  1. I'm no expert but this looks to me as if the latency to the first hop in Singapore is 309 ms lol. Bandwidth seems unaffected somehow so I've no idea what is going on.

  2. I strongly suspect the monkeys are fooling around with the controls . . .

    Quite so.......

It is not just a TOT problem. I have just retested my TOT speed and find that up load is 94% good but download is only 19% good. I shall be contacting them in the morning to see what they can tell me..........

I was about to say don't bother but then again, you might as well try. My wife received a phone call today in response to the email I sent on the weekend: it was ToT calling to tell her that everything has been fixed! When I got home I quickly discovered that absolutely nothing had changed. Honestly it feels as if they have already begun testing the great firewall.

  3. Here come the naysayers, conspiracy theorists and people scared of change. If you're just doing everyday tasks (web browsing, email, music and video) then go for Windows 10. If you use specialized or professional software then it might be worthwhile checking compatibility issues beforehand. Also worth making sure that the laptop you buy is compatible with Windows 10, which it should be if new. A few seconds of Googling will inform you of this. Been using Win10 on 3 different computers since May and have not had any problems.

If you're paranoid about Windows spying on you (solipsism is quite funny with pc users, noone really cares about you that much) then heres a bunch of apps to make you feel warm and cuddly:

  4. I'm in heaven !!

I have been fighting with Firefox for the last 6 months or more as my browser takes 30-45 seconds to load the first page, the firefox start page. I tried 20 different scenarios .... deleted history, safe mode, bookmarks, add on's disabled ... everything .... pipelining , new profile, nothing worked

now I reverted back to Firefox 2010 .. Version 3.6.10

    and it's fast !

browser opens in 3-4 seconds. But now I try to download Ublock or ABP and get an error :

Firefox could not install the file at

    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/124634/addon-0.7-fx.xpi?src=api

because: Signing could not be verified.

Buy a new computer or upgrade to Solid State Drive

Ssd won't help much, the plugin is not smart enough to tell the difference between Ssd or spinning drive

My point was that by upgrading either the computer in general or to an SSD then he could install the latest version of Firefox as it would only take seconds to load on a solid state drive.

  5. I couldn't find much of a selection on Lazada. The majority there are flashy gamer types. JIB and Invadeit both have the Rosewill RK9000 which should suit your needs just fine.

Something to keep in mind though, if you're working in an office or area with other people the Cherry MX Blue switches can be quite noisy but they are generally preferred by 'typists' for their tactile and clicky feel. If you need something a bit quieter then the MX Browns are pretty good.

  7. well in keeping up with the Jones , I just went out bought a 2400 baht keyboard .... whistling.gif

also, ran over the other one with the Chevrolet.

Hope you enjoy the new one. I'm sure you'll notice the difference.

Unfortunately I'm the same with computer mice now. Since having used a 'good' one I could never go back to a 200 baht piece. facepalm.gif

  8. Is the OP genuine or just a troll? Are you really so frugal as to agonize over a 150 baht purchase?

Just last week I spent 5000 baht on a keyboard (yes mechanical with Cherry MX brown switches) and it's a gem. It is expensive but it's a pleasure to use and hopefully will service me for several years.

  9. Way to go WhatsApp (WhatsCrap):

"Open Whisper said the new encryption would be the largest of its kind anywhere in the world, and would use TextSecure – a service which uses a cryptographic key that’s unique to individual devices – to protect its giant user base. Experts were quickly impressed, as Wired claimed the solution was “practically uncrackable“, and the Wall Street Journal stated that “the encryption is so robust that even the law enforcement won’t be able to decrypt WhatsApp messages“.

  10. I downloaded and had issues with screen going crazy. Finally contacted Dell and was shocked to find they have no plan to have my 3 yr old laptop supported for Windows 10. Fortunately I was within the 30 day Microsoft window so was able to restore Windows 7 with all files easily. I had already bought a new printer as my Epson did not work with Windows 10 either.

My paid-for Kaspersky anti-virus program vanished when I installed 10 and it remains missing-in-action. I initially Googled in hopes of finding a fix or upgrade, but found nothing helpful. I guess it will save me further annual subscription payments and I'll work on the (naive??) assumption that Windows Defender will suffice along with my Malwarebytes. Apparently all the hoopla about Windows 10 went unnoticed at Kaspersky.

Two seconds on Google revealed this:

Windows 10 OS is relatively new. To ensure a malware-free and secure experience, Kaspersky Lab has planned the release of a compatible KES version in October. It is advised to postpone transition to Windows 10 or to revert to Windows 7/8.1 for the time being.

  11. I tried W-10, hated it, unstable, and too many issues for my liking, may try again later when reports are of it being more stable and less hassle are rolling in.

I liked Win 7 a lot but got used to Win 8 quickly and whilst I dont mind standing still for now at win 8.1, I think taking a step backwards to 7 only to have to move forward again later is not a good idea, if I were you I would just leave it as it is at Win 8 until 10 settles down.

XP had everything I needed in an OS, and let's face it, not supporting it anymore has more to do with the MS thieves company making money than providing a better service. Why should I have to buy a new scanner when my old one is fine, but the new OS won't recognise the scanner? Even the computer shop guys couldn't get it working on my new, but already obsolete laptop. I had to demand that they sold me a computer with 7 on it instead of the 8 scumsystem.

If someone, anyone realised that there is a HUGE market out there for computers that just go on the internet and do simple stuff like photos they would make a LOT of money. Having to buy a computer that has all the bells and whistles when they will never be used is a waste of money. Ideally a computer should be as simple as turning a DVD player on. My mother refused to use a computer as she found it too confusing, and she is not alone.

Never heard of iPad or tablet?
