  1. All people in Thailand deserve to get fair compensation for the loss of a loved one. What do Thai people get when there's a bus accident? 50,000 baht or something like that? Some much is wrong with Thailand. So much is unfair to Thais and foreigners. That 15 year old kid shouldn't have been allowed on the jetski. The jetski company should be fined and should have insurance. This place is a mess. What should we expect from this place. Just keep the Thais who control this place and their offspring here. They shouldn't be allowed to leave to greener pastures as it really is their creation.

  2. I would say other factors might also affect the embassies decision. If the girl you are applying for is a lot younger than you and also a bargirl the embassy might look at that questionably. If she is close in age, you've known her for a while, you have married in LOS,or have a child together things might be more positive.

  3. Maybe CPU isn't the right word for the box and all its junk inside. If PCs couldn't be improved you wouldn't be on the net right now. Like the 57 Chevy some people liked the TRS80. I asked for things you'd like to see improved. If you like everything about your computer please don't upgrade anything as it would be a sign of insanity. As for examining the startup times on my comp that's been done. I just would like my computer to turn on and off like a lightbulb (not a flourescent one!). It really is the future. It may be hard to imagine for some. There was a the time when people used to burn a piece of wood for light.

I can see that day coming, Master.

  4. What do you think would make your computer better?

For me I just can't stand the slow startup and shutdown when turning my computer on and when shutting it down.

In addition, the slow reaction of CD/DVD drives when opening and closing including those on dvd players for TVs just wastes time again. Finally the giant CPUs for home computers take up too much space. I would like to see the CPUs brought down to the size of a small book. So Microsoft and Apple get to it. have you got any ideas?

I'm sure things will get better; it is only a matter of time.

  5. Assurance and Inssurance are the same I guess. I had never heard of Assurance until I came to Thailand. By the way eugene, what is the payout to your wife if you drop dead? I'm insterested in getting some life insurance as security for my family as well.

  6. I've noticed that I cough moe when I use cologne or air fresheners too. I don't remember being bothered by them so much in the past. Even though I don't cough I know that I still have something. The last wekk hasn't been so bad though. The air has a lot more moisture now so maybe that's helping a bit.

  7. I did a visa to the US for my wife. I chose to be honest and checked the section that she worked as a prostitute in the past. She worked for one year in a bar. I also wrote the name of the bar down. I felt it was the right thing to do at the time. I'm not a liar and can't lie. She got the visa and we had a good time in the US. I don't fear getting a visa for her again. I do regret being honest in that I will probably have to check that same column again which has the word prostitute when we apply for a visa again. We have a daughter together so it probably won't be much of a problem for her.

I feel there is a discriminate issue here in that they ask who has been a 'prostitute' yet they do not ask who has been a 'john' Why? Are there any lawyers out there that see some sort of violation of human rights here? maybe I'm completely wrong about this but I really see it as wrong.

Why don't they ask if you have ever killed another human being? Have ever taken drugs? Most people accept the policy of the embassies because they are not put on the spot. When the day comes that each citizen arriving from abroad must sign a legal statement stating what and what they did not do while abroad, people will quickly realize how wrong the system is.

Cobra Gold may be coming soon. The GIs will be landing in Pattaya to do 'train' This is the world we live in.

By the way, I have never killed another human being but if you have you still can get a visa to England or the US.

  8. The guy is probably a decent guy. I'm sure you could find evil people cuddling babies as well. Pictures don't tell a thousand words as they say but we should hope the the good we see is real.

Anyway, there are probably foul and decent people on both sides of the fighting in Iraq. One thing is for sure, if the war had never happened the girl probably wouldn't have lost her parents or have been shot in the head. I believe a lot is owed to the innocent victims of the war. I also believe that politicians should not be allowed to benefit from actions like this. George Bush and some other probably should go to jail for creating the pain and suffering they have. They'll retire and live comfortable with their fat pensions and profitable investments while others will live with pain for the rest of their lives.

Presidents and Prime ministers should accept menial pensions equal to that of the average citizen from their countries once they leave office, be outlawed from investing any money anywhere once they take office and after they leave, be forbidden from taking paid positions after leaving office, and lots more.

  9. Laws are good if they are enforced. When you wear a helmet you do lose some hearing and visual. As for kids on bikes, there are a lot of poor people in Thailand who have to take their kids on the bikes with them in order to live normally. By the way, a lot of the accidents on the roads aren't caused by bikes. There may be more motorbikes accidents but that's also because there are more bikes. If they are going to crack down then let me be the devil's advocate. They should also do a few other things like ban people from sitting in the back of pickup trucks as they do in many other countries. Require child seats for all children. They should also ban all people from owning more than one passenger car sedan or coupe and no more than one personal commercial vehicle. They should also limit the number of vehicles per household and ban parking on most Bangkok streets to encourage people to choose and use public transportation. They should also ban cellphone use in cars and force drivers to have two hands on the wheel at all times or risk a fine. Anyone under the age of twenty should not be allowed to drive in urban areas. Finally, foreigners really should not be allowed to own cars - why let foreigners add to the traffic problems? There should also be a cap on the number sof new cars sold in the country each year. It's not just motorcyclists, it should affect everyone.

  10. Seems like since I moved to the BKK area I have acquired a seasonal dry cough. I really don't know what it is. It doesn't really bother me too much as I don't cough that often. I've notice lots of people have it but what exactly is it? It seems to be only here in LOS.

At one point someone said I am "Pair agaht" I guess I had a drip coming from inside my nose down the back of my throat infecting my brochial tubes. It waas similar to this. Well, that was a couple years ago but still every cold season I seem to get this dry cough. I recently heard that "Pair Agaht" is Hayfever.

There is a lot of pollution in the air at this time of the year as its cold and people are burning more 'stuff' to keep the chill off. I figure that this might be the cause of the cough.

Anyways its amazing how many people seem to have it and how they accept it without wondering what exactly it is. Does anyone have this dry cough? What is it? Is it something worse than it seems to be? Do you know anyone who has it?

  11. I hope they pull through with this. They should do the same for all the other debtors here. Why are those unfinished skyscrapers still around the city? The government should force the owners to complete them or sell them off. There should be more tax on the land so that the wealthy people here don't just sit on property. They should crack down on these bloodsuckers.

  12. I haven't seen any but I'll keep my eyes open for them. This sounds interesting. I mean why not BNA or BBE or ZNE. The possibilities are endless. Baan Nawk Esarn? Michael Jackson's song 'Ben' Michael is mixed up.

  13. No sympathy. The guy deserves it all and the rest of his fmaily do too. The worst thing about the experience is that it will probably make the him stronger.

As for him being American, he should pay tax if it is due. Where's the IRS when you need them?

Has Thaksin visited the US since he was ousted? With his diplomatic passport he was free from US law, right? Now he may be subject to it should he enter the US. Did his family have diplomatic passports too?
