They found the lifeless body of a 31-year-old man, identified as Mr Srisakul, lying in a pool of blood. Rescue personnel attempted CPR, but their efforts were unsuccessful. They ascended the 1,225-step stairway leading up the mountain to reach the incident site. The fall occurred beyond the staircase, near the mountain’s famous natural rock hole. The victim plunged approximately 50 metres down a steep cliff, a section often considered dangerous and challenging for climbers attempting to reach the summit. Eyewitnesses, who were descending the mountain at the time, reported hearing a loud thud before rushing back up to investigate. They discovered the injured climber suffering from wounds to his face, arms, and legs, as well as severe neck pain. Unable to assist, they alerted nearby climbers, who hurried to his aid. At 10:00 rescue volunteers reached the victim and provided first aid. He was identified as Nattawut, a 19-year-old resident of Chai Buri subdistrict in Mueang Phatthalung district and a boxer from a well-known local school. Due to the steep terrain, the process of bringing him down was slow and difficult. Finally, at 10:55 rescue teams successfully carried him to the base of the mountain before transferring him to hospital for further medical treatment. The incident occurred on Platform 1, where the body of a Thai man, estimated to be about 50 years old, was found face down with severe injuries. No identification documents were found on him, but he was wearing an adult diaper, suggesting he may have been a patient with special needs. A military officer who witnessed the incident recounted that as Northern Line Train 207 (Bangkok–Nakhon Sawan) approached the platform, the man suddenly attempted to step off the train before it had come to a complete stop. According to CCTV footage, the suspect, described as a stocky middle-aged man wearing a black jacket, black trousers, and a face mask, entered the shop barefoot around 14.00 on 14 February. He initially told the shop owner he wanted to exchange a gold necklace for a bracelet as a present for his girlfriend. However, after discussing prices, he left, only to return at 18.00 with a different approach. This time, he asked to see a 1.5-baht gold necklace, claiming his girlfriend would bring a 2-baht gold necklace to swap. As he engaged the shop owner in conversation, he grabbed her mobile phone before requesting the necklace and gave a wai apologetically, saying he was in desperate need. Shortly afterwards, he forced his way behind the shop counter, threatening an elderly shop assistant. The victim, Phichakorn Boonchuay, 30, was shot multiple times in the torso and later died from his injuries at Ang Thong Hospital. His brother, Wathanyu Boonchuay, reported hearing five to six gunshots before finding his sibling bleeding. A friend identified Thanakorn Thipprathueang as the gunman. At 16:20 police received another alert of a shooting in Moo 3, Hua Phai subdistrict, where 70-year-old Decha Khaobao, a former military veteran, was found dead after being shot. Initially thought to have collapsed, Decha’s death was later determined to be a murder. Investigation revealed that Thanakorn, a resident of Hua Phai, was behind both killings. He first shot Decha, his step-uncle, before fleeing on a motorbike with his accomplice, Ped. The pair travelled over 10 kilometres to carry out the second murder of Phichakorn. Afterward, they escaped with their weapons and ammunition. Thanakorn’s mother, Chonlathicha Kansathit, 57, disclosed that her son has been struggling with a psychiatric condition and had been inconsistent with his medication, often feeling isolated and unloved. The two fugitives were captured during the afternoon of 15 February, following an intense manhunt. The crash occurred on the outbound section of M81 in Bang Mae Nang Subdistrict, Bang Yai District, near a toll gate. The motorway is closed and not yet operational. Rescuers found a silver Honda Civic with Bangkok registration at the scene, its front end damaged. The driver, 46-year-old Mr. Surachet was found unconscious behind the wheel. According to investigators, Siwakorn had asked Wongsakorn for a loan of over 100,000 baht to invest in agricultural equipment, specifically a drone for farming. Picture courtesy of SiamChon. A 56-year-old Turkish tourist had an unfortunate end to his Valentine’s Day celebrations after falling victim to theft in his hotel room in South Pattaya. The man, identified only as Mr. I, reported the incident to Pol. Lt. Nares Phumsuk of Pattaya City Police Station in the early hours of 15 February. According to his statement, he had met a woman on Pattaya Beach earlier in the evening, who matched his preferences. After agreeing on a price for her companionship, he invited her back to his hotel room. Upon arriving at the room, the tourist went to take a shower while the woman waited in the bedroom. However, when he emerged, she had vanished without a trace. Attempts to contact her by phone were unsuccessful, and upon checking his belongings, he discovered that 4,000 baht in cash from his wallet was missing and an additional 600 US dollars had been taken from the room. Convinced that the woman had stolen the money, the distressed tourist immediately filed a police report. Pol. Lt. Nares recorded the complaint and has ordered an investigation.
