The Justice Department is planning to charge Boeing with fraud after prosecutors said the company failed to implement an agreed upon anti-fraud compliance program following two fatal Max 8 crashes. The Justice Department will reportedly give Boeing until the end of the week to decide if it will plead guilty or face a trial. A plea deal would reportedly involve a monitor being appointed to supervise Boeing’s compliance with fraud laws. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/us-wants-boeing-plead-guilty-201111812.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9oeXBlLmFlcm8v&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGaUEtLTxmZ2yYctjjEnBfyUrSxByJAMySx1iLxjHz96Sd0jCeV4Te3oC-zWER6ihzwRtz7TxRQIDUjOxIYDrcH2GUjlfEe6Ykkdn9W4ewAZNLaieDlIlHFUnCsBq5FlLsaPdbyZdoio4b33QXWS8DIw0fGbxGW6dsvFcH4vjnU4

Fire sparks chaos: Lithium battery turns van to ashes in Chon Buri
Georgealbert replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
My sources are from professional bodies, those involved in the fire industry. The research is done to improve the safety of emergency responders and has been accepted worldwide and used to produced responders guidance and safety procedures.. So do you really think the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) is not a credible source? My source is corroborated by the organisation that support the findings and were in involved in the research. 1. Australian Department of Defense. 2. The NFPA is a U.S based international nonprofit organisation devoted to eliminating death, injury, property, and economic loss due to fire, electrical, and related hazards. 3. AFAC (Australasian Fire Agencies Council) is the National Council for fire and emergency services in Australia and New Zealand, creating synergies across the emergency management sector. 4. NFCC UK (National Fire Chief Council) is an independent membership association and the professional voice of UK fire and rescue services. 5. Fire Technology is a leading research journal dedicated to resolving problems in fire safety and fire engineering. 6. SFPE )The Society of Fire Protection Engineers) a prominent professional organisation which represents professionals working in the field of fire protection and fire safety engineering. 7. Fire Safety Journal, an international journal devoted to research on Fire Safety Science and Engineering. 8. RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Department of Fire and Safety, 9. Lund University, Sweden, Division of Fire Safety Engineering. 10. IFE, The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) is a global professional membership body for those in the fire sector that seek to increase their knowledge, professional recognition and understanding of fire. (I hold Member grade membership which for individuals who hold a Level 4 Diploma or equivalent and have been working within the fire sector for at least five years) Real professional bodies that know a lot more than me, and certainly you. -
Fire sparks chaos: Lithium battery turns van to ashes in Chon Buri

You just posted a link to a general web site that contains the words you wanted to hear, not a professional fire organization. I posted links to the scientific research and full scale testing, from professional bodies, which is supported by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association). I am sorry if you fail to identify the difference, all I do is post real facts, I clearly can not help you understand those facts. You also seem to have lost your argument, as you are now forced to name calling, as you clearly have no knowledge, training, qualifications or experience on the subject of car fires. Here is a another image for you, from EV FireSafe, which is a private company that received funding from the Australian Department of Defense to research electric vehicle high voltage battery fires & emergency response, particularly where the EV is connected to energized charging. This company has produced world-leading research & SME knowledge is referenced by the Australasian Fire Agencies Council, National Fire Chief's Council (UK), National Fire Protection Association (US) & various EV manufacturers such as Tesla. The link was posted previously. -

Georgealbert replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
Thai media report Authorities have apprehended a deputy civil engineer assistant from the Thanto Subdistrict Administrative Organisation (SAO) in Yala Province. He is suspected of being involved in the recent bombing of a police barracks in Bannang Sata District. CCTV footage has played a crucial role in identifying the suspect connected to the bombing incident. The vehicle used in the attack was found to be an official vehicle belonging to the Thanto SAO. Further investigation into the vehicle led to the suspect, who is employed as a deputy civil engineer assistant in Thanto SAO’s civil engineering division. Background checks revealed that the suspect's wife is a cousin of Wa-Uthman Waemong, a person wanted under an arrest warrant issued under the Criminal Procedure Code. Authorities have utilised their powers under the Martial Law Act to detain the suspect, Mr. Mustofa, and have sent him to the interrogation center for further legal proceedings. One Killed, Many Injured in Yala Car Bomb Attack
Georgealbert replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
Thai media update. “Surveillance footage shows the assailants executing the bombing in just 10 minutes. The perpetrators stole a blue, four-door Toyota pickup truck (license plate GKH 3320 Betong) from Thanto District. The truck belonged to the Thanto Subdistrict Administrative Organisation. The vehicle was loaded with an improvised explosive device (IED) consisting of a 15-16 kg gas cylinder, steel rods, and approximately 80 kg of explosives. Two fuel canisters were also placed inside the truck. Upon reaching the police flats, the suspect parked the truck and was picked up by an accomplice on a motorcycle. The accomplice, dressed in black with an orange under shirt, wore a black helmet to conceal their identity. The motorcycle fled the scene, and the bomb detonated about 10 minutes later. Investigations by security forces revealed that the truck traveled from Sri Bang Lang Road, passing through a checkpoint in Ban Kasod, Bannang Sata District, at around 09:40. The truck was parked at the police flats at 10:13. The explosion claimed the life of Mrs. Rokiyah Sarana, a 45-year-old religious teacher from Kampong La Lae Mosque, who was riding a motorcycle past the truck at the time of the blast. The explosion injured 34 others.” https://workpointnews.com/around/news/NXE4NME -
Police Flats Bombing in Bannang Sata
Georgealbert replied to Georgealbert's topic in Southern Thailand
Translation of Thai media report. “Bomb Explosion in Bannang Sata Leaves One Dead and 18 Injured. On June 29, at 10:23, the Bannang Sata Police Station received a report of a bomb explosion in front of the police flats in the Bannang Sata Municipality, Bannang Sata District, Yala Province. Upon receiving the report, Police Colonel Ronnan Surawit, Superintendent of Bannang Sata Police Station, along with Police Lieutenant Colonel Worawit Na Nakorn, Bannang Sata District Chief Chaowalit Sitthirith, administrative officers, military officers from the 30th Ranger Regiment, firefighters, and rescue teams, arrived at the scene. Initial investigations revealed that the explosion resulted in one fatality and 18 injuries, including eight police officers and ten civilians, all of whom sustained minor injuries. The injured were transported to Bannang Sata Hospital for further treatment. The deceased, a female, could not be immediately identified due to severe burns. Authorities are working to identify the body and will provide updates. The explosion caused significant damage: the concrete wall and fence of the police flats were destroyed, and numerous windows and doors of the five-story building were shattered. Additionally, the blast damaged several windows at the back of the Bannang Sata District Office and around 30 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles within a 30-meter radius. Bomb disposal units from Yala Provincial Police and forensic officers conducted a meticulous investigation of the area, fearing further explosions. The area was cordoned off to prevent unauthorized access. Preliminary findings suggest that the perpetrators used a 15-kilogram gas cylinder, weighing about 100 kilograms, which was concealed in the cab of a vehicle and detonated by a timer. The vehicle was parked in the area earlier in the morning without arousing suspicion, leading to the devastating explosion. Authorities suspect that this attack was orchestrated by insurgents aiming to escalate violence in the region. Prior security warnings had been issued about potential threats, but the attack still occurred. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.” https://fm91bkk.com/newsarticle/32591 -

