Prohibition of willing giveaway to the destitute? Sounds quite "Unthai". Reasonable level of compassion/generosity to the less fortunate. That is strongly the part of this kingdom's faith-based culture. Well-endowed bureaucrats/politicians never live in the reality; only concerned about superficial " image" of the country to the outside world. Beggars are what the system of the country automatically creates. As the result of social deprivation. Some people are born given nothing(eg custodian, relatives of any kinds) from the rest of the world. So as the otherwise available opportunities. As long as they don't have workable scheme effectively rescuing and rehabilitating such ones to merge into so-called "mainstream" way of life put up with these people. The are rather harmless private charity seekers. They are not like dangerous vicious robbers/bandits; only want small handouts from mercy of strangers. They won't extort money from the innocent unlike thugs. Or won't invade into the life of other people. They also indicate the neglect of policy makers and administrators after all. Extremely hypocritical that they don't want to see the result of own selfish laziness.

Report Thai Police Dismiss British Teen’s Drug Smuggling Claims
black tabby12345 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
She was busted somewhere else as the drug smuggler. What is the point of talking about her experience during Thai police custody? Totally irrelevant at this stage. She is now under the jurisdiction if Georgia. And this is where ahe is going to do her time when convicted... -
Depends on the case. In the event of limited scale conflict, the quality will win. But different story in other cases. Why? Because of the deception method. That trick was nothing new; known even from the time of Cold War era. Even the aegis raders cannot tell the dummy rounds from the "real". When adversary launches the mass of missiles(or drones), numbers of decoys can be just as many as the live rounds. That is how the Saturation Attack really works; supermacy of the precision weapons can be wasted/neutralized this way. Great accuracy, wonderful. But it isn't always almighty. Just like nothing us perfect...

Report Cannabis Advocates Warn of Economic Damage from Policy Shift

12000 reasons why They Thai govt hated. -
Not really. Unlike first world"s universal healthcare scheme. it only covers the amount above certain lower limit. In other words, for minor conditions, it doesn't'" help. So each year, you will be dumping quite amount of money for nothing. I would rather pay in cash in local university hospital each time when the need arises. I don"t deny any other opinion though.

USA Elon Musk Launches New Political Force: The America Party
black tabby12345 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
What's his party's chief aim? Raising America's jobless rate to the max possible level? Kicking as many as workers out of their jobs, as he already demonstrated in the past months? -

China is far ahead of most countries in the field of drones. They have even launched and successfully retrieved unmanned space vehicle to and from the moon. Even the Hi-Tech giant like Japan, cannot match them. When they use it in actual war, most likely to come in huge mass(saturation attack) beyond adversary's interception capacity.

Perception of aging foreign man as Thai woman's husband in rural area? They are certainly welcome; as the sudden big(ger) wallet from the heaven. A lot bigger blessing, than Pheu Thai govt's occasional money handout if such a man comes with sizable saving/pension from own home country. But elderly alien man's fate is sometimes unknown. Since my settlement here 2 decades ago I have heard quite a few cases where they were kicked out of their wive's houses(after all of the saving sucked out). Or dying some mysterious deaths while sleeping. And the body dumped into nearby reservior. Hope it won't happen to you in any future...

A foreigner met an attack after traffic collision? A knd of common risks of driving here. When the aliens cause an road accident, things often turn out against them. Especially when they are not fluent in Thai. Better use taxi, in case of short term visitors. So no risks of losing own limbs on unfamiliar roads during the holiday trip. I have heard quite a few such cases...

Economy 400 Baht Minimum Wage Now in Effect for Bangkok
black tabby12345 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
When they expect significant pay rise, their products quality and productivity must go up as well. Judging from the overall level of education here, quality control, efficiency, and products reliability, it is fairly a tall order. Higher industrial outputs, often leads to wage hike. But no real vice-versa. They really need better education, before they can better their products(for the first world wage). It seems more than a looooong way. -
Report Cannabis Chaos: 12,000 Thai Shops Face Closure Under New Rules
black tabby12345 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
12000 shops facing closure? It means the loss of livelihood to so many(both the store owners and their workers). No wonder why anti-Pheu Thais are rapidly on the increase.
