  1. OP: no worry...no problem...bet your wife doing the same!
  2. According to the latest Thaiger news briefing 9 September 2024 UK retirees coming to live (or living) in Thailand are NOT taxed and no doubt any new law will reflect UK retirees do not have to pay tax here. "Does Thailand tax expats? Thailand does not impose tax on your income earned in the UK if you live in Thailand. You remain liable for UK taxes as a British citizen. Since Thailand and the UK have a double taxation agreement, you will not pay tax in both places on the same income. If your income comes from sources within Thailand, that may attract local taxes." 3. zero time...my laundry shop does the ironing
  4. Many thanks your kind advice to relax. I will try to do that. And do please now close this thread as I now have the info I need. Incidentally next time there is yet another lengthy topic in Thai Visa Forum telling us especially from a non-qualified person that we will all soon need to pay Thai taxes as he voluntarily does you would also tell him to relax and no try to scare monger many of us on matters that may or may not impact us.
  5. Yes you are quite right...I have sent my knickers to be dry cleaned!
  6. Yes i know that...I am referring to the income received in Thailand whereby it reaches a level when it then becomes subject to Thai income tax.
  7. Yes I will assume for discussion purposes u are correct and the Elite Visa is not tax exempt. Now as with many others i currently have the 1 year retirement visa. In my case based on the 800k in the bank. i could equally have the retirement visa based on showing the 65k per month etc. My question is simply this and maybe I have not made myself clear: If (and no decision has been made yet will wait to see what develops) I changed to an Elite Visa there appears to be no minimum Thai income requirement which is different from the retirement visa. So, if I received the Elite Visa and my Thai income was shown by my Thai bank statement to be less than the annual amount where Thai income tax is due then the argument is I do not need to file a Thai tax return.... right or not?
  8. Excuse me I not understand whats me doing extensions got anything to do with my question? With retirement visa need to show 65k a monthly income (or annual equivalent)...If i have an Elite visa no minimum income required. So I could have an annual income below that required to pay tax here.
  9. Currently i hold a retirement visa (800k in bank) and am wondering if any benefit in changing to an Elite Gold. (detriment i know is the fee!) If I do get such a Visa then no obligation to file any tax return even if i stay here in Thailand all year round if my Thai income is below the minimum to file such a return? Is that correct?
  10. I filled in form again and resubmitted and now acknowledged.
  11. Its Saturday and i tried to submit my 90 day online but no response and no e mail confirmation. Do they turn this off on weekends ?
  12. Hello TantrikLvr, I would like to thank you very much for taking the time to tell me your view and experiences. Particularly the expression 'too good to be true' company and "suspiciously inexpensive" are apt and explaining your own personal dealing are very revealing. Its assisted me greatly about whether I want to pursue anything with this company. take care.\Thx again, 🙂
  13. A broker recently contacted me saying they offer a good deal for yearly medical insurance, I did some checking on internet= many complaints... .... Anyone here know or have experience of this company?
  14. I am currently looking to rent a different place to live in Thailand under a 1-year lease., Some Landlords (or their agents) are asking me for a deposit of 2 months and one month rent in advance. I thought I read somewhere that in some cases they can only ask for 1 month deposit. Would someone kindly clarify the correct position for me? Thanks in advance.
  15. Yes, another one...but what is wrong with some of these people? It's just going to make it worse for we other foreigners living here in Thailand.
