Fascinating. Also, no surprise, and matches my experiences of growing up, my working life and my current life. Funny how someone speaking common sense gets denigrated by the lunatics and the extremists.
With "Tug" being your name I'm not surprised you know a bit about boats. Plenty of those around where I live; they always look bottom heavy to me, but they sure are busy!
However this gets resolved I hope it is peacefully. As usual it's the normal people just trying to live their lives who get affected by the political craziness.
Good post. I was in Shenzhen recently. I took a walk around a nice park, and then up to its highest point. There was a statue of Deng Xiaoping facing towards Hong Kong, walking in that direction to take it back from Maggie. I had to smile at the irony.
Really? Why not put in place a programme for a DOCUMENTED labour force to support the Californian economy - LEGALLY!! Why can it possibly be acceptable to allow clearly illegal immigrants to be employed illegally, with full knowledge that it is happening?
Apologies for that rant folks, I just don't get how such wanton illegality is accepted in the US of A.
Ooh! California as Mexico's 32nd State? I like that. Have I heard a similar idea for a 51st State somewhere else?
I'm not too sure the rest of the US would like to lose such a large economy though...
Pah, this Thai approach will never work. They should have done what has been tried in Hong Kong...

I read up on this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooftop_Koreans. Very interesting. I'm not sure I liked why Trump sent in the National Guard and activated some Marines (as the LA Police and Californian administration should have been able to handle). I have more of an understanding now on why Trump couldn't trust this to work out. Very sad.
I don't like any of this, but I certainly don't like this warmonger advocating military action which would have been inevitable if the PM had taken "concrete steps to eject the Cambodian forces". Better talk and et resolved than lost potentially many Thai armed force personnel, and the consequential impact on their families. I'm sure he'd be last in the queue to pay reparations to any of the wounded or dead!
I wonder if the passenger loading on the bus service collapsed, meaning it wasn't viable to continue? I also note that the visitor visas are now limited to 7 days for Thai nationals, further putting negative pressure on passenger numbers? Might be more to it than politics.
