The crash occurred at around 01.00 near kilometre marker 17, close to a highway police service area in Khlong Suan Phlu subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district. Police Lieutenant Samart Raksasak of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station responded to the incident along with local fire crews and rescue teams. At the scene, firefighters battled intense flames engulfing a six-wheeled lorry fully loaded with mangoes. The blaze had quickly spread to two police patrol vehicles parked nearby, damaging them, Authorities have given no details of if the police vehicles were at the scene prior to the collision or parked too close to the developing incident. It took more than 30 minutes for the fire to be brought under control. Debris was strewn across the road, including hundreds of mangoes and the detached wheel of the lorry. The trailer, which was transporting cement, showed significant damage to its rear and signs of minor fire damage. Eyewitnesses reported that torrential rain and powerful winds severely reduced visibility. One witness following the mango truck said they saw flames coming from its rear wheels moments before it lost control and crashed heavily into the trailer, reigniting a fierce fire. Mr Somporn 44, the driver of the mango lorry, said he had been transporting mangoes from Sukhothai province to Samut Sakhon. As he approached the service area, heavy rain impaired his visibility, preventing him from seeing the stationary trailer in time to avoid a collision. Fortunately, he managed to escape from his burning vehicle unharmed. Mr Nookrai 43, the driver of the trailer, stated that he had been resting inside his vehicle when he was awoken by the sound of a violent crash. He quickly moved his truck and trailer away from the flames to prevent further damage. Highway police officers at the scene confirmed that the stormy weather had created hazardous driving conditions. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Police have collected evidence from the scene and have summoned both drivers for further questioning as they continue to investigate the cause of the incident. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 00.10 on 27 April at the entrance to Soi 6, Village 3, Ban Rai subdistrict, Damnoen Saduak district. Police from Damnoen Saduak Station, forensic officers, hospital staff, and rescue workers rushed to the scene. They discovered the body of Mr Ekkarin 36, lying face-up on the road. His head showed severe injuries from blunt force trauma and two gunshot wounds. Near the scene, officers recovered a .357 calibre bullet and found a holster still strapped to the deceased’s waist, but the firearm itself was missing. It was also reported that another man had been critically wounded by gunfire and had been rushed to Damnoen Saduak Hospital by witnesses. According to preliminary investigations, Mr Ekkarin, who had resigned from his post but continued supporting local administrative work, had attended the ordination ceremony at a nearby temple. As the event concluded, he walked alone towards his parked vehicle at the mouth of the alley. Residents reported hearing a loud commotion and emerged to find four young men assaulting Mr Ekkarin. Witnesses then heard multiple gunshots before the assailants fled on motorcycles, leaving Mr Ekkarin lying motionless. It later emerged that one of the attackers had also been injured during the scuffle. Police believe that during the struggle, Mr Ekkarin may have attempted to draw his own firearm and shot one of the assailants, only for the gun to be wrested away and used against him. He was shot twice in the head and beaten with a blunt object. The injured assailant has been placed under police guard at the hospital, pending interrogation once his condition improves. Investigators have already identified the suspects involved and will seek arrest warrants from Ratchaburi Provincial Court. Mr Ekkarin’s body has been sent to Ratchaburi Hospital’s forensic unit for autopsy to extract the bullets for further examination. The crash occurred at around 06.00 on the Bang Na–Trat Road, kilometre marker 37, inbound towards Bangkok, in Bang Samak subdistrict, Bang Pakong district, Chachoengsao province. Pol. Lt. Somsak Puangsuk, an investigating officer at Bang Pakong Police Station, rushed to the scene alongside rescue teams from Chachoengsao. Officers found a severely damaged minivan, registered in Bangkok, which had collided with the rear of a six-wheeled lorry belonging to a transport company, also registered in Bangkok. Inside the minivan, rescuers discovered the body of Mr Saharat 23, trapped behind the steering wheel. Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to extricate the body, which was later sent to Bang Pakong Hospital for autopsy. According to Mr Somporn 41, the driver of the six-wheeled lorry, he had just refuelled and was merging from the frontage road onto the express lanes when he suddenly heard a loud crash from behind. On exiting his vehicle, he found that the minivan had slammed into the back of his lorry with great force, resulting in the driver’s instant death, a fact confirmed by rescue workers at the scene. Mr Prasert and Mrs Phannee, the victim’s grieving parents, spoke through tears, saying that their son was known to drive cautiously and was preparing to enter the monkhood in a few weeks’ time. “Just this morning, we saw him and spoke to him. The South Pattaya beach area near Walking Street, where he first met the victim and exchanged contact details via the WeChat application. During the re-enactment at the bus station, the victim’s father, Mr. Auan, aged 61, along with other family members, attempted to confront the suspect. Mr. Auan