Georgealbert replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya
Let me try to explain further, it would appear the female Uzbekistani tourist was on the back of a motorbike, she then jumped off and dived into a pond, apparently trying to drown herself. It is not known who the man was that was riding the motorbike. The two passing by navy officers noticed her and dived in and pulled her out. The female tourist is sat wearing a black shirt and the navy officers are next to her, the ones in red are emergency responders. The pictures were taken by responders sometime after she had been pulled out and the one below shows the pond in the background. -

Georgealbert replied to Georgealbert's topic in Central Thailand
Updated details reported in Thai media. “Authorities, including Police Colonel Pakin Siwamethakul, Deputy Chief of Samut Sakhon Provincial Police, Police Colonel Somchai Korka, Superintendent of Khok Kham Police Station, Police Lieutenant Colonel Prasop Panjang, Deputy Superintendent of Khok Kham Police Station, forensic investigators from Samut Sakhon, a medical examiner from Samut Sakhon Hospital, and rescue personnel from the Samut Sakhon Charity Foundation, attended to the scene. There they found a two-seater aircraft, model CH601, registration number HS-DEV, crashed onto the roof of a resort room. The aircraft and the house were engulfed in flames, which firefighters from the Khok Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organisation extinguished in about 20 minutes. Inspection revealed that the aircraft's engine had detached and was found outside the building, while the wings remained on the roof. The house suffered extensive damage. The body of the pilot, identified as 33-year-old Mr. Phudit, was found on the ground, severely burned. Mr. Pracha Mung Raksachon, manager of Best Ocean Airfield, stated that the deceased was a flight instructor. He noted that the aircraft had not been flown for over three years and was intended to be relocated to Klong 11 in Pathum Thani. The flight's timeline is under investigation, and it was observed that the aircraft descended and there was no explosion or visible fire, thus indicating potential engine failure. Eyewitness Mr. Nipon, 65, reported seeing the aircraft circling back within 20 minutes after takeoff. He believed the plane experienced issues, descending sharply over a chicken fighting arena before pulling up and circling a nearby fishpond area. The pilot then seemed to attempt a low descent, clipping the resort's roof before crashing. Preliminary police investigations suggest engine failure as the likely cause of the crash. Further investigations will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the incident.” https://workpointnews.com/around/news/N6372YR#goog_rewarded -
August 3, at approximately 07:55, Chiang Mai International Airport, Screening Checkpoint a section of the ceiling at the screening checkpoint in Chiang Mai International Airport collapsed, injuring two passengers. Both injured individuals are children and foreign nationals. One is a Dutch child who sustained minor injuries to the back of the hand, while the other is a Chinese child who suffered a head injury. Emergency medical staff at the airport responded immediately, providing first aid to the injured passengers. Air Vice Marshal Ronakorn Chaloemsanyakorn, Director of Chiang Mai International Airport, oversaw the situation closely and coordinated the response efforts. Following the incident, the Dutch child and family chose to continue their journey to Don Mueang Airport. Chiang Mai Airport has coordinated with Don Mueang Airport to ensure their safe arrival and further medical care. The Chinese passenger was taken to a private hospital in Chiang Mai for a detailed examination and received stitches for a 5 cm head wound. Subsequently, they returned to Chiang Mai Airport to continue their journey to Hat Yai Airport. Airport staff assisted with all necessary arrangements, including providing new clothing, issuing new boarding passes for the entire family, arranging lunch, and offering access to the VIP lounge. Additionally, they were given a small financial compensation, and further care will be coordinated with the insurance company. Air Vice Marshal Ronakorn Chaloemsanyakorn expressed his deepest apologies and regret for the incident, acknowledging the error and welcoming any feedback for future improvements. The collapse was attributed to structural weakness in the ceiling panels caused by moisture from the air conditioning ducts above. The insulation on these ducts had absorbed significant moisture due to recent continuous rainfall, leading to the ceiling's inability to support the weight. The ducts were already scheduled for maintenance and replacement. Immediate actions have been taken to remove damaged and weakened ceiling panels, and efforts are underway to complete the maintenance as soon as possible.

Emergency responders promptly extinguished the fire and recovered the body of the pilot, who had been severely burned. Initial reports suggest that the aircraft encountered mechanical problems shortly after takeoff. It is believed that the pilot attempted to return to the airport but crashed into the house's roof, igniting a fire. Fortunately, the house was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the crash, examining whether engine failure or low altitude flight contributed to the tragic accident.” https://www.nationtv.tv/news/region/378946618#google_vignette -

Following on from the Singapore Airline incident, “Turbulence left one man dead and several other severely injured earlier this year. And now it's to blame for a menu change on an Asian airline. On August 1, at 16:00, Lt. Col. Sombat Kaewmoolmook, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), was alerted to an incident where a 37-year-old South Korean tourist had drowned and lost consciousness at Tawaen Beach on Koh Larn, Moo 7, Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. Upon receiving the report, officials and rescue units from Sawang Boriboon Foundation, Pattaya, quickly responded. Rescue personnel and locals attempted to revive the unconscious tourist by transporting him to Ban Koh Larn Community Medical Center, Pattaya. Despite the medical team's efforts to resuscitate him, the tourist was pronounced dead. Investigations revealed that the deceased had traveled to Koh Larn with a fellow South Korean friend. They were snorkeling near Tawaen Beach when the deceased suddenly lost consciousness and floated face down in the water. His friend noticed the unusual behavior and urgently dragged him back to shore, shouting for assistance. Authorities conducted initial witness interviews and planned to send the body to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Preliminary assumptions suggested drowning, but a detailed autopsy is awaited. Earlier, on July 30, at 09:18, another South Korean tourist, aged 82 and sharing the same surname as the recent victim, drowned while swimming at Tawaen Beach on Koh Larn. Initial police speculation indicated that the elderly tourist might have had an underlying health condition that led to the incident. However, a conclusive cause of death is pending the autopsy results. Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Ensarn, Inspector of Tourist Police Station 4, Sub-Division 2, Division 1, visited the area to investigate the drowning incidents. Despite ongoing efforts by Pattaya Tourist Police to prevent such occurrences and implement rescue measures, further preventative strategies are being considered to avoid repeat tragedies. https://workpointnews.com/around/news/NUN8MFK
