  1. The OP isn't particularly complex, but the whole Brexit mess is massively complex (at least to my single brain cell). The OP looks sensible to me as a start. Yes, the UK voted for Brexit & I don't want another vote just because some people didn't like the answer - I'm Scottish; I don't want another independence vote too. But the EU is a major trading partner to the UK, and many of the current arrangements suit neither party and I hope that all gets sorted too.
  2. I'm not about to disagree with anything you've said, I still think, however, that people can make choices, and not eat such food, and to reduce their calorific indicate whilst increasing their calorific output. Governments can help by banning or putting taxes/tariffs on such foods; the list you made is excellent. So, well done RFK for making a start, and thanks for your input. For fuller disclosure, I'm 95kg (210lbs), 6' 3" (1.91m), BMI = 26. Meaning I'm overweight (just). Reason? Too many beer calories in, not enough exercise calories out. The usual signals of too much beer are not present (liver/ blood sugar etc.), so my answer is more calorific output (I like beer more than I like sitting on my ass). I won't use a taxi to get me 1/2 a mile down the road, I won't use a moving walkway to get me up to a gym & I will walk to a bar that's 2 miles away rather than 1/2 a mile (I'll be walking past about 25 bars to get there...). I will continue to not eat 💩 food.
  3. I don't support any of the UK's political parties for very many reasons which I won't bore people with just now (maybe later 😂). But I would like to see independent statistics on the lying percentage comparing Stanmer and BoJo...
  4. I'm sure the speed limit was being dutifully adhered to.
  5. Happy for the WHO to make recommendations for my government to consider. We don't elect the WHO so not keen that they mandate anything. Wonder how much the WHO costs to be a member of, what's the percentage of GDP and whether that percentage is fair across the developed world, and what they value for money is? I guess the coercive power comes from experienced clinicians etc. interpreting scientific facts, and effectively communicating those findings. Might be a bit dumb not to follow such advice unless there's a clear and excellent reason? Our ex Boris failed to following anything unless it was in front of his greedy snout.
  6. Sounds like a bunch of people wanting to live in the UK, but not to integrate or adhere to the Laws of the country where they now live. They need to go back to wherever they can from. Simples. Wonder what'd happen to me if I chose to ignore the laws local to where I live eh?
  7. There are 000s upon 000s of fast food joints in Japan, yes of course not as much of the McD/KFC etc. trash, but lots and lots of local fast food. Fried, not always the best meat, just like McD/KFC etc. The difference that's simple though. The Japanese don't overeat bad or processed food to the extent that the Americans do, and they don't eat the same volume of food. Nothing wrong if someone wants a McD, just don't have that as a snack along with the regular 3 massive meals that so many Americans often have. I've seen it often enough with my own eyes; I've been to 43 of the 50 states (and the 51st state quite a few times too). 😂 It's the people eating the fast food, not the fast food itself, that's the problem.
  8. McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut don't cause obesity. People cause obesity.
  9. Maybe fewer complaints if it had've been women rather than men? First time I've seen no calls for the unpixelated photos. Just to be clear, I am NOT calling for that... Joking aside, this is a crap publicity stunt, showcasing the worst of social media.
  10. Some of this seems similar to the Hong Kong "anti-doxxing" law. In HK "It is an offence to disclose any personal data without the data subject's consent with an intent to cause harm to the data subject or any family member of the data subject". Such behaviour is apparently down by 40% as a result of the new law that came in about 4 years ago; as is standard for Hong Kong, the police and criminal justice system shows zero tolerance for this. https://www.thestandard.com.hk/search?query=doxxing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doxing
  11. I'm not sure there is a single grain of truth in this OP. Sorry folks... 🤣
  12. All of the mentioned issues can be mitigated though planning and disaster recover procedures. Not easy, but then again not exactly difficult or impossible. That 50-year celebration has been known about for a very long time, so why was it a surprise? Typical money-grabbing airline; no planning, continue to fill aircraft with passengers when a 5-year old could tell that they would not have the capacity to fly their routes. Massive fines for the executives, all fine money given to the affected families.
  13. Seems like a good news story, I've seen for myself candy that's brightly coloured causing more hyperactivity in children than normal candy (chocolate) without colouring. After all the bashing that Kennedy has received it looks like he's turned the corner.
  14. Pah! This guy is way too leftie. California needs a leader who is strong against crime. Anyone want to start a campaign for Rodrigo Duterte to become Mayor? Someone might need to spring him from The Hague though.
  15. No need for them to do so, every detail will be on a Signal chat somewhere... 🤣
  16. How come stopping illegal activities requires further legislation? Doesn't the US already have laws to stop illegal acts? I'm confused (darn, that emoji's gone now...). I guess the 21 year old mentioned in the OP faced a choice of return or jail and he chose the former.
  17. No idea if this stated fact is true or just politics (i.e. lying), but assuming it's true how come this facility isn't totally full of people returned? Means there's still a bigger burden on the US tax payer than there should be.
  18. I'm in a bit of China where youtube still works... Not sure if these are the ones you meant, but the content is quite interesting. The 2nd one especially.
  19. Understand your point. There might be some good Chinese contractors about of course, but it should be "guilty until proven innocent" on this; they need to be independently checked, and very very thoroughly. And, same goes for all other contractors in an attempt to drive better standards, and to cost fewer lives.
  20. Yeah, and also a judiciary that prosecutes without fear or favour. Each and every time someone breaks the law, no matter who they are and what their job is.
  21. Isn't the free market wonderful!!! 😆
  22. I am assuming that the speed of British Justice will be revved up again for all of those who were rude to JK et al.
  23. I got shingles, and it affected my eyes (keratitis). I luckily went to my GP almost immediately I got symptoms; I was told that if I'd delayed I'd likely have been rendered blind. I got a bit lucky. I still have minor symptoms, with nerve endings pinging away every so often and sensitive and itchy skin around my forehead. Not annoying enough to bother about. I got the vaccine just in case.
  24. I don't understand why anyone is still trotting this stuff out. Trump won the election fair and square, in accordance with the standard Electoral College process. Who cares what the margin was? It doesn't matter in any way whatsoever. Like him or not, he won. Get over it. If you are a Dem, that's okay with me, but best help the Dems put together a decent agenda for the Dems to campaign for at next election and to put up a candidate that's capable of winning; both of these things the Dems totally failed to do at the last election.
