  1. I'm not disputing you, the tax guy you spoke to or the tax guys that I have spoken to, or the information that I have read with my own eyes. At the end of the day ( hopefully soon ) it is what the RD says, goes.
  2. When is that going to happen ? Any idea of a timeframe ? I'll worry about Thailand taxing worldwide income when they announce a start date.
  3. I have never seen this mentioned or discussed outside the pages of AN. Which is also the information that can be read on the pages of tax professional websites. It is also the information that is being given out by more than 1 tax professional consultancy. But flies directly in the face of the information I was given on Monday from an RD Office. Hopefully we will.get a definitive answer when forms get published on the RD website.
  4. Right, so you completely understand the part on KYC and the relevant parts on tax evasion and tax compliance Which pertains to, funnily enough, remtted incomes.
  5. You want to try that one again ? It took Nazir Afzal in 2011 to ( hopefully ) grab Starmer by the throat and get him to act. You might also want to read this https://news.sky.com/story/grooming-gangs-scandal-timeline-what-happened-what-inquiries-there-were-and-how-starmer-was-involved-after-elon-musks-accusations-13285021 Starmer is a weak, spineless, useless article. His father made the biggest tool in the world. The Country is just about to find out how much of a tool he is.
  6. Can you remember back when the RD said that they were going to update the PND 90/91 to include expat tax residents ? What if they dont, and just introduce a brand new, shiny PND92, specifically for non working, tax resident expats. Which would probably be easier 😀😀 And perhaps you should have a read of this, its only 67 pages, not counting the embedded external links. https://www.rd.go.th/fileadmin/user_upload/FATCA_File/crs/Thailand_CRS_Guidance_280823.pdf
  7. Yes, and someone's opinion is not fact Try reading the actual CRS documentation. You will find it on the RD website. Which just might be construed as fact and not opinion.
  8. The thread isnt about race riots, its about convicted grooming gang members still walking about UK streets. You might ask yourself why Labour would be dead set against a National Inquiry with the powers to arrest people who ignored, covered up or turned a blind eye to what was going on. Some light reading that may explain it https://labour25.com/labour25/
  9. Right so how many expats that are not retirees are tax residents of Thailand ? Which is what this thread is mainly about. All the old codgers who are resistant and terrified of change from ' This is the way its always been done ' Trying to convince themselves that change will never happen in Thailand.
  10. There is a big document on CRS on the RD website. It explains the whole process, including the various reporting chains I suggest that people read it.
  11. The majority of retiree expat tax residents in Thailand are using cryptocurriencies ? Neeranam, your having a laugh.
  12. Yumthai, I personally could not care less whether I have to file anything or not. There appears to be many people that are in denial that things are changing, from a tax perspective in Thailand, and the genie isn't going back in the bottle. What happened, or didn't happen in the past is gone. What happens going forward is what counts. In 2023 CRS in Thailand was restricted to From Jan 2024, the following were added The reporting chain means that banks ( FI's ) have to report to the RD by June 2025 for tax year 2024. The RD need to consolidate and forward their report by September 2025. How does the RD consolidate and forward their reporting obligations under CRS, If tax resident foreigners are not reporting their remitted income ? The banks ( FI's ) can report remiited income. The RD needs to ensure that those remittances are not evading tax and are tax compliant. So big changes will be happening sooner, rather than later, and it is something that we need to prepare for.
  13. Ha. I didn't know that was trial date. I think the outcome of this trial will be getting a lot of media airtime.
  14. This is probably absolutely true. Which is why I said above But it will never happen, as Doversity is our strength or some such Krap. Code for being scared ****less.
  15. Is there really hundreds of thousands of people who fall under CRS jurisdiction tax residents of Thailand ? Extract from that, the people who's income is direct deposited from Government Pension administrators, and others that have income paid direct that are exempt Thai taxation by way of DTA. ( Transfer code will identify them easily ) Probably doesn't leave too many that are transfering by other methods. On Monday. There was at least 20 RD employees at desks in an open plan office. I have no idea how many were in the whole building. I was the only person in there. And you are looking at it from the wrong angle. Look at it from the angle of Mohammed ( us ) goes to the mountain ( The RD ) the mountain ( ( RD ) does not go to Mohammed ( us )
  16. Context https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp3wkzgpjxvo 31 month sentence. A Labour councillor is up in Court soon for calling on the throats of the far right to be cut. Lets see what his sentence is.
  17. It wasn't ignored by the last Government. Suella Braverman set up a Taskforce, which have currently arrested another 550 individuals. Not good enough is appropriate, to say it was ignored is false. And passing it down to local authorities is not the answer. As many of these creatures are embedded within the local councils. So I'll believe action to " sort it out " is being taken when. 1. 5 purpose built prisons break ground. 2. A National Taskforce is set up, to go after, arrest without prejidice, every single perpetrator. 3. A National Inquiry is set up, with the remit of identifying every single person, dead or alive, that was involved in any way of turning a blind eye, covering up, or in a position of authority rhat knew but stayed silent. 4. The EHCR are told, every single person that is a dual / Foreign National will be deported on completion of sentence, no ifs, no buts, no appeals, prison gate to a holding cell / plane and out. That would be action, anything else is window dressing.
  18. Interesting comment How are the new Government going to sort it out ? It needs action and not soundbites. The time for action has long past, 550 have been arrested over the last 2 years and it is still going on up and down the Country. Starmer struggles to define what a woman is. So as sure as eggs are eggs, he will not have a hope in hell of defining " Sort it out " So I really am looking forward to someone, anyone, spelling out what " Sort it " means.
  19. Or adds a PND 92 for foreign tax residents That will cause a meltdown of epic proportions 😀😀
  20. For Thai taxpayers I agree But we are not talking about Thai taxpayers here. We are talking about people who remit money into Thailand, who in the main do not file tax returns or pay tax in Thailand. You might want to look into who Thai banks under CRS have to report customer account information to. I'll save you the time and effort of looking. Its the Revenue Department.
  21. Right up until Musk's tirade, suggesting deportation would have been Wacist. Today, it would end up at the EHCR, where he would be allowed to stay, due to having a right to a family life. Filling the pockets of Human Rights Lawyers with cash, on appeal after apeal, along the way. Never forget. " These girls should shut their mouths, for the sake of Diversity " Naz Shah, Labour MP. " Calls for a National Inquiry, are coming from the far right " Kier Starmer. Labour PM. Nice to know that the many 1000's of victims, who want a National Inquiry are Right Wing *&@#$@%.
  22. I never said such a thing. Why do you feel the need to outright lie ? Are you losing the plot or imbibing substances that you should clear of ? I did give an example on the difference, from a tax evasion / tax compliance aspect. The Difference between money being direct deposited into a Thai Bank account from a Pension Administrator and how transferring the same money via wise would raise red flags. Anyway, riddle me this, since you keep banging on about America and FATCA. If I am a retiree Resident Alien in the US. Am I required to file a tax return and declare my worldwide income ? That is a rhetorical question, no need to answer. But perhaps you could answer why Thailand should be any different to the US ? Careful now, you can always take the 5th.
  23. Yes, correct. Correct again Correct again. It is the Revenue Departments ( Tax ) job to ensure that remittances into Thailand are not part of tax evasion and are tax compliant with both Thailand and the Home Country.
  24. Read this carefully How does a Wise transfer / other platforms available, into a Thai bank account prove that the remittance is not involved in tax evasion and is tax compliant ? Do you really think that a " It's all kosher guv, honest " is suitable for compliance with an international agreement ?
