Why not make a resolution to drink more, eat more and get fatter, waste more money, exercise less, and be unproductive? At least at the end of the year you will feel that you are a man of your word.

I wonder if anyone knows about government savings bonds in Thailand. Are there any? Where can they be purchased? What denominations do they come in? I'm interested in buying them for my kids.

What about offering the opportunity for regular Thais to keep their savings in US dollars in their local Thai banks? Only the wealthiest Thais are in on international currencies at the moment.

As far as I'm concerned those incarcerated should be forced to get birth control implants. The silly idea of having 'martial visits' is just bull. If a husband is going to visit his wife he should be paying the state a monthly charge for keeping her in prison. He also should be charged for the extra health costs of the expecting mother.

The whole thing is silly. Letting women get pregnant in jail is a crime against the unborn. Force them to take birth control!

Sounds like the option you want is one of those long term leases on the land. What are they 90-year leases? There's a thread somewhere on here with info about this. Even though you may own a house or a house with land or any property in Thailand I don't believe that you are guaranteed the right to live on Thai land. That means no visa guarantees.

If I remember correctly, the tea's main active ingredient is the addition of the natural laxative Senna thus 'the tea for kee'. There's no magic to the tea itself.

If an account is inactive for so many years it can be claimed by the state in some places. Who leaves money in an account and doesn't check on it? Didn' t the guy check his account during the 1997 financial crisis?

As for the factory worker she has a real complaint. If you inform a bank of some type of theft from your account within two months usually you are not responsible for the stolen money.

But it seems some people don't really care much about the things they own. Their property makes easy pickings for corrupt individuals.

Anyone who carries a knife on them as a weapon is a dangerous person. This drunk is a criminal. If the police find him and he has his weapon on him I hope they don't hesitate to use their weapons on him. Violent people belong in jail. Being drunk is absolutely no excuse for commiting violent crime. That cashier will have to live with those scars for the rest of his life. Lets hope that the two sick bastards on the motorcycle are in jail or die soon because they surely will commit more crimes.

Thaksin's ITv really was MeTV. I think its just another nail in Thaksin's coffin. He probably will think twice about returning to Thailand. He's losing friends by the day here.

I'd guess a lot of the older people out there drifting around in the alleys who aren't alcoholics have some mental condition. My brother is a bit wacky at times. If you bought that old guy a new suit and gave him some dinero he would still be wandering around doing what he does tomorrow. Once your are on the outside of society it is hard to come back and be 'normal' again. We are all lost souls in one way or another to someone else. If you live in LOS a lot of people from your home country probably will think that you are different. They may think you are an 'adventurer' or 'worldly' which would be positive but many think you are here for the girls or drugs or because you just can't deal with or make it back in 'the real world.'

My brother is a homeless can collector. He graduated with a degree in Finance. It's his life. Maybe this guy wants to be there. If he doesn't want to be there he probably could escape or would let someone help him. He may just be in his own world. Everyone would like my brother to do something different with his life but he choses to do what he does. You can always invite him to live with you. Would anyone be so altruistic?

I asked about a sign in Thai it was simply a limit per customer like any promotional item. They want to attract customers with some good buys.

The US is sooooo much better than Thailand for justice. That's a fact. Thailand probably would jail or fine foreigners who 'got ripped off' while working here illegally. It's too bad that the Thais in Thailand don't demand fair pay here. The haves here all the way to the top don't want to give justice to the poor. Thailand and its rulers are as corrupt and self-serving as ever.