Thanks, but all I have done is the same as you, post facts and supported it with links, and we both then get attacked by posters who fail to back up their claims. I understand the fire risks with Li-ion batteries, but it is just another risk like everything else on the roads, be it EV, NGV, ICE LPG or any of the dangerous goods carried everyday, explosives, flammable liquids, gases, flammable solids, oxidisers, toxic materials, corrosive materials or radiation. Emergency responders develop guidelines and procedures to safety and successfully deal with all incidents, always have done and will always continue to do so. I have no preference for EVs or ICE vehicles, but what I like are the real facts, with credible links, not the conspiracies based on someone’s unqualified opinions, that some here then believe is the ‘real truth’ I confess I drive a ICE vehicle. -

So you really think fire services have not researched and developed procedures for EV? Here is a read of this, from EV FireSafe which is a private company that received seed funding from the Australian Department of Defence to research electric vehicle high voltage battery fires & emergency response, particularly where the EV is connected to energised charging. This has produced world-leading research & SME knowledge is referenced by the Australasian Fire Agencies Council, National Fire Chief's Council (UK), National Fire Protection Association (US) & various EV manufacturers such as Tesla. https://www.evfiresafe.com/ -

June 30, at Kilometre Marker 25, Asia Highway, Opposite Somdet Phra Sangkharaj Hospital, Bo Phong Subdistrict, Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. A fire broke out in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle at kilometer marker 25 on the Asia Highway heading towards Ang Thong Province. The fire originated in the engine compartment on the right side of the vehicle. The car was forced to pull over to the side of the road. Mr. San (last name withheld), a 54-year-old driver of a 6-wheel truck, was following behind and witnessed the incident. He called out to the Benz driver to stop and used a fire extinguisher to contain the blaze before local firefighters from the Bo Phong Subdistrict Administrative Organisation arrived to assist. Mr. San, the truck driver, reported that while driving, he noticed sparks under the Mercedes-Benz. He alerted the driver to pull over and assisted in extinguishing the fire. His company mandates safety training for all drivers, including aiding fellow motorists in distress without worrying about delivery delays. The owner of the Mercedes-Benz stated that the car, equipped with an NGV system, was en route to a religious ceremony in Ang Thong. The vehicle is regularly maintained, especially the gas system. Firefighters informed him that the fire originated from a problem with the gas heater in the engine compartment, leading to a gas leak and subsequent ignition. Further investigation by specialists will be necessary to determine the exact cause. https://workpointnews.com/around/news/NQSBIRR

Yes maybe, but he had pulled over and only had to open the cover between/under the seats. It is not conclusive but the picture below seems to show the fire developing from either between/under the seats or under the dashboard. Note all the doors open to feed oxygen to the fire. -

Yes, but this was not an EV involved in this fire. Could you also say, isn’t one sitting in front of a tank of highly flammable liquid/gas in an ICE or LPG car? -

I think this van had something like this installed, as the owner is reported as saying in the Thai media, “He confirmed that no modifications were made to the van’s audio system or other parts, apart from the installation of the lithium battery for air conditioning purposes. The van was used exclusively for personal use.” https://workpointnews.com/around/news/NTV9918 -

No it is not a question of scale, read the research I posted, and how the test fires were modelled and recorded. I clearly stated, yes I have dealt with EV and Li-ion fires and also worked on guidance about EVs and Li-ion batteries. You do understand that the risks with Li-ion batteries is a lot bigger than just EVs. I don’t need to boost about my experiences, I don’t suffer from your superiority complex, I just leave that to someone who calls themself a chemist, that synthesised nitroglycerine, which has no relevance to this at all. I posted the research and you not only failed to believe it you have also posted zero links to anything that proves your point. Remember your first post in the thread “t's worth noting a fire hose was ineffective in extinguishing the fire. Just as well it did not occur in an enclosed space, such as undercover parking.”, which was totally wrong, as the fire was extinguished using water hose-line and the vehicle was not an EV, but don’t let the truth and facts get in the way of you alternative reality.
