  1. Exactly. My accounting company changed nominees years ago. Only have 2 now. My wife and her mother. https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=5a082e8a-b8b1-40eb-a495-e8cf6022bd29 Thailand’s Upcoming Legislation to Allow More Foreign Condo Purchases, Extend Land Leases: Key Insights
  2. Pity the nation that is full of beliefs and empty of religion. Pity the nation that wears a cloth it does not weave and eats a bread it does not harvest. Pity the nation that acclaims the bully as hero, and that deems the glittering conqueror bountiful. Pity a nation that despises a passion in its dream, yet submits in its awakening. Pity the nation that raises not its voice save when it walks in a funeral, boasts not except among its ruins, and will rebel not save when its neck is laid between the sword and the block. Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox, whose philosopher is a juggler, and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpeting, and farewells him with hooting, only to welcome another with trumpeting again. Pity the nation whose sages are dumb with years and whose strongmen are yet in the cradle. Pity the nation divided into fragments, each fragment deeming itself a nation. Kahlil Gibran, The Garden of The Prophet (1933)
  3. More like saving the world from those who have weaponized the term woke....
  4. Good gosh. You're back. For how long? Hopefully not long
  5. 25% of countries are now offering evisas. I've used this service many times and it's worked great.
  6. I'm in the UK right now and imported wine is cheap. Getting very drinkable wine for 250B a bottle. The same bottle, if you could even find it, would be at least double in Thailand. Probably triple. Ridiculous laws created decades ago and now protecting some of the richest families in Thailand
  7. MAGA! Oops...made in Switzerland. 😝 Sheeple
  8. Get the embassy involved. They we're incredibly helpful when I had to deal with something similar.
  9. Right-wing influencers say they were dupes in an alleged Russian influence operation. They’re keeping their millions, for now https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/13/media/right-wing-media-influencers-tenet-russian-mon The right-wing social media stars who were allegedly paid millions of dollars in a nefarious Russian influence operation to shape public opinion around the 2024 US presidential election are remaining mum.
  10. I'm no tax expert, but have been researching this for other countries. You will have to do a tax return now for Thailand and you will get credit for any taxes you paid in the US. If the tax rate is higher in Thailand, I think you will owe taxes, right? https://smartasset.com/taxes/current-federal-income-tax-brackets I would guess few of us are above the 22% or 24% bracket. Though things might change a bit when the tax cuts Trump implemented expire next year. He reduced the rates a bit but doubled the standard deduction. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_Cuts_and_Jobs_Act
  11. Nigeria isn't easy to visit. Kazakhstan was great! As was all the other countries in that area. Spent months there.
  12. I've been to almost 150 countries. Israel is one I would not revisit. Too much tension. Too much religious bs. There's more to life than reading the Bible or other religious book.
  13. Talk about weird faces. https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/photos/donald-trump-funny-face
  14. Most Muslims just want to have a good life and take care of their family.
  15. Not a sound argument given that Trump isn't a sound individual. How many of his followers are now in jail? If he's not elected, he could be next. Horrible world leader.
  16. 100% accurate that he called veterans who were wounded losers and suckers. What a horrible person. Stunning anyone could support him. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2020/09/trump-americans-who-died-at-war-are-losers-and-suckers/615997/
  17. Ya sure fall for it. Sheeple. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trafalgar_Group The Trafalgar Group is an opinion polling and survey company founded by Robert Cahaly and based in Atlanta, Georgia. It first publicly released polls in 2016. Trafalgar has been questioned for its methodology and for an apparent bias towards the Republican Party.[1] Trafalgar's polls for the 2022 midterms were inaccurate, predicting Republican wins or close races in multiple states where Republicans ended up losing by significant margins.[3] Trafalgar does not fully disclose its polling methodology, which has drawn criticism from conventional pollsters. FiveThirtyEight has found that Trafalgar typically overestimates Republican Party performance by two points.[1][4]
  18. Ya gotta be kidding me! He only watched the news to see what they said about him. Worst president ever, as widely reported. https://time.com/5518947/donald-trump-intelligence-briefings-national-security/ Willful Ignorance.’ Inside President Trump’s Troubled Intelligence Briefings What is most troubling, say these officials and others in government and on Capitol Hill who have been briefed on the episodes, are Trump’s angry reactions when he is given information that contradicts positions he has taken or beliefs he holds. Two intelligence officers even reported that they have been warned to avoid giving the President intelligence assessments that contradict stances he has taken in public.
