It will be interesting to see the final outcome of the police investigation into John Barnett’s death, but the testimony he was giving before he died was not about the current Boeing safety issues, although the safety culture he spoke of, as a whistleblower, could be linked to the current problems. He was giving testimony in his own personal defamation case against Boeing, who he accused of denigrating his character and hampering his career because of the issues/problems he had pointed out. The sad part was that those close to him had identified some problems, and his brother Rodney Barnett told the media, after his death, “Taking on his long-time employer had caused John to develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and his health had been in decline. He was suffering from PTSD and anxiety attacks as a result of being subjected to the hostile work environment at Boeing, which we believe led to his death,"

New passenger lawsuit filed against Alaska Airlines and Boeing, says that wearing their seatbelt saved their lives. “Cuong Tran, of Upland, California, was sitting in the row behind where the side of the aircraft tore away and left a door-sized hole on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 on Jan. 5, according to a news release from attorney Timothy A. Loranger. Loranger, who filed the lawsuit, said air rushed out of the hole, pulling on Tran and others nearby. The suction tore Tran’s shoes and socks from his feet and he felt his body lift off his seat, the news release said, adding that Tran’s foot was hurt when it was jerked into the seat structure in front of him.” https://apnews.com/article/boeing-airplane-door-blowout-lawsuit-cdc4af3e0047723cdfc4bae301243367

Wait until you visit, “The Shoppes at Belle Grand Rama 9” is behind G Towers, which was some architect’s dream. If it had been in G Tower, that would have been a spot of true pleasure. -
HTMS Khirirat on fire in Sattahip, three injured
Georgealbert replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Be interested in hearing more on why/what you thought was wrong with the fire service response. I give you a few facts of the incident. 1. HTMS Khirirat, was moored at the time of the incident and was not fully crewed. 2. The fire service in the videos are all from the Sattahip Navy Fire Station, and are all full time military personnel. 3. The fire was extinguished quickly and most of the videos are showing smoke clearance, hence a water jet away from the ship causing a venturi effect, common way to clear smoke. See video below. 4. Local Thai government fire services attended, but were stood down and not required, by the Navy Commander in charge. 5. The Navy fire crews, would be under the command of the Navy Commander in charge, and following their orders. 6. With the ship moored, the question of stability, location of fire, what systems can be effected by fire or water have to be considered before fire fighting commences. 7. Moored ships when large amounts of firefighting water are added, will affect the buoyancy and water should never be allowed to accumulate in areas which affect the ship’s stability. 8. Injuries were mostly from smoke inhalation, either from crew evacuation or initial firefighting attempts without breathing apparatus. 499364207893414345.mp4 -
Complicated scenario of abuse, passports and marriage
Georgealbert replied to Na Fan's topic in General Topics
Is she really dealing with the Norwegian embassy, or VFS, who deal with all the applications and forward details to UDI for consideration? VFS does not normally keep a passport for Residence Permit applications. I have helped a few friends of my wife through this process and passports have only been retained when applying for a visa, not the Residence Permit. There is/was a backlog of Residence Permit applications, but she should have a UDI reference number which will give you an expected date of any decision, and all other information, which is available in English. When or if, the Residence Permit is issued, there is normally a six month requirement to enter Norway, or it then becomes invalid. She should be able to cancel any application by contacting UDI online and then having the passport return. -

Thai Enquirer’s, facebook page, posted a video of the incident, with smoke coming from the ship. Surprised this item has been allowed in the news, thought the military would have attempted to block it. Incident occurred just before midday today. https://fb.watch/qOunETu_Xz/? -
Thai Frigate Receives Fire from Another Thai Frigate

