Look this guy has a democratic socialist label so to knee jerk people there is no policy he can propose that they will be able to support. That is stupid. Some of his ideas are sensible and possibly doable and others not. Be fair. For example Trump who I consider to be leading a fascist movement and even though I strongly oppose fascism recently proposed lowering the costs on anti obesity drugs. That appears to be both possible to do and a fantastically beneficial policy idea. Heck, they should be free.

I'm sure there are situations where cops are sent where social workers would have been more effective and vice versa. No policy designed by humans can possibly be perfect and without risk. But using social workers sometimes in specifically defined types of situations is obviously very sensible and will obviously do more good than harm.

Ukraine is a sovereign nation. Nobody has ever claimed that it or it's government is perfect. The point of defending against the genocidal fascist dictator Putin is to fight to remain a sovereign nation instead of being erased by Russia and made their slaves. That is a good fight and good people should support that fight as long as Ukrainians do. As far as future leadership issues in Ukraine, that's up to the sovereign nation of Ukraine. Obviously Russia wants them to have elections in wartime as soon as possible because they want to manipulate an election there to try to install a Putin puppet. So if Zelinsky's time is over (not sure if it is or not) hopefully Ukraine has a way to make the transition without falling victim to Russia's propaganda and election manipulation games. Another point -- ignorant westerners and those brainwashed by Putin buy into the lie that Russian and Ukraine are basically the same just because there a lot of Russian speakers in Ukraine, etc. So to them it's no big deal for Ukraine to be erased by Russia. That is completely false. They are very different nations with very different histories and cultures.

Well I think they believe that he will fight hard for some small improvements and it's entirely possible that he will. He didn't promise any kind of revolution. If he's persistent in fighting hard it's likely he will be able to do some small things. Not many, but some. Will that be enough to keep him popular? Probably not. Winning is relative. It's been clear Ukraine has been willing to negotiate peace for a very long time but Putin is only interested in total surrender. So Ukaine's only real choice is to keep pushing Putin into a weaker negotiating position. The incredibly successful attacks on their energy infrastructure are making a major impact. Impossible to predict but it's entirely possible that this war will be going on for many more years. Some might say, that's not worth it, just surrender, but for the time being Ukrainians do not want to surrender. They know what being slaves of Russia means.

Z pro Putin bots and trolls Russian and western will be very activated like vulture-hyenas in the wake of the recent corruption issues in Ukraine. But those change nothing about why Ukraine fights to not be erased by Russia. It isn't about one man. It's about an entire country. The sovereign nation of Ukraine. If Zelinsky who has been an amazingly effective war president up till now loses his legitimacy and effectiveness to continue to lead, then he is expendable. Ukraine is not expendable. Maybe Zelinsky who does have incredible political skills can weather this storm, but if not, so be it. Let the Z pro Putin trolls have their gloating moment. The war goes on and Ukraine continues to have significant cards.

The not so funny thing is that the only solution for the U.S. health care mess is universal single payer. If Trump proposed that and passed it he could be a real hero and diminish his many scandals and failures. No democrat could ever get that passed because of socialism - phobia. But of course he won't. Everyone knows Thai style stir fried morning glory. Pak boong fai deng. But today I saw on a menu -- SHREDDED morning glory. Got the dish and it was spiced extremely well, possibly a different recipe than the regular. So the flavor was great. What came were indeed SHREDDED stalks (no leaves). However, what shocked me was the texture. Extremely hard to chew. So much so that I found it was too much work to chew the entire dish so had to spit out some of it as I'm not willing to spend a hour chewing greens. It was so rough I can imagine people could even choke on it. I'm at a total loss about why this was. At first I thought maybe a different vegetable but found that shredded style morning glory is really a thing. However, compared to the picture below my dish was even more shredded than that. Maybe they have a special machine to make it so thin. Then I wondered, was that texture intentional? If so, why and how? I don't recall ever getting a plate of regular style that was any kind of effort to eat. Anyway, I certainly enjoyed having the experience, but a plate of green vegetables that is harder to chew than a tough Thai beef steak isn't my usual idea of a good time. Here's a way to generalize/universalize this beyond technicalities about traffic lights. First choice Do you tend to take potential bodily harm risks to save some time and avoid looking cowardly to onlookers? Second choice Do you tend towards possibly excessive caution in order to be safer from bodily harm and swallow your pride knowing that some onlookers may think you're a silly wimp?
