Pit bull attack in Bangkok market sparks safety concerns
BillyBloggs replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Gee I cant understand how something like this can happen in a land where dogs are allowed to freely roam about -
To the owners house and if they leave it on a leash, I have 2 dogs both rescued from road sides(both spayed females) one is a Bang Kaew(which the Thais are scared of) and the other a mix, we walk them locally every second day both on leashes, we do limit where we walk them because of stray dogs. I have never walked dogs near people off a leash, its not difficult and if it is keep them at home.

One good thing for Aussie ex military and civil servants our so called pensions are exempt, so I will only be bringing in that money from now on and if top up needed any money from bank account held before 1jan2024 and dividends that have already been taxed. Aged pension is not exempt, use it to pay for travel etc with a Oz travel agent.

Also not all local offices are the same, some read the what is required differently, like my office did, they read if married need a copy of marriage certificate as need to be married, that is just the start after we were married still a lot of hoops to jump through, but don't give up yours might be a more friendly office. -

Why is the Thai Countryside full of discarded rubbish?
BillyBloggs replied to stix40's topic in General Topics
We had a few ladies who swept roads for a time but haven't seen them lately, when I lived in Chiang Mai there were people who cleaned different sections of the roads around the moat, they need a 1 baht deposit on all containers food and drink. -

This is a one off thing as it happened to me when they changed accounts and yes I leapt as well after a quick check, The other thing is they say this rate is valid for x amount of time when you first log to it. Then you could hold and wait and see, maybe if you do a lot of cancels the penalty comes in.

Before I bought clippers because of covid so the wife could do the whole family the local shop was 70baht but he always asked us what they charged last time, I didnt mind paying a bit more than the locals who couldnt afford much more than what he charged them as its not a wealthy town.

1 thing I have used mine for is easy access to the local hospital in emergencies which as I age have happened a couple of times at night lately. -

Marriage extension not ready yet.
BillyBloggs replied to bob smith's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
1 thing for you for next time and others for the future ask for a phone number so you can ring before hand to see if it is ready yet, the first time I had a long wait time this year and rang on the day they told us too and they said try again tomorrow and it was ready then. the sticky note now stays in my passport with that number. -
I used 100mm blocks on a two room and man cave build, it is cool but as we dont live there yet only the inlaws do and it seems just fine, the guys who did it put in reinforcing beams at waist high, Ilooking back I maybe should have put venting bricks in the 2 rooms, I have them in the man cave as its very narrow with glass blocks as well for light its morning cool but afternoon warm will fix this in the future.

Yeah dont get caught on the inside part of the road at Chaing Mai as all the water is pulled from the moat and that stuff can make you very sick.
