Show a link backing up your claim about people requesting BKK plates. I have never heard a Thai say that, and have never noticed a lack of Chonburi plates in Pattaya. Pattaya was crazy for New Year, don't think I have ever seen it so busy. The beach at midnight was so full, but most bars we went to, were not that busy, lot of passing crowd. The beach concerts seemed to have attracted a mostly domestic crowd, but the city had a very diverse cross section of nationalities and people. So glad we never had to drive home until today, as the roads were jammed from mid afternoon yesterday until ling after mid night.

Given the location of Nitan coffee shop, must people have to drive, so I would imagine he should have said his wife, noted that most cars in car park, had BKK registration plates. The coffee shop is too busy at present, but the craft beer is nice. Not cheap, so majority of the ex pat pattaya crowd, would never go. No large Chang at 65 baht.

I have read the thread and remember you other posts. Computer issues, google mail issues, phone issues, bank account issues, lazada issues many times. Issues, issues, issues. Yes, but given the low cost of decent quality now, I would like to have the option to view in the best quality available. It is like watching the same channel online, HD and then comparing what I get through my local cable supplier, in Sattahip, you never watch cable again. That includes the Thai channels. Older movies, VHS, are going to look the same, so no problem. I never watch much TV, but would not want to limit the experience for a few 000 baht.

Fully agree, I was only using standard TV source when I used a converter, and found it had not only effect on the quality, but distorted picture size also. Would think HDTV, UHDTV and 4 K sources it would be pointless.

Many years ago, used an HDMI to AV converter. Yes it worked, but lost picture quality. I got a new TV fairly quickly. If your android box is receiving decent UHDTV or 4K channels, I think you will be disappointed. Unless things have improved in recent years, which I doubt, as old technology.

Yes, but anyone buying in Pattaya, must be aware of what they can expect. It's like buying next to an airport and then moaning about the noise of the planes. Only expose myself to Pattaya, when staying in hotels for events, but the fireworks were expected last night, just happened a bit later than planned. Surely no one goes to Pattaya at new year for a quiet family holiday.
