I just leave this here. I'm retired and have a tax ID for many years already. I haven't remitted any money to Thailand in the last few years. The other day I went to the revenue office to claim back withholding taxes. I do this every year, and just take my bank documents and let the lady at the desk fill in the documents. She asked me several times if I had remitted my pension, which I told her I had not. I then asked her if, in the case I remit funds to Thailand, and amount is less than the threshold of the of tax-free allowance, if I had to file a return. She said I would not need to file a return in that case. This was Jomtien.
