  2. Picture from responders. Kanchanaburi, August 19, a thief who broke into an old bank building to steal valuables found himself in a tight spot, literally, after attempting to flee from police and falling between two buildings. At 10:00, local police in Kanchanaburi were alerted to suspicious activity at a former bank building. Upon arriving, officers discovered signs of a break-in and drug paraphernalia inside the premises. A shirtless suspect, believed to be around 40 years old, was also spotted. In a desperate attempt to escape, the man ran to the rooftop of the building and made his way across the roofs of nearby homes. After covering about 100 metres, he lost his footing and fell into a narrow gap, approximately 50 centimetres wide, between an electronics store and a CCTV installation shop. Rescue workers from the Pitakkan Rescue Foundation were called to the scene. After more than an hour, they managed to pull the exhausted suspect to safety using a rope. He was taken to the hospital with a sprained ankle and multiple scrapes before being detained for further investigation on charges of theft. -- 2024-08-20 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. 4. Picture from responders. August 19, a military vehicle en route to a training exercise in Saraburi lost control and collided with a parked trailer after suffering a tyre blowout, resulting in 18 soldiers being injured, two of them seriously. The incident occurred at kilometre marker 16 on Mittraphap Road, inbound to Saraburi, in Tambon Thap Kwang, Kaeng Khoi District. Pol. Lt. Col. Jaroon Udkhammi, an investigator at Kaeng Khoi Police Station, responded to the accident after receiving a report from the 191 emergency centre. Rescue teams from Por Tek Tung Foundation and Ruamkatanyu Foundation, as well as medical personnel from Thap Kwang, were dispatched to the scene. The military vehicle, a four-wheeled truck bearing the insignia of the military training unit, was found with its right rear tyre blown out, revealing exposed wire. The vehicle was carrying tent frames and other camping equipment in its rear cargo area. The windshield was shattered, and inside the cabin, blood was found on the steering wheel and driver's seat. A note inside identified the vehicle as "Truck No. 6." The collision damaged a parked trailer, which fortunately did not hit the NGV gas tank, preventing a potential explosion or fire risk. The impact left a skid mark over 20 metres long on the road. The military truck belonged to a canine training battalion based in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima. The soldiers were being transported to a training site in Saraburi when the tyre exploded, leading to the accident. Among the 18 injured soldiers, two sustained severe injuries. All were promptly given first aid by rescue workers and transported to Kaeng Khoi Hospital. Mr. Jamlong, 42, the owner of the parked trailer, said he had stopped his vehicle by the roadside when he heard the tyre explode, after which the military vehicle swerved and struck his trailer, causing damage. Police have recorded the scene and are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident. The military truck driver will be questioned once he is discharged from the hospital. -- 2024-08-20 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. 10. Picture and video from responders. The Ruamkusol Samut Prakan Foundation responded to an call after a car owner discovered a 2 metre long python coiled under the hood of his vehicle in a parking lot in Pak Nam, Samut Prakan Province. The incident occurred when Anurak Saongo, the car owner, attempted to start his blue-grey Toyota Sport Rider, only to find the engine unresponsive. Suspecting an issue with the battery, he opened the hood slightly and was startled when his partner shined a flashlight and spotted the large snake inside. This was not the first time; a similar incident had occurred previously with another large snake. Fearing the python might have eaten several missing cats in the area, Anurak quickly closed the hood and called for help. The foundation's rescue team arrived at the scene equipped with snake-handling tools. After carefully lifting the hood, they found the python curled up in the engine bay. Using their expertise, the rescuers safely captured the snake and placed it in a sack for release back into the wild. Narapong Sukmak, a member of the rescue team, confirmed the python was successfully removed and would be safely released into its natural habitat. This was the second time the same car had attracted a large snake, prompting the owner to hope that this would be the last. -- 2024-08-19 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million.