Sorry no, because it was not recorded in the FAA investigation report. I also can not find any investigation that notes that disabled passenger affected the evacuation. Hence airlines maybe following the regulators guidelines, such as CAAT guidelines posted before. The British Airways aircraft fire in your picture, reported the following. 6 of the 8 exits were not available to be used due to the fire situation. The evacuation took 2 minutes 32 seconds, more than the 90-second limit stipulated by the FAA, but the 90-second rule applies to an aircraft evacuation when half the available doors are used. The aircraft only had 55% of seats occupied. The opening of the emergency exits was delayed, as the pilot walking through the aircraft to assess the incident was blocked by standing passengers. Despite announcement being made, passengers still crowded the emergency exits before they were opened. One of the flight crew was nearly knocked out of the door by a pushing passenger when the evacuation first started and had to grab hold of an assist handle in order to stay inside the aircraft. An elderly woman with a mobility issue was knocked over in the rush, but cabin crew picked her up and get her to an exit. The one seriously injured was a cabin crew member who slid down the emergency slide after water had been sprayed on the slide, from the fire suppression efforts. That crew member suffered a compression fracture of a vertebra and a fracture to the left forearm.

This was British Airways flight 2276 Las Vegas to London, on 8 September 2015, involving a Boeing 777-200E. All the passengers were safely evacuated, but 19 people sustained minor injuries and one other sustained serious injuries, mostly from sliding down the escape chutes. The aircraft was repaired and returned to service in March 2016, 6 months later.

Thai VietJet cites safety reasons for refusing disabled passengers

The international guidance for airlines for passengers with disabilities is contained in the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) Manual on Access to Air Transport by Persons with Disabilities (Doc 9984). Please provide evidence of that, because the maximum period that could be added was 9 months, I personally had a few passports with the extra 9 months added, from early renewals, but all the old passports still had years left on them. From an article at the time of the law change, another brexit bonus. “when British citizens renewed their passports, time remaining on the existing document was added to the new one – up to a maximum of nine months.” https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/sep/14/uk-passports-could-lose-up-to-nine-months-validity-after-rule-change

Yes, you are probably right, as the OP has given further details and information on his situation, since my first posting. It is difficult if the OP gives little information and then drips feeds further details later. I did ask a few question to try to better understand, but were never answered. I still seem unclear what the OP wants to achieve, what assists he has to protect, are there children, if he plans even to return, where is the wife? I am out of the thread.

FAA issued a new airworthiness directive on 11 March for some 737 models for non-conforming installation of spoiler wire bundles. Reported problems followed up by orders to do checks and action repairs or replacement. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2024/03/11/2024-04956/airworthiness-directives-the-boeing-company-airplanes

This report was only about the high end traveller, not your average passenger. The report states it; “looked at which terminals offered at least 10 lounges, surveyed the number of designer shops available, noted the number of luxury hotels in the area, and checked whether travellers could find perks like Champagne or caviar before boarding.” https://www.travelandleisure.com/dubai-international-airport-most-luxurious-airport-in-world-study-8603681 The same website has a different top ten for it’s “Readers' 10 Favourite International Airports of 2023” https://www.travelandleisure.com/best-international-airports-2023-7551696

So now you are posting facts, trying to change the subject from your original conspiracy nonsense. It was you that said call me “a wingnut conspiracy guy, full of bullpucky” not me. You have also again failed to answer the questions I raised about your conspiracy ideas and how it was planned or who would benefit from the door plug incident. Opinions, to become true need evidence and facts, not just your maths. How many times on the 154 cycles of this aircraft do you believe these seats were empty? The NTSB in press conferences and the preliminary report have been very open in it’s disclosures, so I am sure if there was a history of the airline keeping the seats empty, it would have been noted, unless you believe NTSB are part of you imagined conspiracy. NTSB investigation, FAA suspensions and guidance, DOJ investigations are all part of the normal process following aircraft incidents and accidents. There is also the missing records of when or why the door plug was removed during some maintenance work, all part of the ongoing investigation. “Ziad Ojakli, the executive vice president of government operations at Boeing, said employees looked "extensively" and failed to turn up any paperwork about the "opening and closing of the door plug,"” https://www.npr.org/2024/03/09/1237204488/boeing-door-plug-alaska-airlines-investigation If you want to be taken seriously try sticking to the facts and our views are very much the same. Please more on from your conspiracy nonsense, as you will just embarrass yourself further.
