  1. What complete and utter rubbish. Yeah there are male gynos so I guess male "midwives" aren't out of the ordinary, about 0.5% in the UK apparently. But spending all this time and money on a word? Who cares!! I have no misunderstanding. Women give birth, men do not. Yes my understanding is rigid of course, but I'm not so old that I can't remember my high school biology, and not a single thing has changed since.
  2. A good start but a long way to go I suspect.
  3. Yeah, but I wasn't passing comment, just passing on the comment I got from a Filipino friend as I think is clear from my post, so nothing for me to forget. I am fully aware that he condoned extra-judicial killings, and so is he apparently (according to my Filipino friend). Also according to my Filipino friend most of those killed were a long way from being innocent, just that they were not yet convicted. So, are you saying that Thaksin should be sat next to Duterte in Den Haag? Maybe that'll happen when a different political party gets in?
  4. Sex reassignment surgery gone wrong?
  5. Tourists go to any given country need some kind of visa. That might be granted on arrival or pre-approved. That visa doesn't give anyone the right to break any law. Break it? Expect to home immediately. Simples. As for a Thai who breaks a Thai law? That's up to them and the police, nothing to do with any tourist, 2 wrongs don't make a right.
  6. Yeah, same experience for me in HK. Separately, I've had some dalliances with local women; they are very repressed by the education system and families, so are often massively shy and conservative. Then their body clocks tick tock a bit, and they get really horny (in their 40s). Trouble is they have so little social and societal skills they are an absolute nightmare (more money demands than any Thai I've ever heard of), and apart from generally being really nice looking they have no relationship skills; never thought I'd have to do sex education for a 40-something. I totally avoid now.
  7. I got a Filipino friend who shares very similar stories of police corruption in the Philippines. When Duterte got in he doubled the salary for the police, and added lots of other benefits like medical. Along with that he told the police to stop the corruption. Or else. It generally disappeared, but has returned since Marcos got in.
  8. Guess the security camera is there so that the footage can be used to judge the limbo dance competition?
  9. Smoke it b4 getting to the airport. No need for an airline ticket then.
  10. The 1st time I went to Phuket (Karon), about a year before the Russians moved in, it was brilliant. So many decent Thais, lots of smiles. Used to go to a small bar run by a Brit, really decent guy who looked after us well. Went back Karon about 3 years later and the Thais seemed to have forgotten how to smile. I went back to that bar, only to find that guy as miserable as sin too. He recognised me and, surprisingly, he cheered up a bit and we got chatting. I asked the obvious and he told me that he'd been asked about selling up. At gun and knife point by some 'friendly' Russians. This was his last week in Thailand. All I could do is make damn sure I helped him get through his remaining stock. Sad.
  11. Wow. What chance did the girl have with family like that.
  12. His general music style isn't my thing, but I did listen to a lot of his stuff as it was better than the rest, and I really respected his musical ability and lyric writing. And I liked his collaboration with Sheena Easton. It's all personal taste though. I'm off to see a band called Bloodywood in Japan in May, might be slightly different to Prince...
  13. A great example of high-quality social media. Not.
  14. I'd add stomping on DEI to your list. I'm not sure I always agree with how he's going about doing stuff, and I'm not sold on the benefit of all the tariffs, but generally he's doing okay.
  15. Profit over lives. If proven in court, all involved and their families, who enjoyed the fruit of that profit, need to be stripped of all their assets and cash, never mind those charged being put into prison for a very long time.
  16. Having worked in aviation for over 35 years I cannot get my head round this abject failure of basic aviation safety. The FAA is clearly a failing organisation. It clearly cannot have a culture of safety that any reasonable person can have faith in.
  17. I'm a referee. I see several red card incidents in this video. The game should have been abandoned. But, what pressure is the referee under to NOT handle this as it obviously should be? Would the Association handling this league support him? Fine/ban the players? The team managers banned too? The clubs dismissed from the league including all players, and management? I know where I live the Association is gawd awful. They rarely back the officials. Even where a crime (common assault) has happened on the pitch, with video evidence, a player didn't get banned. I got several more examples of this.
  18. No mention of gofundme so she might be insured. 😕
  19. Meanwhile, is there enough money for essential medicines and equipment in the NHS? Crazy, crazy, crazy.
