot, but I think Chinese they do that openly there, but also its not in the temple but outside.
  4. Oh the driver cant see 100 metres, it should never have started a turn.
  5. This is a one off thing as it happened to me when they changed accounts and yes I leapt as well after a quick check, The other thing is they say this rate is valid for x amount of time when you first log to it. Then you could hold and wait and see, maybe if you do a lot of cancels the penalty comes in.
  6. Before I bought clippers because of covid so the wife could do the whole family the local shop was 70baht but he always asked us what they charged last time, I didnt mind paying a bit more than the locals who couldnt afford much more than what he charged them as its not a wealthy town.
  7. 1 thing I have used mine for is easy access to the local hospital in emergencies which as I age have happened a couple of times at night lately.
  8. I just buy 3 large bottles of bleach on lazada and this does the trick.
  9. Mike Lister Replied: I will be delighted to do so, all anyone had to do was ask. Goodbye. Sorry everyone but you're on your own from hereon, straws and camels and all that. Dont let one melon who hopefully gets caught up with his 65k brought in each month, stop you from posting, tax in any country is a minefield with many interpretations and only with gathering information can you hope to get an insight, I wont have to pay tax here but I will need to do a return and will anyone with retirement or married extensions using monthly inputs it seems at this stage from a lot of countries, I know I worked in tax in Oz and the way I saw things was different others in my office on some things.
  10. Thanks yeah its sort of similar to Australia in a way, but you do get the choice to opt out if you dont think you will have no tax to pay in the future, I will have a small amount of tax to pay there this year I will make sure.
  11. We just have ours on our phones and send them in the line app, had a problem with some forms (Buri Ram) for pension just had to send them on the line app when we got home love working with small IO's.
  12. Does this mean if you have all the deductions ie 150k tax free and 60k 60k 190k and your amount brought in is under this, then you dont need to file a return or still have to file just dont have anything to pay.
  13. 1 thing for you for next time and others for the future ask for a phone number so you can ring before hand to see if it is ready yet, the first time I had a long wait time this year and rang on the day they told us too and they said try again tomorrow and it was ready then. the sticky note now stays in my passport with that number.
  14. I used 100mm blocks on a two room and man cave build, it is cool but as we dont live there yet only the inlaws do and it seems just fine, the guys who did it put in reinforcing beams at waist high, Ilooking back I maybe should have put venting bricks in the 2 rooms, I have them in the man cave as its very narrow with glass blocks as well for light its morning cool but afternoon warm will fix this in the future.
  15. Yeah dont get caught on the inside part of the road at Chaing Mai as all the water is pulled from the moat and that stuff can make you very sick.
  16. Yes living in the sticks does have at least one advantage ease of immigration visits.

  18. For my last 2 it was 4 days for each, then this one I did my marriage extension and it was due 2 days after I submitted and they just took it out of my passport and said dont worry and after the over a month wait with the extension I got that approval and a new 90 day in my passport. This was Buri Ram.
  19. I hate being forced to do anything, ie insurance when I got back in with an OA visa, I will be opening a joint account next month after my marriage extension comes out of consideration, they wouldnt do it as my visa only had 21 days, I will be buying insurance its 1200 baht as it helps the girl out who looks after me( free replacement of lost ATM card, they come out differently than in Australia so I often lose one) and has always been a help whenever we need to do anything.
  20. Just a heads up this is not CM but Buri Ram, but I was asked to show source of income, I have 2 pensions, needed a letter or email stating from where and how much. as they always say its a different world in each province, I went in ealy and my under consideration is actually about 36 days ends 21st Oct, which is a saturday, I'll be ringing on the 20th.
  21. Yeah in America you dont even have to pay in the first place just walk on out.
  22. No its not they are a sham appointed by the power hungry ex military
  23. Which is totally wrong as can be seen by this farce, both houses must be accountable and elected not one put up as a sham, can the big fella fix this or do they even want to.