struck Tongyuan in the face with a plastic bottle before collapsing, needing assistance from police officers. Speaking through tears, Mr. Auan recalled his child’s dedication. Four years ago, Mina had gone to Taiwan to study Chinese, later returning to Pattaya, where she worked and regularly sent 10,000 baht home each month. Mina had recently completed building a house for her parents and had promised to take them on a trip to China, a dream now shattered by her untimely death. Tongyuan who was arrested by Immigration Police at Suvarnabhumi Airport just hours after the body was discovered, as he prepared to board a flight to Kunming, Yunnan Province. He confessed through an interpreter that after Mina refused to engage in sexual activity or refund the agreed fee of 8,000 baht, a violent argument ensued. Following the killing, he admitted to “playing with the body” and sleeping next to it before fleeing. Despite the shocking nature of the crime, police ruled out human trafficking or organ trading motives, citing that the removal of organs appeared to be driven by macabre curiosity rather than commercial intent. However, they await forensic confirmation regarding any missing body parts. Tongyuan faces charges of murder and theft. Authorities have not found evidence suggesting he suffered from psychiatric disorders, despite his bizarre actions and his claim that the scissors were purchased purely for self-defence. He later claimed a cat had darted across the road, forcing him to swerve. At around 02:55, police at Wichit Police Station were alerted to the accident in Moo 3, Wichit subdistrict, Muang district. Officers, along with local ambulance and rescue teams, rushed to the scene on Khwang Road. They found a white BMW, registration number from Phuket, had smashed through the som tam shop, continuing into the neighbouring property before coming to a halt. Both the shop and house suffered damage. The driver, identified as Mr Jack Richard Tenny, 50, a British national, sustained minor injuries. A passenger, Ms Danielle Joyce Swaby, 48, also British, was injured and transported to Dibuk Hospital for treatment. Following the accident, the shop and homeowners arrived to inspect the damage. Police recorded the scene and took Mr Tenny in for questioning after treatment, to Wichit Police Station. According to Mr Tenny’s statement, he had been driving from Kathu subdistrict towards his residence in Chalong when a cat suddenly crossed the road. He swerved to avoid hitting it, resulting in the loss of control and the crash. Authorities have contacted the insurance company linked to the vehicle to assess the damage and ensure compensation for the affected shop and homeowners. Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang, superintendent of Wichit Police Station, confirmed that preliminary investigations suggest the crash was caused by the driver swerving to avoid the cat. No serious injuries or fatalities were reported. Blood alcohol tests were conducted at Dibuk Hospital, and police are currently awaiting the results. At approximately 18:00 on 26 April, Pol. Lt. Thanongsak Inphadung, deputy inspector at Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a foreign national being stabbed outside a condominium on Soi Khao Phra Tamnak 4, Pattaya, Chonburi Province. The incident was immediately reported to Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyoo, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station. Rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Pattaya Foundation and hospital emergency teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as Mr Romanov Mikhail, a Russian national, bleeding heavily from a deep stab wound to the neck. Emergency responders provided initial treatment before rushing him to Pattaya City Hospital in a serious condition. Witnesses at the scene stated that the attack stemmed from jealousy involving the victim, who was the ex-boyfriend of a foreign woman. Although the pair had ended their relationship, they continued to stay in frequent contact. The new boyfriend, also a foreigner living nearby, had been keeping a close watch on the woman’s movements. Upon witnessing the woman sitting with her former partner outside the condominium, the new boyfriend flew into a rage, brandishing a knife and stabbing the victim viciously in the neck. Despite his injuries, the victim attempted to fight back but quickly failing due to his wound and blood loss. The assailant then calmly walked away, disposing of the weapon in a nearby rubbish bin before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage captured the entire incident clearly. At around 15.30, Police Lieutenant Monthian Phukhao, an investigator from In Buri Police Station, Singburi province, received a report of a motorcycle crash involving fatalities and injuries at the “Twin Bridge Curve” on the In Buri–Nong Sum Road, Moo 3, Huai Chan sub-district. Emergency responders, including doctors from In Buri Hospital and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, were dispatched to the scene. The crash site, known locally as “Twin Bridge Curve” due to an old double bridge followed by a sharp bend, showed a long scrape mark on the road surface. A blue Honda Wave motorbike, registration number from Singburi, was found overturned by the roadside. About 10 metres away lay the body of a 14-year-old girl, with severe head injuries after she struck a concrete electricity pole during the crash. Three other girls, all the same age, were found injured and were immediately transported to In Buri Hospital for treatment. Initial investigations revealed that the four teenagers had ridden together to buy bubble tea and were returning home when the driver lost control at the curve, causing the motorbike to hit the roadside barrier and veer off the road. According to police, the suspect, described as a man wearing a green shirt, black full-face helmet, black tracksuit trousers with white stripes, and black trainers, entered the store wielding a gun, though it remains unclear whether the weapon was real or a replica. After seizing the gold, the robber fled the scene, leaving behind the firearm and a hammer used to smash the display cases. Police, led by Pol Col Phattanawong Janphon, Superintendent of Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, along with investigative and patrol units, rushed to the scene. At approximately 15:30 on 25 April, officers from Si Somdet Police Station received reports of a fatal incident involving a falling telecommunications mast at the entrance to Ban Phosai Noi in Phosai subdistrict, Si Somdet district, Roi Et province. Police, accompanied by medical staff from Si Somdet Hospital, were dispatched to the scene. The site was located in a lemongrass field adjacent to paddy fields, where a dismantling operation was underway. Emergency personnel found the body of Mr Amrit 37, lying face-up at the scene. He suffered multiple fractures, and a safety harness was still attached to his waist. A preliminary examination was carried out at the site before the body was released to the family for religious rites. According to Mr Samian, 33, who witnessed the incident, the deceased was working up the mast and had been dismantling the 48-metre-high mast section by section. Approximately 10 metres had already been removed over two days of work. During the operation, a gripping device securing the sling cable, holding the mast in position, reportedly slipped, causing the mast to collapse and fall, with the victim still attached to it. The incident unfolded at a house in Ban Pa Tong Don Sai Thong, Moo 8, Sila Phet subdistrict, Pua district. Mr Thamchinda “Pong” Nakai, aged 41, allegedly used an axe to strike his 80-year-old adoptive father, Mr Inphai Nakai, fatally as he slept. He then turned the weapon on his adoptive mother, Mrs Phai Nakai, also 80, who was preparing chilli paste in the kitchen, killing her as well. Following the double murder, Mr Pong hanged himself in his bedroom. A chilling message he had scrawled on the wall, cursing others, was discovered nearby. Neighbours raised the alarm after a local frog seller found the house unusually quiet when delivering an order. Concerned, neighbours forced entry and found Mr Inphai dead on his bed with severe head injuries. In the kitchen, Mrs Phai was found lifeless, beside a mortar and pestle, with similar wounds to the head. Upon further inspection, Mr Pong’s body was discovered in his bedroom, hanging by a piece of cloth. Relatives told reporters that both Mr Inphai and Mrs Phai had their own children from previous marriages before they met. Mr Pong was taken in and raised as their own after being abandoned at birth in a hospital. The couple treated him as their biological son, while their other children moved away to start their own families. According to relatives, Mr Pong was an alcoholic who frequently argued with Mr Inphai. He had mortgaged the family home and land, and it is believed mounting financial pressure and the prospect of losing the property may have driven him to commit the murders. It was also revealed that Mr Pong had written the ominous message on the wall as early as 16 April but had covered it with a cloth, hiding it from view. During the recent Songkran festival, he had asked relatives to take a family photo, stating cryptically that it would be needed later, a request that, at the time, raised no suspicions. Mr Saenoh Kongkhun, the village assistant headman and a neighbour, said he had noticed nothing unusual on the morning of the incident. The incident occurred in the early hours of 23 April at around 02:20 on Borommaratchachonnani Road, Salathammasop subdistrict, when Mr Kamol’s Ferrari collided with a Mercedes-Benz, resulting in both vehicles catching fire. A pickup truck was also damaged in the crash. Mr Kamol revealed that an agreement had been reached with both parties. As compensation, he agreed to provide the owner of the destroyed Mercedes-Benz with a new model, a Mercedes-Benz C200 AMG, which is an upgrade from the vehicle lost in the fire. Meanwhile, the owner of the damaged pickup truck, Mr Thongpitak Saklaew, aged 51, received a monetary settlement of 55,000 baht. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. Investigators at Thammasala Police Station stated that the legal case remains ongoing. Authorities are awaiting forensic results before summoning the drivers of all three vehicles to face potential charges. The lorry, bearing registration number from Nakhon Ratchasima, was travelling from Wang Nam Khiao district towards Kabin Buri district along Highway 304. Upon reaching Ban Thung Faek, Village 3, in Thung Pho subdistrict, Na Di district, the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. The lorry first sideswiped a black Honda City, registered in Loei province, which was parked at the roadside with no occupants inside. Following the initial collision, the out-of-control vehicle veered into a makeshift fruit stall, tragically killing three people on-site. The victims were identified as Ms Usa Phaopeng, 38, the stall owner, and her two sons, Phuwadol Phonsueb, 12, and Peerapat Phonsueb, aged just six. The driver of the lorry, Mr Jiraphong Aekkratok, along with his wife Ms Supatra Wichaisung and their two sons, Jiraphat and Jirayu Aekkratok, all sustained minor injuries. They were promptly transported to Na Di Hospital for medical treatment. Local authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.
